Jay-Jay's POV
I opened the door—and there they were. Kuya, Aries, and Percy.
"Is my brother-in-law okay?" Percy asked, peeking at Keifer.
"First of all," Aries said sharply, "she's my sister, and she's no one's wife!"
"Not yet," Percy grinned. "Will be."
Aries smacked the back of his head. Percy winced, rubbing the spot.
Kuya stepped forward, ignoring them. "Are you okay?" he asked Keifer.
"Yep," Keifer replied casually.
"Do you know who did it?" Kuya asked again, voice calm but serious.
"No, I didn't see who. But… it was a truck," Keifer said.
"You should've been more careful," Percy said, crunching into an apple like this was a picnic.
I smacked his arm. "It's not his fault!" I snapped.
"I didn't say it was," Percy replied, acting innocent.
"But you still implied it!" I said, glaring.
He rolled his eyes. I was about to hit him again—but Felix beat me to it."Thanks," I muttered, sitting back down beside Keifer's bed.
"Oww! Respect your Kuya, Felix!" Percy complained.
"Percy, just shut up," Felix groaned.
"No more 'Kuya'?" Percy frowned dramatically.
"Not until you learn to be smarter and respectful," Felix said, crossing his arms.
Percy's pout deepened. Honestly, at this point, even Felix knew it was hopeless. Percy and "maturity" were two parallel lines that would never meet.
Kuya's phone suddenly rang. He answered it, listened for a few seconds, then said, "What? I'll be right there."
He turned to us. "Guys, I have to go. It's a meeting."
"I'll come too!" Aries said, rushing after him.
The door closed behind them, leaving Percy grinning at me."So… you're staying the night here or what?" he asked.
The Ulupongs didn't even let me speak.
"She's staying with her boyfriend!"
"Husband, actually!"
"Percy, you better keep an eye on them—we don't know what they might do~" Rory teased.
I smacked him hard. "SHH!" I shouted. "A bunch of ulupongs!" 🐍
Percy burst out laughing—really hard. Thank goodness Kuya and Aries were already gone. I sighed and checked the clock.9:38 PM. Already?
"Guys, it's 9:38. Where are you even planning to sleep?" I asked.
"Oh yeah, we're heading home," Blaster said.
"Yeah, bye Jay!" everyone chorused before leaving.
The room went quiet again. I yawned.
"Sleepy already?" Keifer asked, patting the empty space beside him. "Come sleep here."
"Flirt all you want, I'm done," Percy said as he headed out the door.
