He declared entry into the Battle Phase. Across the ancient Egyptian sky, the Dragon Master Knight loomed like a sovereign descending from on high, its chaos-forged blade of light and darkness entwined with the explosive radiance of the Ultimate Dragon.
"Battle target—Obelisk the Tormentor! Go, Dragon Master Knight!"
Descending from the heavens, the sword strike shattered the very sky, a roar of Chaos Warrior and Ultimate Dragon combined, unleashing its full 5000 Attack.
"Ultimate Galaxy Severing Slash!!"
"Hmph. Dragon Master Knight! Still far too naive, Miles!"
Kaiba confidently flipped his Set card.
After activating the Quick-Play Spell Soul Crossing earlier, Kaiba was under a severe restriction: until the end of Miles's turn, he could only activate one more card effect.
The cost of wielding a God. Kaiba knew full well he had to survive these two turns to unleash the Tormentor's infinite destruction.
"The blade you've unearthed from forgotten memories, the Dragon Master Knight, will simply become part of my strength! I activate the Trap—Draining Shield!"

"Curse it… even Dragon Master Knight can't break through!?" Dark Aisha lamented.
Kaima added, "But even if this attack was absorbed, it doesn't change the fact that Dragon Master Knight's Attack is still higher than Obelisk's! Next turn, Miles can continue the fight!"
Miles slammed a card into his Duel Disk.
"I Set one card. Turn end!"
The fated battle beneath the Egyptian sky raged on, neither side yielding.
Kaiba's Obelisk and Miles's Dragon Master Knight split the entire domain space down the middle—two titans facing one another.
"Hmph. Continue the fight?"
Hearing Kaima's comment, Kaiba scoffed and drew for his turn, raising the card toward the deity on his field.
"This turn, I'll unleash Obelisk the Tormentor's strongest power and end this Duel right here!"
"Obelisk's strongest power?" Kaima blinked, suddenly realizing—
Obelisk… had not yet used its effect.
And a God's effect was no ordinary monster's.
"I activate the Spell—Dimension Fusion!"

Kaiba hurled the AR card. A dimensional rift tore open, and within the swirling fusion of light, the two Blue-Eyes White Dragons banished by Dragon's Mirror soared forth.
"Return to my field—Blue-Eyes White Dragons!"
"ROOOAAAR!!"

"If Dimension Fusion is used, Miles can Special Summon too!"
Kaima was indeed trying her best to keep morale up.
And indeed. Though Miles's revived monsters were weaker individually, he had more banished monsters than Kaiba.
"I Special Summon the Poker Knights from my banished zone in Defense Position!"
J, Q, and K returned, forming a shield around the massive Dragon Master Knight.
"No matter how many small fry stand in the way, they cannot stop Obelisk the Tormentor's absolute power of destruction!"
With Obelisk and two Blue-Eyes on his field, three monsters total, Kaiba had met the condition for Obelisk's ultimate effect.
The domain itself shook.
Kaiba roared forward.
"Obelisk the Tormentor—activate your effect!!"

Obelisk seized both Blue-Eyes, absorbing their dragon-souls into a cataclysmic surge of divine destruction. Soul Energy MAX illuminated heaven and earth.
Destruction and a direct attack… or infinite Attack.
The strongest move of the Egyptian Gods.
"I wipe out all your monsters, and Obelisk attacks you directly, Miles!"
[King's Knight destroyed]
[Queen's Knight destroyed]
[Jack's Knight destroyed]
The Poker Knights were annihilated, as Obelisk ignored the 5000 ATK Dragon Master Knight, hurling its soul‑shattering punch toward Miles.
"Across three thousand years of memory—this battle is MINE, Miles! Yu↗gi↘!!"
"Divine Fist Shatterwave!!!"
"No, Kaiba!!"
Facing a world‑ending blow, Miles whipped a card from his hand.
"I activate the effect of the hand trap—Ankuriboh!"

Kaiba burst into triumphant laughter as Obelisk's fist wind tore across the dunes.

Obelisk's effect specifically destroys all of Miles's monsters first, then attacks him, not the monster.
Even Dragon Master Knight could not block it.
Yet, Miles's eyes did not waver.
"I can stop it, Kaiba. Using this card!"
Across the Egyptian sky, Ra's flames ignited once more—reborn from the Graveyard as a phoenix.
"A God shall block a God! Ankuriboh's effect—Special Summon The Winged Dragon of Ra from my Graveyard!"
The Millennium Puzzle on Miles's chest flared, and he chanted a summoning incantation utterly different from before.
From the flames, a reborn divine form emerged—the Phoenix God.
"When the time comes, the God shall resurrect. Reborn as the Phoenix to lay the wicked to rest in the earth! Awaken—God Phoenix!"
At that moment, God clashed with God.
The domain trembled.
And the god‑slaying spearhead that had slept for ten thousand years… finally awakened.
