Chapter 462: Uchiha Madara Applies to Join the Konoha Alliance
The ninja academy would never teach things like this.
Before his death, Nawaki had been under Orochimaru's tutelage. For someone like Orochimaru—a mad scientist of the shinobi world—even taking the time to occasionally guide Nawaki's training had been a miracle, let alone teaching such nuanced practical techniques.
Uchiha Madara stated firmly, "Of course!"
And this time, he wasn't bluffing.
The name "Shinobi Shura of the Warring States" wasn't just for show. In those chaotic years, most ninjas would flee the moment they heard his name.
Even after Konoha was founded, some ignorant children would burst into tears at the mere sight of him.
As for Hashirama… never mind him!
"Then I'll give it a try."
Nawaki, obedient as ever, restrained his smile and tried to mimic Madara's expressionless demeanor.
Madara studied him closely and gave a slight nod of approval.
Suppressing the strange flutter in his chest, Madara said calmly, "Let's go. Time to continue hunting corrupted monsters."
Learning that his current strength was—as Obito had said—barely considered average in this new world, might have made someone else crumble.
But not him.
He was the same man who had carved his name into the war-torn world of old. He believed that even in this era of the Samsara Game, he could once again rise to the top.
"Uncle Madara, why not join the Konoha Alliance now?"
After hunting two [Expellers], Nawaki handed over the loot to Uncle Madara.
He hadn't forgotten his original goal—
To recruit this suddenly-appearing, ridiculously talented uncle into the Konoha Alliance.
That was why he had so enthusiastically helped Madara understand the mechanics of the Samsara Game. Otherwise, no matter how warm-hearted, Nawaki wasn't in the habit of helping strangers for nothing.
"No problem."
Madara did not refuse. He gave a simple nod.
A black system message popped up.
[Nawaki has invited you to join the [Konoha Alliance]. Do you accept?]
"Accept."
[Application submitted. Awaiting approval from the Clan Leader.]
As a clan member, Nawaki had the right to invite new players—but final approval still lay with the Clan Leader and high-ranking officers.
...
Hokage's Conference Room
Wearing the Hokage's robes and monkey-skin disguise, Shimura Danzo was in the middle of a fiery speech during the weekly Hokage meeting, passionately declaring his grand vision.
Suddenly, a system chime interrupted his thoughts.
A new player had applied to join the Konoha Alliance.
Most faction leaders disabled notifications during important meetings to avoid distractions.
But Danzo was a special case.
Every time a new player joined, the approval had to go through him. He found it immensely satisfying.
"Uchiha Madara?"
Danzo's brow furrowed as he stared at the name on the request.
Other Konoha officials, clan heads, and even Asuma from the Mobile Division were visibly confused by what they heard.
Until they saw the application form—and the applicant's name.
Uchiha Madara.
The air fell silent.
Danzo scowled. "A prank? Or is this some kind of provocation?"
It wasn't unheard of.
Every faction occasionally received strange applications.
Sunagakure's Rasa frequently got requests from the so-called "Spirits of Pakura's Vengeance."
The Navy Alliance once received an application from "Olahar's Curse."
Kirigakure had been contacted by "Victims of the Bloody Mist."
Clearly,
Every faction had skeletons in the closet. Enemies liked to dig them up and twist the knife.
A person claiming to be "Uchiha Madara" was clearly one of these troll accounts.
"Wait... it says the applicant was invited—by Nawaki?"
Tsunade noticed the inviter's name—her younger brother.
Danzo saw it too. He immediately asked, "Tsunade, your brother Nawaki invited someone claiming to be Uchiha Madara? Has he forgotten the Uchiha clan's sins against Konoha?"
"I trust Nawaki. He wouldn't joke about something like this."
Tsunade had originally wanted to ask Nawaki for more details—but Danzo's snide tone made her snap.
It was just a game nickname.
So what if someone called themselves Uchiha Madara? It wasn't like he could actually shake up the world.
"Tsunade, this is a Hokage meeting. Mind your tone!"
Danzo's brows furrowed. Though he'd been planning to reject the application, he now deliberately hit "approve."
He said coldly, "Since you claim Nawaki wouldn't joke about this, then this so-called Uchiha Madara is now a member of the Konoha Alliance."
"If anything goes wrong—it's all on Nawaki."
Unlike Earth's MMOs,
In the Samsara Game, players couldn't be expelled from a clan easily. Once accepted, kicking someone out required paying a heavy compensation cost.
"You…"
Tsunade's face was filled with disappointment. She couldn't believe her once-principled teacher had become this petty.
Asuma said nothing.
But his face mirrored Tsunade's dismay—perhaps even more so.
After all, he was Sarutobi Hiruzen's actual son, and yet he stood on the opposite side of Danzo.
"Damn it... no red flags at all? What's going on?"
Asuma could no longer focus on the meeting. Anxiety gnawed at him.
Not long ago, elite members of the Mobile Division with soul-perception abilities had sensed something off about his father, Hiruzen.
Though Danzo wore Hiruzen's skin and maintained his biological form,
He had once become Hiruzen's familiar due to the Third Hokage's soft-heartedness—they were essentially dual-souled in a single body.
That's how Danzo maintained such a flawless disguise.
But time left marks.
Even with high compatibility, the body would eventually show signs of separation—ones only elite sensory players could detect.
However, whenever Asuma brought such players near Danzo,
Everything would return to normal, with no trace of the anomaly.
It baffled Asuma.
He felt the change in his father's personality and methods—but every time he tested it, the results were clean.
What was going on?!
...
Fear of exposure.
That was what made Danzo so impatient.
He wanted to achieve something grand—something that would eclipse even Hashirama and Tobirama, and utterly outshine Sarutobi Hiruzen.
His first plan was to suppress the ninja clans and complete Tobirama's unfinished mission.
But he hadn't anticipated such a fierce backlash.
Even with the support of Konoha's lower-tier players, the current standoff left him only slightly ahead.
In hindsight, Tobirama's gradual frog-boiling strategy might have worked better than Danzo's blunt force approach.
But Danzo would never admit fault.
Instead, he blamed the Shadow Organization for not being strong enough to crush the clans.
His second plan was to hunt the zombie-world boss, Corpse Jiao.
He wanted the Konoha Alliance to dominate the Samsara Game rankings—and then absorb all the solo players.
But an unknown squad called "Team Anya" snatched the first kill. Plan two failed.
The third plan: claim the first dark-gold boss kill of the new season.
Also failed—taken by the Navy Alliance.
Danzo had hoped to pull off a stunning achievement, reveal his true identity, and take the Hokage title under his own name.
Once victorious, no one would oppose him.
But fate seemed determined to humiliate him at every turn.
Still, luck was on his side. Though the [True Name Revival] plan had been delayed,
His soul and Hiruzen's flesh had only started to slightly separate. No full exposure yet.
"Could this be destiny? Even the heavens want me to become the one true Hokage!"
As Danzo muttered to himself in growing excitement,
To his right,
A man with a calm smile, who had remained silent throughout, merely observing and taking notes—Konoha's Moonlight, Aizen Sōsuke—pushed up his black-rimmed glasses.
