Lucas said to Evelyn, "The company is still operating. If we want to stop them, we need solid proof. According to your diary, you had secured evidence… the master key."
The room grew quiet again.
"That master key is the only way we can expose them completely," Lucas added. "We need it."
Evelyn looked at him for a moment. Then she shook her head slowly.
"I do not have it," she said.
Lucas frowned slightly. "What do you mean?" he asked.
Evelyn's voice remained steady. "I had already handed it over to my superior before everything happened," she said. "After his death… I do not know where it is now."
Silence filled the room.
Elena looked at her mother. Something felt… off.
Lucas's gaze darkened slightly, but he did not push further.
Reginald, on the other hand, looked confused. "Then… does that mean we cannot expose them?" he asked.
Evelyn did not answer immediately. "I am sorry," she said softly.
