UK:GSW Chapter 394 – Thanks to the Sky Ninja Brothers for Leaving a Super Gift Pack, the Genjutsu Network Can Now Spread Across the Ninja World

Black Zetsu spent three days and nights unable to understand just where the Sky Ninja got their nerve from.

Sure, the combination of the Sky Fortress and a complete Zero-Tails was indeed powerful, and in today's ninja world it was without doubt a cutting-edge superweapon far ahead of its time.

But this ninja world wasn't the kind of place where one or two superweapons could decide everything.

Given the terrifying size of the Hidden Leaf Village and the fact that it was full of elite fighters, the best way to take them down would be to accumulate strength, unite other factions, and then deal the Leaf a massive blow together.

That was precisely why Black Zetsu had given some of his treasured resources to the Sky Ninja Village in the first place.

But once the Sky Ninja received his support, they became just like a certain country in the old world that, upon receiving backing from two superpowers, immediately thought its mighty neighbor was easy prey—swelling with delusions to the point of absurdity. The only difference was that these guys hadn't started dancing on the spot.

…Wait, no—they really did dance. During the victory feast celebrating their sudden surge in power and their plan to take revenge on the Leaf, some Sky Ninja actually took to the floor.

Once again, the diversity of human behavior left Black Zetsu shaken, making him realize that his understanding of humanity was still incomplete.

Of course, while irritated, Black Zetsu still acknowledged the Sky Ninja's strength. Although their assault on the Leaf would never be enough to completely destroy it, they might inflict heavy damage, and the odds weren't low. After all, conducting a fierce aerial assault in this era was still an overwhelmingly advanced tactic.

In the original timeline, Deidara had succeeded in attacking the Hidden Sand Village—one of the Five Great Nations—from the sky and capturing Gaara. Pain had also entered the Hidden Leaf from above to carry out an internal bombardment. These proved that an aerial strike was an extremely effective method.

As long as the Sky Ninja Village could heavily wound the Leaf, other powers would surely seize the opportunity. The chances were high that they would join in the assault, triggering a new shinobi world war.

Even though the Leaf's current strength could withstand a siege, it would be no easy task. It would likely devolve into a prolonged war of attrition.

In such a scenario, the Leaf would be forced to continuously send forces out to engage the enemy, leaving its defenses back home vulnerable. Black Zetsu figured that would be the perfect time to strike.

Though this wasn't the all-at-once annihilation he originally envisioned, achieving a phased objective was still acceptable.

Thus, all Black Zetsu had to do now was wait patiently, then leak news of the Leaf being attacked to other powers when the moment came.

He was certain his scheme against the Leaf would succeed.

…And then, under these circumstances, Uchiha Sasuke led a Hidden Leaf assault team into the deep mountain forests where the Sky Ninja Village was hiding.

With Naruto serving as a supreme strategist, Sasuke fully utilized the Byakugan and the tracking skills of the Inuzuka Clan, as well as Karin's potent Uzumaki sensory abilities, to map out the enemy's situation with complete clarity.

From there, he split the Uchiha fighters into three units, supplemented with other shinobi into different teams, using the Yamanaka Clan as the communications hub. In this way, they launched a covert strike on the Sky Ninja Village.

The entire process was textbook special operations—elite ninja infiltration at its finest—covering every contingency through exhaustive preparation.

Sakura also departed with several shinobi as a support squad, tasked with providing medical aid at the frontlines.

Everything was carried out to perfection—the best the current ninja world could offer. The only possible improvement would be for Sasuke and Naruto themselves to intervene directly, unleashing a "deus ex machina"-style overpowering attack.

But unless absolutely necessary, Sasuke was unwilling to personally take action. Likewise, Naruto—now possessing overwhelming strength—was also held back, the "nuclear weapon" deliberately left unused. The goal here was purely to test leadership.

After all, this was Uchiha Kei's way of testing Sasuke… or so Sasuke thought.

In reality, Kei had no such intention—he simply wanted to see Team 7 reunited and recapture some of the old feeling. The other shinobi were just there to handle the grunt work afterward.

