Chapter 40 - Chapter 40

After five hours of swimming along the coast of Syrup Village, I managed to acquire two points, and I went to sleep in the Going Merry. I've been wondering for a while now, since the One Piece blue planet is almost as big as Jupiter, and if I had to guess, at the very least, eighty percent of it is made of seawater. I wonder if I'll ever run out of seawater to absorb to get stronger. Well, I really doubt it, but even if that were to happen, that's a problem down the line. Now, let me get some sleep to ease this annoying headache.

After a few hours of sleep, I woke up around seven. Both Zoro and Alvida were already awake. I guess Zoro slept early yesterday; he doesn't seem tired at all.

"Good morning, guys. How is the day going so far for you?"

"Morning, Captain, it's going good. Oh, by the way, did you have a specific time for the long nose to be here?"

"Nah, don't be so worried. Besides, we have to get breakfast first and say goodbye to the nice people who gave us this ship before we leave, so let's go."

Alvida and I get down from the ship, and when we look back, we see Zoro standing up here, sleeping. I thought that Zoro wasn't tired today.

"Don't worry about Captain, I'll just bring him his food here."

"Yeah, let's do that."

Both Alvida and I went to the diner and ordered food, and while we were eating, we heard a noise that was extremely familiar to me because I watched the One Piece anime countless times, but it was the first time I've heard it in person.

"Pirates, Pirates are coming, run for your lives, their bloodlust is unquenchable, save yourselves..."

The sad thing is, if he had said "pirates are here," he would've been telling the truth. I guess he wanted to keep the lying persona until the end, huh. After Usopp finished screaming at the pirates, both he and Zoro came to the diner. Usopp woke him up, screaming that pirates were coming, after we had eaten. We went to see them before we left.

"So you guys are really leaving now?"

"That's right, a pirate is saying I made it when I was just a child. It goes something like this: A true pirate's favorite adventure is usually the next one."

"I like the saying, I'll miss you guys."

"Don't be so sad, Kaya. We are bound to return eventually; it doesn't make sense for friends ever to see one another once in their lives. Besides, you need to study extremely hard to become a doctor."

"A doctor? How did you know I wanted to be a doctor?"

"I thought I told you I'm the type of guy that knows a lot of things besides, if you become good enough, Usopp might tell you stories about his voyages in exchange for you healing his injuries."

"Yeah, knowing Usopp will definitely come back banged up, I need to be a good doctor to take care of him."

"That's right, be sure to look after the three kids he was with; apparently, they were members of his crew going on adventures in the village."

"Sure, they're my friends too. I'll miss you, Captain Ace."

"Well, don't miss us too much, we'll be in the papers pretty soon. The Spade Pirates now have a ship."

"There you are, Alvida, where are Usopp and Zoro?"

"Zoro is helping Usopp put his things on the Merry."

"Kaya, be sure to thank both Merry and Miss Maya for me. The next time we come back, I hope to meet your father as well. He strikes me as a very nice man."
