Now Miles' field was empty, and Kaiba's field held the God of the Earth, the embodiment of overwhelming destruction.
"Now the situation is reversed, Miles!"
Kaiba thrust his arm forward, immediately entering the Battle Phase.
Obelisk's Attack was 4000. And Miles' remaining Life Points were… 1.
"Before the scorching gale of Obelisk the Tormentor that strips the earth bare—vanish! Obelisk, direct attack!"
With Kaiba's roar, Obelisk raised his massive blue arm, aiming a land-shattering punch at Miles.
"Take this—Divine Fist Impact!!"
"I activate my Set card!"
There was absolutely no way Miles could take an Obelisk punch head-on. Without hesitation, he flipped his Set Trap.
"Continuous Trap—Court of Cards!"
[Once per turn, if you control no monsters except 'Queen's Knight', 'Jack's Knight', or 'King's Knight': You can Special Summon 1 of those monsters from your hand or GY.]
"I Special Summon King's Knight from my Graveyard in Defense Position—to block Obelisk's strike!"
King's Knight burst forth from the Court's light, raising his golden KING shield as he bravely stepped forward to take the blow for Miles.

Even though the 4000-point lethal damage was intercepted, the sheer force behind the God's punch still blasted Miles across the desert, the shockwave piercing through the shattered shield.
"Miles!!" Dark Aisha and Kaima cried out together.
Miles tumbled through the ancient sands, badly battered—no better than Kaiba had been when struck by Ra's divine flames.
"A God-battle truly never lets you relax for a second…!"
One turn of overwhelming advantage could disappear the very next. The clashes of Gods overturned the battlefield at every moment.
Wiping the sand from his eyes, Miles forced them open.
But what appeared before him was not the Duel Field—
It was Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder.
Miles caught it clearly.
When a God Card descended, Zeus—the ancient god-slaying weapon—reacted.
This time, Miles was certain it wasn't his imagination.
When Ra's Sphere Mode appeared, Zeus' mechanical eyes flashed red for an instant.
Then Ra's divine flames shook the sands loose, revealing more of Zeus' buried body.
And just now, after Obelisk's punch, the broken chest plates of Zeus flickered with crackling electrical light.
A weapon from a prehistoric civilization, responding differently to each God Card.
"So… not just three thousand years. Even across ten thousand years… you refuse to die in peace?"
Miles didn't yet understand the meaning behind Zeus' reactions.
Regardless, seeing the ancient machine, battered by millennia, still resisting its fate, something ignited within his Duelist soul.
"Come on then, Kaiba—let's continue!"
Still aching from Obelisk's blow, Miles stood again; his fighting spirit burning even brighter.
"A stubborn fool… exactly like him!"
With Obelisk unable to attack further this turn, Kaiba flicked down a pale-blue AR card.
"I Set one card. Turn end. Struggle as much as you like, Miles!"
"My turn—draw!"
Miles drew his next card.
From the Pharaoh's Deck… from Atem's very soul… this draw revealed the ritual version of the primordial Black Luster Soldier.
Staring at the card, a distant memory flickered within Miles' mind.
"The ultimate knight's blade hidden within the Pharaoh's Deck… So that's it… There was still such a possibility for battle!"
Having confirmed the tactic to counterattack Obelisk, Miles drew forth the blades of the Poker Knights sleeping in his Graveyard.
"I activate the effect of the Continuous Trap—Court of Cards! I banish all three Poker Knights from my Graveyard, then draw 3 cards from my Deck!"
Three silver-blazing knightly sword-lights carved arcs across the sky and fell into Miles' hands.
"Next, I activate the Spell Card—Graceful Charity! I draw 3 cards, then discard 2 from my hand!"
By the presence of the ritual monster Black Luster Soldier, Miles inferred something crucial; if he was right, then the Pharaoh's Deck must contain that card.
"Draw…! There it is!"
Another three draws confirmed his suspicion.
"By Graceful Charity's effect, I discard the Ritual Monster Black Luster Soldier and The Light - Hex-Sealed Fusion to the Graveyard!"
"Black Luster Soldier?" Kaiba muttered, the familiar name making him tense instinctively.
"Kaiba, using this card, I'll awaken the strongest knight born from the memories of your battles alongside your eternal rival!"
Miles hurled a Spell toward Kaiba's AR Graveyard.
"I activate the Spell Card—Double Spell!"

"I choose the Spell in your Graveyard—Dragon's Mirror—and activate it!"
The moment Miles selected it, Double Spell's card face shifted—becoming Dragon's Mirror.

"So you copied Dragon's Mirror… Miles, don't tell me, you intend to…!"
"Do you remember it, Seto Kaiba? The greatest knight reigning atop the domain of dragons!"
Miles activated Dragon's Mirror, banishing the Fusion Materials from his Graveyard: Black Luster Soldier and The Light - Hex-Sealed Fusion.

Within the blazing silhouette produced by the substituted Fusion Material—the form was unmistakable: three dragon heads, the iconic might of the Ultimate Dragon.
"I use Fusion Parasite as a substitute for Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon—then fuse it with the Black Luster Soldier in my Graveyard!"
Kisara gasped: "He fused Black Luster Soldier… with Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon in this form!?"
Despite his Deck not containing Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon at all, Miles had still achieved the highest pinnacle of fusion through Dragon's Mirror.
This was the ultimate knight's blade; the very power hidden within the Pharaoh's Deck, capable even of opposing Gods.
"Let the legendary dragon knight of ancient myth split the heavens—Fusion Summon! Dragon Master Knight!"
