UK:GSW Chapter 462 – Sage of Six Paths: You Impostors!
"My Mother, how is she doing?"
When Uchiha Kei stepped out from the genjutsu micro-world specially prepared for Otsutsuki Kaguya, Otsutsuki Hamura immediately came forward with concern.
In response, Uchiha Kei smiled and made an OK gesture. "Don't worry! The ancestor Kaguya is very satisfied with her current life, and she's willing to wait patiently. Considering that, as a long-lived being, her sense of time is completely different from mortals, even if she had to wait eight or ten years, she wouldn't think it's long. So, we have plenty of time to slowly change her mind."
He paused, then his expression turned serious. "However, Senior Hamura, I don't think it's right for you to keep avoiding this. If you have the chance, you should meet with the ancestor Kaguya in person and talk things out with her."
"After all, you are her son, and your personality is much better than the ancestor Hagoromo's. At least in terms of attitude toward her, you are definitely more capable of speaking to her kindly."
After hearing this, Otsutsuki Hamura was silent for a while before finally sighing and nodding. "Mm, I will. Give me some time to prepare. When I'm ready, I will go see Mother."
Hearing this, Uchiha Kei said nothing more. He had said what needed to be said. This was their ancestors' own business—though he was a blood descendant, he didn't want to meddle too much.
As for "winning over" Otsutsuki Kaguya, he had his own methods, which he would continue to advance. For this rather pure-hearted ancestor, as long as one understood what she wanted and what she was concerned about, then addressed those pain points, she was actually much easier to deal with than many others.
At least, much simpler than persuading Uchiha Madara back then.
Of course, that was also because circumstances were different—back then resources were scarce and times were hard, while now resources were abundant and diverse. It couldn't be compared directly.
The two of them left the genjutsu world, leaving a special signal transmitter at Otsutsuki Kaguya's sealing site before departing.
Before leaving, they stationed several Super White Zetsu there as guards, and Uchiha Kei even rewarded them in advance, letting them once again savor the taste of the "Great Intestine Taste Bud Technique."
Naturally, the White Zetsu had to raise their right arms at a forty-five-degree angle to show loyalty.
One could only say—truly loyal.
After returning to the ninja world, Uchiha Kei looked at Otsutsuki Hamura and said, "Senior Hamura, the time has come. The matter with the ancestor Hagoromo—it's time to settle it."
Hamura nodded without hesitation. "Mm, indeed. I've already prepared myself for this matter."
In other words—when it came to his mother, he felt guilt and hesitation, choosing to avoid her for now, but when it came to his dear elder brother, he could strike decisively.
Truly brotherly love.
It was clear that Hamura had learned a great deal during his time in the learning space. Though only half a year had passed in the real world, to Hamura it had been a learning experience of nearly sixty years.
Sixty years—an incredible amount of study time. And as Kaguya's son, though he hadn't inherited the Otsutsuki clan's full long-life traits, most of his attributes were still inherited, granting him a superhuman brain.
Without discarding his brainpower due to overwhelming physical strength like certain caped superheroes, Hamura had become a master in science, philosophy, the humanities, and more.
By truly understanding many things, Hamura realized just how crude and simplistic it was when he and his brother sealed their mother and created the ninja world in their own way. Now, it was pure black history.
Back then, Hamura had acted mostly at the request and persuasion of the Sage of Six Paths, and so naturally much of his lingering resentment was directed toward Hagoromo.
Not enough to be hatred, but enough to justify some "brotherly love."
In the original story, the Sage of Six Paths, Otsutsuki Hagoromo, remained hidden in the Pure Land, existing as its creator and ruler—essentially the god of the underworld of the ninja world. To make him appear, he had to come out on his own; even by the Boruto era, there was no way to force him to appear.
Of course, by Boruto's time, the Sage of Six Paths might not have even existed anymore.
In any case, up to Boruto's era, he was always a background figure, his only battle appearance being in flashbacks, and in the main story he appeared only to "power up" Naruto and Sasuke, his two sons' chakra reincarnations.
And just from that, Naruto and Sasuke instantly became strong enough to suppress Ten-Tails Jinchuriki Madara, and later defeated Kaguya together. So while Hagoromo's actions were strange, he was undeniably powerful.
Such a being—Uchiha Kei had no idea how to make him appear on his own. It wasn't like in certain fanfics where you could threaten his "sons" Naruto and Sasuke.
Besides, there was no guarantee it would work, and the Naruto and Sasuke here were from Ninja World No. 2. Who knew if the main world's Sage of Six Paths would care? So that was out of the question.
As for Ninja World No. 2, that was the Boruto world with many anime-original arcs—completely different from the main world, which was a one-to-one replica of the Shippuden world. No one knew what might happen if they dragged that world's Sage out prematurely. So for now, they would leave him alone.
Only after the main world was fully prepared would they take action there.
Targeting the Sage of Six Paths was one of those preparations, and an extremely important one, because his power-up ability was crucial for Uchiha Kei and his group.
