Aveline stepped out of the foundation in a daze, as Harry's proclamation kept ringing in her head.
It changed everything. Made their professional relationship complicated.
Now she had to question the way she spoke to him and the words she used, so he wouldn't misunderstand her.
"Why does this keep happening to me?" She questioned in her heart.
There was a time the only thing she had to worry about was working her bones off to help Craig clear up his debts as well as hers.
But now, her biggest worry was stopping her husband's friends from liking her.
"Husband?"
She almost scoffed at that word. It probably was a stretch because he sure as hell didn't even want to be her husband.
He only was for the contract, and she was fully aware of that fact.
"Hello miss?" Someone tapped her shoulders.
She paused and turned to see four people looking weirdly at her.
"Sorry?"
"That woman has been honking at you for a couple minutes now," the woman that tapped her shoulders said.
