Latest Chapter of Clark in the Marvel Universe!
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Just as Loki knelt down and no one had reacted yet, a red figure quickly approached from the sky. Moments later, a barrage of small missiles wiped out all of Loki's clones.
"It's Iron Man!""Iron Man saved us!"
When the crowd saw who it was, cheers erupted.
Though Iron Man's headquarters was in New York, he frequently traveled to the Middle East to combat terrorists. As a result, he was internationally known—second only to Superman. Currently, the world officially recognized only two superheroes: Superman and Iron Man.
But that didn't stop everyone present from instantly recognizing who he was. After all, the only person in the world with a red steel suit like that was the famously flamboyant playboy—Tony Stark. Once they realized it was Iron Man, everyone knew they were safe.
However, their so-called savior Tony didn't feel as optimistic. All the Loki duplicates had vanished. According to his system's readings, Tony knew all of his attacks had landed—but that was exactly the problem.
Tony didn't know how Loki had created so many clones, but he was sure they had been real. And yet, after one round of attacks, every single one had disappeared—leaving not even a trace of flesh or blood.
"Jarvis, can you scan his exact location?"Tony couldn't see Loki, but he was certain the trickster god was still nearby.
"Sir, be careful—there's a high-frequency energy spike behind you."Jarvis hadn't located Loki himself, but had detected a high-energy reaction behind Tony.
"Damn it!"Hearing this, Tony instantly understood what was happening. Loki was right behind him—preparing to ambush.
But Tony also knew there was a group of civilians right in front of him. If he moved, Loki's attack would land on them. Without hesitation, Tony steeled himself to take the hit.
Boom! Boom!
Just as Loki raised his scepter and unleashed an energy blast, the attack was intercepted by a figure descending from the sky.
"Diana! You really are Wonder Woman!"
Watching Diana cross her arms to block the attack, Tony felt like the world had gone insane. First Superman, now Wonder Woman—characters from DC Comics were appearing in real life. What next, teleportation?
After blocking Loki's strike, Diana didn't answer Tony. Instead, she launched herself toward Loki.
Loki barely had time to raise his scepter to block her.
Boom!
The enormous power gap between them caused Loki to be sent flying with a single punch, crashing into a lamp post.
"Wait! I know who you are! I don't think there needs to be conflict between us. In fact, I believe we could work together!"
Scrambling to his feet and seeing Diana approaching, Loki gripped his scepter horizontally and backed away. Hawkeye had told him about her.
Diana—Wonder Woman—daughter of Zeus. Like Loki, she was seen by Earthlings as a god. Loki figured if he could win her over, he'd have more leverage against S.H.I.E.L.D.
"How could we work together?"Diana was unsure how to respond.
"I have the Tesseract. Unlike S.H.I.E.L.D., I can send you home. Of course, if you don't want to go, that's fine too. Just help me, and when I become king of this realm, you will be the queen of Midgard."Knowing Diana had come here by accident, Loki assumed he understood her desires.
Even if he guessed wrong, he could always try to manipulate her.
But Loki had clearly skipped one important step—reading Wonder Woman comics. If he had, he might've known that based on Diana's character, she'd never agree to such a thing.
Sure enough, Diana merely shook her head and charged him again.
However, Loki was the God of Mischief. His conversation had a dual purpose—partly to manipulate Diana, but also to buy time for casting a spell.
So when Diana's punch landed, she immediately sensed something was wrong—her fist hadn't struck flesh. It had passed through Loki.
But Diana was a seasoned warrior. As soon as she realized her attack had failed, she crossed her arms again. The two silver bracers on her wrists clashed together.
Clang—!
With a crisp metallic sound, the bracers released all the energy they had absorbed from Loki's earlier attack.
A shockwave exploded outward from Diana's arms, destroying everything in its path. Behind Diana, Tony watched as a figure was knocked out of invisibility.
No—it wasn't invisibility. More like being knocked out of an intangible state.
At that moment, Captain America finally arrived. With a well-timed kick, he knocked Loki's scepter out of his hand. Cap knew from the files that most of Loki's power came from that scepter.
"Whew—looks like I made it just in time to grab an assist."
"Yeah, if you'd been any later, we'd be toast."Tony stepped forward, aimed his repulsor at Loki, and quipped:"So, what now, Bambi?"
Deprived of his scepter, staring down weapons, and with a fellow god—especially a melee-type like Diana—standing nearby, Loki could only raise his hands in surrender.
Still, he looked up at the sky in confusion. Where were his reinforcements?
Getting captured had been part of his plan—but not like this. He had a better strategy, but now he was unsure where it had gone wrong.
Loki had received a message that reinforcements were on the way. The Chitauri were still waiting for him to open a space portal with the Tesseract. So where were they?
"Judging by your face, those aliens were your doing."Tony studied Loki's expression. Based on their prior deductions, it was clear the aliens had been discovered by Loki—but driven off by Clark.
"Aliens… So you do know about them. What now—scared?"Loki smiled on the surface, but inside, he realized his backup had likely failed.
Because none of these people looked even slightly worried.
"Sorry, looks like your friends won't be coming after all. Next time, you'll have to be alone."Cap said as he pulled Loki up and walked him toward the freshly landed Quinjet.
"Guess Loki didn't have any surprises left."
Far off in space, Clark finally breathed a sigh of relief after seeing Tony and the others successfully capture Loki.
After all, the story's progression had confused him. The Battle of New York hadn't even begun, and yet alien invaders were already arriving.
After confirming that Diana and the others were safe, Clark looked toward the three escaping alien ships.
Earlier, when Clark detonated the energy field, it had only partially damaged the ships—disabling their ability to jump, but not their basic interstellar navigation.
So if the captains realized they could still escape the solar system, they might call the Accusers and ask for pickup.
But would Clark let them escape?
Obviously not.