In the whole ninja world, few could force the Sage of Six Paths out—perhaps none. But Otsutsuki Hamura was an exception. As the younger brother of the Sage, the ancestor of the Hyuga clan had the means to locate his elder brother directly.
In fact, half a year ago, Hamura had asked if they should dig his brother out, but Uchiha Kei refused, as the timing wasn't right.
Now, with all preparations complete, it was time to execute the final step.
Thus, Uchiha Kei and Otsutsuki Hamura came to a very hidden location—outside the ninja continent, on a remote deep-sea island never shown in the original story.
Along with them came Naruto and Uchiha Sasuke.
The island looked unremarkable—an uninhabited barren island. But under Hamura's control, hidden mechanisms were triggered, the island trembled, and an invisible barrier opened, revealing a passage leading underground at its center.
Sasuke and Naruto looked around curiously. Both knew the goal was to meet this world's Sage of Six Paths, and both knew they were the chakra reincarnations of his two sons in Ninja World No. 2. Their feelings were understandably complicated.
Of course, they wouldn't admit to being the Sage's sons, and Uchiha Kei and Hamura had said the same: while they had Indra's and Asura's chakra, they were still Uchiha Sasuke and Naruto, just as Uchiha Madara and Hashirama Senju had been the "Shura of the Ninja World" and the "God of Shinobi" respectively.
Following Hamura's lead, the group entered the passage.
A space-transfer technique activated—similar to the Flying Raijin Jutsu, but more stable. However, unlike the highly flexible Flying Raijin, this was fixed-point teleportation. Change the destination, and it failed.
It showed that while the Sage had studied space-time transfer, he was far inferior to Tobirama Senju's later-developed Flying Raijin Jutsu.
After all, that earlier era was primitive, the Otsutsuki brothers' power being natural-born divine strength, their clan's hereditary might. Ninjutsu itself had only been developed later by Hagoromo's son, Indra.
In terms of skill, Hagoromo was hardly a master—just someone whose bloodline let him smash problems aside.
After the teleportation, the group arrived in a hidden underground space. Blue flames lit up, casting an eerie, ghostly light—like stepping into the underworld.
Then, a ghostly blue fireball appeared in the center, quickly taking form—the aged spirit of the Sage of Six Paths, exactly as seen in the original story.
Horns on his head, spiky hair, a white robe decorated with magatama, Rinnegan in both eyes, a blood-red Rinnegan on his forehead, a long pointed beard—his aged appearance radiated authority and oppressive presence.
If you ignored his questionable actions, he was the undisputed top-tier background figure of the ninja world.
Unfortunately, he did have many questionable actions. For example, now—upon seeing them, Hamura frowned deeply and asked gravely, "Who exactly are you people?"
At this, Uchiha Kei and the others fell silent, their expressions hard to keep in check, all glancing at Hamura—whose face was twitching the most.
After all, he was the Sage's younger brother, and his own elder couldn't recognize him!
Still, Hamura could understand—either Hagoromo truly didn't recognize him, or recognized him but couldn't confirm.
After becoming a Heroic Spirit, some fundamental aspects had changed, and his younger appearance was indeed unfamiliar to Hagoromo.
On top of that, though Hamura was truly Hamura, Naruto and Sasuke were also the chakra reincarnations of Hagoromo's sons—he could sense it, but they were not from the main world. The world's "imprint" was different.
Thus, Hagoromo's reaction was cold. To him, this was a group of almost-but-not-quite people—a normal person's reaction to a bunch of impostors.
Frankly, not attacking outright showed remarkable patience.
Of course, it might also be that in his current state, Hagoromo couldn't fight at all—just as in the original story, where he never showed combat ability after death, only top-tier support skills.
Any posthumous battle feats existed only in fanfiction.
You could say Hagoromo was a "character" with great contrast between lore and personality—an "ancient existence" with conflicting traits.
After all, in lore, the Sage of Six Paths held the rank of "God of Creation and Destruction," a true super-dimensional being.
But such a being was relegated to a background role—and now his reaction confirmed the gap between hype and reality.
Hamura stepped forward. "Elder Brother, you truly aren't what you once were. You can't even tell my situation apart. Seeing you like this truly saddens me."
Hagoromo frowned, staring deeply at Hamura. "Who are you… No, while you feel similar to my younger brother, your soul is different. You impostor, don't think you can deceive me!"
As he spoke, a fierce, cutting pressure radiated from him—the fury of an elder brother and ancestor toward a vile outsider pretending to be his beloved younger sibling.
Hamura was silent for a moment, then exhaled deeply. "Elder Brother, I understand your suspicion. My soul has indeed changed—because I am now a Heroic Spirit. That's why I'm different from before."
"If you don't believe me, then I can only tell you secrets that only you and I would know."
Hagoromo was taken aback—something felt off.
Hamura stepped closer and began whispering. Hagoromo's frown deepened, then turned to shock, then to hesitation, and finally to a very complicated, mixed expression.
In the end, Hagoromo accepted it. He said no more about impostors—because some things truly only he and his younger brother knew, details known to no one else.
