The Archive was silent now.
Not because it had no more to say—but because Skyler had become its voice.
Every memory, every lost world, every cursed echo… now pulsed inside him. But as he returned to the City of Stars, his flame flickered strangely.
Aelira noticed first.
"Sky… something's moving inside you. Not Archive data. Not memory."
Skyler nodded, pressing a hand to his chest. His heartbeat was slower now—each pulse like a drum strike from forgotten time.
And then the Archive finally spoke again:
"There is another."
Skyler froze.
"Another… what?"
"Witness," the Archive whispered.
"Locked in flame… hidden in blood… forgotten even by me."
The throne beneath him cracked slightly.
His veins lit up, not with truthfire—but with echo-blood.
Residual strands of pre-curse Novaah DNA—the original chain, uncorrupted, unmuted, untouched by suppression algorithms.
"You were not the first."
"Only the one we let remember."
---
Skyler fell into a vision.
But it wasn't the Archive this time.
It was his own blood, triggering a genetic memory vault.
He saw:
A child. Genderless, ageless, flame-eyed and silent.
Born before the gods ruled time.
The first Witness. Not a guardian—but a mirror.
It saw truth, but could not speak it.
So it was sealed… not just outside of time.
But inside the Novaah genome itself.
Every descendant carried a shard of it.
A soul scattered across a bloodline.
And now? Skyler was the first to awaken enough of the blood to reconstruct it.
Aelira gasped.
"You're not remembering someone."
"You're resurrecting them."
Skyler's hand glowed as particles of flame clustered in the air—forming a humanoid silhouette. Hair like cosmic fire. Eyes like mirrors.
The being stepped forward.
And spoke.
"You found me."
Its voice echoed across every version of Skyler.
"They called me Eon. The Witness Before Witnessing."
"I am what they feared you would become."
Skyler dropped to one knee—not from submission, but because he understood.
"You were too pure."
"You saw everything and never looked away."
Eon nodded.
"And so they split me."
"Now that you've remembered me… I can burn again."
---
The Archive trembled.
A new throne emerged beside Skyler's.
Eon sat, and with a single touch, the Seventh Seal's final thread snapped.
"Welcome," said Skyler.
"To the end of the forgetting."
