Latest Chapter of Clark in the Marvel Universe!
"I have a bad feeling… Don't you think he surrendered a little too easily?"Steve Rogers glanced at Loki and quietly spoke to Tony and Diana. He couldn't quite put it into words, but something about Loki's surrender didn't sit right with him.
"I feel the same," Diana added. "Actually, he had several chances to escape along the way. From the moment he appeared to the moment we arrived, he never tried to leave. It was almost like he was waiting for us."
Indeed, Diana had seen Loki escape before. With his stealth abilities, under normal circumstances, they wouldn't even be able to detect him.
"What's so wrong about this rockstar wannabe choosing to surrender?"Tony also felt something was off, but seeing Steve brought up a certain irritation in him.
"He didn't surrender quietly. He resisted quite hard at first," Steve noted, glancing at Tony.
"…"Tony immediately understood what Steve was implying.
"Hey! I didn't dodge because I wanted to protect the people behind me!"Clearly, Tony was still very sensitive about the fact that he was the only one who got attacked during the whole ordeal.
Boom!
Suddenly, the previously clear sky above was filled with dark clouds. Lightning flashed through the growing storm.
"This storm came on too fast…"Natasha stared out the window at the churning clouds, a deep frown on her face. Her instincts told her this was no ordinary weather.
"What's wrong? Afraid of thunder or lightning?"Steve turned toward Loki and noticed something off about his expression. It wasn't fear—but… was it caution?
"This isn't a thunderstorm. It's the Bifrost. And no, I'm not afraid—I just hate late arrivals."Loki sighed helplessly, looking at Steve.
The Bifrost had activated, which could only mean one thing: Thor was on his way.
"The Bifrost?! Who's coming?!"Natasha clearly knew about the Bifrost. S.H.I.E.L.D. had already made contact with the Asgardian god of thunder.
Just as she spoke, a massive, cylindrical storm descended from the center of the clouds not far from the Quinjet and reached the ground.
BOOM!
As the storm landed, both Steve and Tony felt the aircraft shake.
Crash!
A bolt of lightning flashed, followed by a loud clang on the roof of the plane—almost like something, or someone, had landed on it.
"Someone's here!"Tony grabbed his helmet, snapped it onto his face, and opened the hatch:"I'm going out to take a look!"
Boom!
But before Tony could step out, a red-caped figure appeared at the hatch and shoved him back. Tony—encased in hundreds of kilos of armor—was sent flying like a balloon.
Steve instinctively stepped forward to catch him. But with Tony's weight and the force of the blow, Steve was also thrown forward and sent flying.
Natasha, hearing the noise behind her, turned around and saw the new arrival—Thor, the god of thunder from Asgard.
Before she could react, Diana had already realized this newcomer might be an enemy. She charged forward and punched Thor.
Thor hadn't taken her attack seriously at first. After all, how strong could one woman be?
BOOM!
He soon realized how wrong he was. But by then, it was too late.
The punch that had knocked Tony flying now sent Thor flying—out of the Quinjet.
After landing that blow, Diana leapt out of the aircraft and headed toward where Thor had crashed.
"Hey, wait up!"Tony, now back on his feet, shouted as he saw Diana leap out without hesitation.
"Wait—can she fly?"He turned to Steve and Natasha, only to find confused expressions on both of their faces.
"Okay, I'm going after her."Tony leapt from the aircraft, flying toward the spot where Diana had jumped.
As Diana fell through the air, divine lightning surged through her body. Guided by this divine power, she flew swiftly toward Thor's crash site.
"She can fly!"Tony, trailing behind her, was amazed. What is it with these DC people and flying?!
What Tony didn't know was that Diana's ability wasn't true flight. She could only hover or propel herself short distances through divine power.
Thor, dazed mid-air, quickly recovered. Just as he was about to swing his hammer and return to the aircraft, he saw something that nearly shocked him senseless.
The figure that had punched him earlier was now flying toward him, wrapped in lightning. Thor could hardly believe it—wasn't he the god of thunder?
Diana's fist connected with Thor's hammer.
KRAK-KOOOM!!!
The clash produced a massive shockwave that rippled outward in a perfect circle.
The impact sent Thor crashing to the ground like a missile, while the recoil nudged Diana slightly upward.
Boom!
This second blow slammed Thor into a nearby mountain. The impact shattered the peak, and he carved a deep trench across the earth before finally coming to a stop.
"Pah!"Spitting out a mouthful of dirt, Thor shook his golden hair and stared warily at Diana.
"Who are you? How do you possess supernatural power?"
"God of Thunder? She seems more like the god of thunder than you,"Tony remarked, hovering nearby. He'd read the S.H.I.E.L.D. briefings on Thor and Loki—especially the battle in New Mexico.
"Iron Man… Lady…"Thor was visibly shaken by Diana."I don't want to fight you. I only came to take my brother home. He'll be judged under Asgardian law for his crimes."
"So, you know him?"Diana asked, unsure whether Thor was friend or foe. She'd only attacked because he had flung Tony without a word and seemed about to rescue Loki.
Now it seemed the man with the hammer knew Tony?
"I don't know him well,"Tony quickly clarified. Then he turned to Thor and said,"No problem. You can take him—after he gives us the Tesseract. Otherwise… back off, dog."
"Then I'll just have to defeat you and then get my brother."Thor raised his hammer to the sky.
The storm clouds that had cleared with the Bifrost's departure suddenly returned, and a massive bolt of lightning struck Mjolnir.
Now wielding lightning once more, Thor swung his hammer at Tony.
"Looks like we're fighting. Good!"Tony ramped his suit up to full power and fired a repulsor blast at Thor.
Just as the two were about to clash, a golden beam of light descended from the sky.
A figure on horseback landed between them.
It was Clark, having activated Solar Flare Mode.