But thanks to the Uchiha clan's talent for overinterpretation, Sasuke ended up on a completely different track, deciding to handle even the post-battle affairs himself.

Naruto, acting as temporary chief strategist, found Sasuke's reasoning sound and devoted himself to the plan.

And so, thanks to everyone's rampant overthinking, Sasuke's strike force hit the Sky Ninja Village in a manner completely outside Kei's expectations.

Prepared in full, with contingency responses for every scenario, the operation went perfectly. Even unexpected incidents were dealt with easily.

The problem was—the Sky Ninja were simply too weak. Their strongest were a handful of average Jonin. There was no theatrical main villain like Shinnō from the movie. Even those who could tap the Zero-Tails' power were no match for the prepared Leaf strike team.

In the end, the combined assault crushed them effortlessly, so much so that the mission felt like a casual outing—three days and nights of preparation, half an hour of execution.

Locate the enemy. Destroy the enemy. Clean up. End.

When it came time to deal with the Zero-Tails, Naruto, as the Nine-Tails' Jinchuriki, took the stage. This was the plan from the start—it only made sense for a Jinchuriki to handle a tailed beast.

Naruto called upon Kurama within him. Though the Nine-Tails had grown used to calling himself "the Brawler" in the Genjutsu Game world, in real combat Naruto still addressed him as Kurama.

With Kurama's help, Naruto easily overpowered the Zero-Tails and sealed it with an Uzumaki sealing jutsu—pure stat and mechanic superiority, no flashy tricks.

Sasuke then oversaw the Leaf shinobi gathering prisoners and looting the Sky Ninja's assets. The captives were utterly broken—no trace of the arrogance they had before.

Their leaders had been swatted aside like common fodder. Their pride shattered, their beliefs destroyed, they now obeyed every order without hesitation.

Not long after, Kei received Sasuke's detailed mission report. Sasuke expressed his understanding of "Uncle Kei's" deep intentions and his gratitude for the trust placed in him—successfully completing the operation with zero casualties.

After reading it, Kei froze, wearing a confused look.

Wait—Sasuke didn't personally fight? He just commanded the others? And when did Kei ever set up such a plan? Those people were only meant to assist and clean up afterward!

Baffled, Kei called for White Zetsu to explain what had happened.

The White Zetsu quickly gathered intel and reported back, brimming with zeal, praising Kei's "deep foresight" and "greatness."

Learning the truth, Kei was speechless.

Was that really my plan?

Seriously—how did they all come up with this stuff? And how was it so contagious that even the quiet, broody Sasuke caught it?

In the end, Kei didn't bother correcting the misunderstanding. The Sky Ninja's legacy was now Konoha's property.

Next, these assets would go to Orochimaru and the other researchers for study and integration.

With Sky Ninja tech, the biggest beneficiary would undoubtedly be the engineering grandmaster Sasori—much of it overlapped with his current projects.

Once absorbed, Sasori's research would explode forward, yielding many new inventions. This was what Kei most anticipated—Sasori's work had the greatest impact on industrialization, potentially injecting a massive boost into the Leaf's progress.

In addition, the possibility of a ninja-world satellite was now within reach. The Sky Fortress itself could even be refitted into a super signal tower—its aerial broadcast would surpass any ground-based network.

With this, mass expansion of the Genjutsu Network across the ninja world was no longer a problem. Even the Second Ninja World's network issue could be solved.

This was an unprecedented windfall.

For Black Zetsu, however, it was a nightmare. When the Sky Ninja were attacked, he was elsewhere; by the time he heard, they had already been wiped out.

Shocked and furious, he demanded to know from the White Zetsu what had happened.

The White Zetsu, using a prepared excuse, claimed that the Sky Ninja's arrogance had exposed them, leading to a sudden strike by the Yellow Flash Minato Namikaze, wiping them out and seizing their assets.

Accepting this without doubt—after all, he had never questioned the White Zetsu's loyalty—Black Zetsu erupted in curses. It was their arrogance and hubris that had doomed them, wasting his investment and leaving him with nothing but loss.
