UK:GSW Chapter 410 – Technology Changes Life: The Possibility of Cloning to Create the Tenseigan and the Rinnegan

"Nagato, life is full of experiences—failure is just one of them. Your journey isn't over yet…"

"Lift your head, Uzumaki Nagato! Have you forgotten Yahiko? Forgotten the ideals the two of you fought to uphold and pass on? Do you think you're honoring him like this?"

"What else can you do? No—you can still do a lot. You can still fight for true peace, for a truly better world!"

"What is true peace and beauty? No, Nagato—you don't understand anything. Your understanding is far too shallow. Whether it's the Eye of the Moon Plan or your so-called 'peace through pain' theory, they're both nothing more than superficial, foolish notions…"

"Do you know why the ninja world has never had peace, why oppression and exploitation never end? No—you know nothing, because you don't even understand the most basic concepts!"

"Yes—you must stand back up. You must truly understand why you fight, why you strive!"

Uchiha Kei unleashed his "stand-on-the-moral-high-ground-and-point-fingers" skill, first morally condemning Nagato, then launching into a full-scale values lecture. While tearing down Nagato's shallow, outdated ideals, he poured new ideas into him.

Once Nagato began to deeply doubt himself—truly wanting to understand everything and figure out where he went wrong—the Illusionary Great World activated.

Nagato was sent into a learning space within the genjutsu world to undergo fundamental political education. He didn't need to learn anything too advanced—just enough to understand why the ninja world could never find lasting peace, what the root causes were, and how to change them.

Once the basics were complete, Nagato would naturally know what to do next—and willingly become an outstanding workhorse for their cause.

At the same time, Konan was also sent inside. She didn't need political theory; instead, she got supplementary lessons in management, economics, and administrative skills. Once she came out, she'd be assigned as Main World Tsunade's deputy—becoming an excellent handler of government affairs.

In World No. 2, two senior members of the Akatsuki had thus been dealt with. And the harvest from this operation didn't end there.

This also meant that World No. 2's Gedo Statue—the husk of the Ten-Tails—along with all the Tailed Beasts sealed inside it, had all been secured.

On this point, the Main World Konoha side didn't keep all the spoils for themselves. They would share these prizes with World No. 2, even including the research results on Black Zetsu.

Of course, even though both sides were "Konoha," this arrangement wasn't pure goodwill. The real goal was to integrate World No. 2's technology and industrial system into the Main World's Konoha framework.

This wasn't about making World No. 2 a vassal—it was just that with the development of science and industry, World No. 2 could never keep up if they tried to go it alone. They had no such intention anyway. After internal discussion, they chose to join the Main World Konoha's system as an equal part of it.

They believed the "cake" would only grow larger, and by joining early, they'd secure a massive share of the future benefits. It wasn't hard for them to accept—the very concept of "independence" had never existed for World No. 2 Konoha. From its founding, the "Hidden Village" system made it a vassal of the Land of Fire, restricted by the Daimyō, and with its economy partly under the Daimyō's control.

So this shift in direction carried no psychological burden.

This operation thus became a genuine trial run for deeper ties between the two Konohas.

The outcome didn't disappoint—every target was captured without fail.

Once Uchiha Kei had arranged Nagato and Konan's study plans, the Tailed Beasts of World No. 2 were freed.

Using the Rinnegan taken from Nagato, they controlled the Gedo Statue and released the Tailed Beasts.

The one to carry this out was Minato Namikaze. He temporarily transplanted the Rinnegan and, using it, took control of the Gedo Statue.

However, unlike the original story's instant medical-ninjutsu plug-and-play, Uchiha Kei used his Mangekyō power to "game-statify" Minato.

With the boost from game-statification, Minato was able to rapidly master the Rinnegan, instead of needing a long adjustment period like others.

In truth, the ones most suited to using the Rinnegan aren't people like Minato, but members of the Senju and Uzumaki clans—or rather, anyone with a strong physique and power close to the Sage of Six Paths' bloodline.

As a civilian-born ninja, Minato was not an ideal fit. The best candidate would have been Hashirama Senju, followed by other high-level Uchiha.

But the Senju present were all Heroic Spirits, retaining their strength from life but unable to receive such transplants. Others weren't quite compatible.

This also served as an experiment—could someone without Six Paths bloodline, when boosted by game-statification, effectively use the Rinnegan?

The result was satisfying. Minato, despite lacking the bloodline, adapted quickly and used the Rinnegan well. This meant others could do the same.

The pool of potential Rinnegan users suddenly expanded.

As a side note, Kei's earlier plan to mass-produce Mangekyō Sharingan through game-statification had failed.

The first test subject, Uchiha Naori, after having her Mangekyō removed, regrew ordinary eyes through game-statification—not even basic Sharingan, just default human eyes.

To awaken the Mangekyō again, one must go through the same emotional and mental ordeal as before—a process nearly impossible to replicate.

Thus, the "exploit" to duplicate Mangekyō failed.

Ordinary Sharingan could already be cloned via Orochimaru's black-tech methods, but their usefulness was limited. Non-Uchiha users like Kakashi Hatake suffered massive chakra drain from them—so much so that even his Kage-level reserves were worn down to exhaustion.

If even Kakashi was drained like that, ordinary ninja wouldn't stand a chance.

For Uchiha, cloned Sharingan had some utility—mainly as spares for emergencies, used like "extra lives" if one's eyes were damaged. But they still needed advanced medical ninjutsu to transplant effectively.

Interestingly, the Hyūga Clan gained a major potential benefit from cloning—opening the way to create the Tenseigan.

In the original Boruto-era movie, years after the Fourth Shinobi World War, the moon's Ōtsutsuki appeared, leading to Toneri Ōtsutsuki and his giant Tenseigan.

One way to create a Tenseigan is by fusing numerous Byakugan together. The moon's Hyūga-descended Ōtsutsuki—direct descendants of Hamura—had done exactly this, creating a massive Tenseigan.

The Tenseigan is equal in rank to the Rinnegan, and in destructive power may even surpass it. In his debut, Toneri completely overwhelmed Six Paths-level Naruto—despite his own lack of combat experience.

Had Toneri been a seasoned fighter like Madara Uchiha, Naruto wouldn't have stood a chance.

But the method to obtain a Tenseigan was horrific—requiring the sacrifice of countless Byakugan bearers. In the original story, Toneri consumed the entire lunar Ōtsutsuki clan's accumulated Byakugan and lives to achieve it.

This cruelty made it a forbidden act, its method erased from Hyūga knowledge—perhaps intentionally, to prevent disaster.

Now, with Orochimaru's perfected cloning tech, the cruelty could be bypassed. In theory, all that was needed was enough high-quality Byakugan samples. Clones could be mass-produced and fused into a giant Tenseigan, then into a real Tenseigan.

Whether it would work still needed testing—but for now, Orochimaru's priority was Black Zetsu research. Rinnegan cloning came first; Tenseigan research could wait.

Meanwhile, the freed Tailed Beasts were not released to roam free.

Unlike the original story's postwar peace, both Konohas had other plans—they were too valuable as superpowered genjutsu-network signal towers.

In the Main World, Kurama had already played this role, able to project his chakra remotely within his signal range. While floating signal stations existed, they lacked the full multi-functionality of Tailed Beast "towers."

Now, with the acquisition of the One-Tail through Seven-Tails, they could all be put to work.

To ensure cooperation, they were brought into the Illusionary Great World—where they met both Nine-Tails: the boss "Sett" version from World No. 2, and the Main World's heavenly fox form, Tamamo-no-Mae.

Upon seeing them, the Tailed Beasts froze in utter shock.
