"Explain the problem again." Kakashi said.
Deadpool finally stopped pacing around Kakashi's office long enough to explain what was actually happening.
He dropped into one of the chairs opposite the desk, crossed his legs, and waved his hands dramatically as he spoke. "Okay, Professor Ninja, here's the situation. My universe is dying because its timeline got so badly damaged that reality basically looked at itself and said, 'You know what? I'm done.' The TVA says we need an anchor being, but apparently mine is dead. And because you're some sort of cosmic paperwork error who doesn't belong properly to your own timeline, they think you can hold my universe together."
'TVA, I have read about them in the Kamar Taj library.' Kakashi thought.
Kakashi rested his chin against one hand. "And who exactly was your anchor being?"
"Wolverine."
Kakashi's visible eye narrowed. "Logan?"
"Yep."
"Dead?"
"Very."
"Who killed him?"
Deadpool's shoulders slumped. "Some Mr. Sinister guy."
Kakashi stared at him for a moment. "Mr. Sinister?"
"Yep."
Kakashi said, "If your universe's problem is caused by the death of its anchor being, why don't you simply travel back in time and prevent his death?"
Deadpool slowly turned his head.
"…"
Kakashi waited.
Deadpool pointed at him. "You know, for a guy who reads romance and smut novels in his office, you're occasionally pretty damn smart."
Kakashi's eyes twitched and then he sighed. "You said the TVA can manipulate timelines. If they can send us between universes, surely someone capable of manipulating time could take us back to before Wolverine died."
Deadpool's eyes widened. "Wait."
He stood.
"Wait."
He slapped both hands on Kakashi's desk.
"That's actually a really good idea."
Kakashi looked unimpressed. "Thank you."
"Don't get used to it."
Deadpool began pacing again. "So instead of stealing you from your universe and turning you into the multiversal equivalent of duct tape, we go back, save Wolverine, restore my universe, and everybody goes home."
"Exactly."
Deadpool stopped. "There's only one problem."
"What?"
"I am pretty sure TVA does not like messing with timelines. I don't think that they would send us back in time."
Kakashi stood and said, "I know someone who might be able to help."
Deadpool stared at him. "You know a time wizard?"
"No."
"A time ninja?"
"No."
"A wizard ninja?"
"No."
"Please tell me it's not Gandalf."
Kakashi walked toward the door. "We're going to see the Ancient One."

The Sanctum was quiet when Kakashi and Deadpool arrived, although the silence lasted approximately three seconds after Deadpool stepped through the door.
He looked around and kept on commenting things while Kakashi ignored him.
He did not know what to feel about all of this situation and this man. The man was very annoying and seemed to know things someone should not know. He was glad that he was not part of his universe.
Ancient One appeared at the top of the stairs throigh a portal. Her expression remained calm.
Deadpool looked at her. She looked at Deadpool. Deadpool looked at Kakashi.
Then back at the Ancient One. "Oh, this is going to be fun."
The Ancient One descended the stairs. "Kakashi Hatake. I assume you have come because of the unexpected arrival to our universe."
Kakashi nodded and went straight to the point. "Yes. Deadpool's universe is collapsing. We believe its anchor being can be saved by traveling back before his death."
The Ancient One turned her attention toward Deadpool. "You are Wade Wilson."
Deadpool pointed at himself. "You know my real name?"
"Yes."
"That's usually when things get uncomfortable."
The Ancient One smiled faintly. "Your universe has diverged significantly from its original path."
Deadpool's head tilted. "How significantly?"
The Ancient One raised one hand, and a golden projection appeared in the air. Multiple timelines branched from a single point before twisting into increasingly different paths.
"Your universe has changed far beyond the normal range of temporal deviation. Events that were supposed to occur never happened. Others occurred centuries early. People who were never supposed to meet have become allies. Others who should have lived died instead. The timeline has become structurally unstable."
Deadpool stared at the projection. "So my universe went off-script."
The Ancient One nodded. Deadpool looked directly toward an empty corner of the room.
"See? I told you there was a script."
Kakashi looked at him. "Who are you talking to?"
"Nobody."
"There is clearly nobody there."
"Exactly."
The Ancient One continued as if all of this was normal. "Your problem is not that the timeline has changed. It is that one of its fundamental anchors has been removed. And your method might be able work if you manage to make sure that he does not die."
"Wolverine," Deadpool said.
"Yes."
Deadpool's voice became unusually serious. "Then I just go back and save him."
The Ancient One shook her head. "You cannot."
Deadpool's arms dropped. "Why?"
"Because you are not capable of freely traversing the temporal boundaries separating your universe from its previous branches. It would cause an incision and your universe would die anyways."
Ancient one pointed toward Kakashi. "But if he goes with you then the problem is solved."
Kakashi frowned. "Why?"
The Ancient One looked at him carefully. "Because your existence is anomalous. You were not created through the normal progression of this universe's timeline. Your temporal signature is independent enough that you can move between divergent branches without being immediately rejected by them."
Deadpool slowly looked at Kakashi. "So you're basically a multiversal tourist."
Kakashi sighed. "Apparently."
"Do you get frequent-flyer miles?"
"No."
"That's bullshit."
The Ancient One continued, "You and Deadpool can cross between timelines
together and just like how you brought mutants here, your presence can also make sure that Deadpool goes through with you without causing his universe to die."
Kakashi sighed. He could not catch a break. Now he was not only helping people in his own universe but another universe.
And he did not even like this Deadpool guy but he knew that if Naruto was here, he would want him to help the people of the universe. Trillions of life could be saved.
What Kakashi would not give to go back being just Kakashi Hatake, the copy cat ninja doing simple missions.
