Chapter 314 - 《Harry Potter- Ravenclaw》Chapter 182: The Commandment, The Dark Mark

"Harry Potter- Ravenclaw"Chapter 182: The Commandment, The Dark Mark

The clouds overhead grew even heavier, dimming the already pale, silver-gray light.

Luna was starting to look a little tired, her pockets bulging with a bounty of colorful leaves she'd gathered along the way.

As Wyzett and Luna made their way toward the Great Hall, Luna suddenly pointed skyward. "Look! A Patronus!"

A silver miniature phoenix soared through the clouds, swooping down to hover before Wyzett.

The phoenix Patronus beat its wings, and Dumbledore's voice echoed from within: "Wyzett, after your lesson with Severus, please come to my office. The password hasn't changed."

That afternoon, during his private tutorial, Snape continued their exploration of the Universal Antidote, guiding Wyzett deeper into the theory of similia similibus—the principle of using like to treat like in potion-making.

The Universal Antidote, as its name implied, was designed to counteract the effects of most common poisons. It required only three ingredients: bezoar, mistletoe, and powdered unicorn horn.

Most modern specialized antidotes used the Universal Antidote as a base, then added specific ingredients to target particular symptoms or toxins.

For example, the Deflating Draught—used to reduce magical or poisonous swelling—was simply the Universal Antidote with a few drops of leech juice added.

The logic was simple: leeches are known for their shrinking properties, and when combined with the detoxifying effects of the Universal Antidote, the result was a potion that could eliminate magically induced swelling.

The more Wyzett understood this theory of sympathetic properties, the more fascinating potion-brewing became. It felt almost like being a bartender: the Universal Antidote as your "base spirit," then mixing in various magical ingredients to create the perfect "cocktail" for each malady.

He was utterly absorbed, blending the lessons with memories from Salazar Slytherin, discovering new insights at every turn.

Even after dinner, as he made his way to the headmaster's office, his mind was still turning over potion recipes and magical analogies.

"We're here!" Luna's dreamy voice chimed at his side.

Wyzett looked up, realizing Luna had been gently tugging him along by the wrist the whole way, guiding him safely to the office.

"Remember what Madam Pomfrey said!" Luna cleared her throat and mimicked the matron's stern tone. "If he's your friend, make sure he gets his rest! Leave those beds for people who really need them!"

Wyzett grinned and raised his hand in a mock oath. "Alright! I promise I'll be careful!"

Inside the headmaster's office, Wyzett spotted a small silver object on the desk, shaped like a magical badge and etched with intricate patterns.

He recognized symbols for mistletoe, oak, and flames—all common motifs in ritual magic.

Aside from the silver badge, Dobby was also present. But the moment he caught sight of Wyzett, the house-elf clutched his chest and fainted dead away, only managing a feeble "Oh!" before collapsing.

As the Malfoy family's house-elf, Draco had the power to command Dobby—which explained why the elf was stuck here, unable to leave. It must have been one of Draco's orders.

"How curious," Dumbledore said with a wry smile. "We were having quite a pleasant conversation just now… He seems terribly afraid of you."

Wyzett took a seat. "Probably because I used fear as a 'lever' to unlock his memories. Didn't exactly leave a good impression."

He produced a glass vial from his pocket, inside which shimmered a silvery strand.

"Headmaster Dumbledore, this is Dobby's memory. It contains the reason he attacked Harry. I haven't had time to look at it myself…"

"No matter. I'll examine it later." Dumbledore accepted the vial and slid the silver badge toward Wyzett. "Try this—just place your hand on it."

"Headmaster Dumbledore…" Wyzett eyed the badge's markings with curiosity. "What is this?"

"Just give it a try first," Dumbledore said quietly, offering only a brief explanation. "It's a magical testing device. If nothing happens… that's the best possible outcome."

"A magical test?" Wyzett nodded and pressed his hand to the silver badge.

Immediately, his attention was yanked inward by a sudden shift in his mind.

A symbol appeared in his mind's eye—the same serpent design he'd seen after acquiring The Commandment.

Originally, the design had been sinister, a skull entwined with a serpent.

But after he obtained The Commandment, the serpent shattered the skull, leaving only the snake's image.

Now, the serpent's body coiled into the shape of a cross, strikingly similar to the rune "ᚦ."

Compared to the original skull-and-serpent, the new symbol felt less menacing—almost like a chain, binding and strong.

"As I thought…" Dumbledore sighed, his expression turning grave. "You really have acquired a Commandment… When did it happen?"

"Was it at the end of last year? When Voldemort tried to invade your soul, but you drove him out instead… and gained the Commandment in the process?"

Wyzett snapped out of his reverie and glanced down at the silver badge.

It had changed, now bearing the cross-shaped serpent symbol. The only difference was that the snake's scales still bore the ritual magic patterns.

Wyzett quickly asked, "Headmaster Dumbledore, is this… the Commandment left behind by Voldemort?"

"Perhaps it's one of his sources of power," Dumbledore said, nodding slowly as he studied the badge—his expression much more relaxed than before.

"In fact… I expected it to be the shape of the Dark Mark. I didn't think it would look like this. But that's a relief—it's far more pleasant to look at!"

"Headmaster Dumbledore, about the Dark Mark…" Wyzett drew his wand and gave it a flick. "Is it like this? Morsmordre!"

A plume of smoke burst from his wand, swirling into the shape of a skull. The skull's jaw dropped open, and a thick serpent slithered out.

"Yes…" Dumbledore nodded, watching the Dark Mark fade in the air. "That's the Dark Mark. So… when you first acquired the Commandment, did it appear in that form?"

"Eek! You…" Dobby groaned, coming to just in time to glimpse the Dark Mark—and promptly fainted again, his head thumping against the floor.

"Yes," Wyzett said, waving his wand to disperse the smoke. "Later, when I collapsed in the Chamber, it might have been because the mark changed—becoming just the serpent."

He thought back on their conversation and pressed on, "Headmaster Dumbledore, you clearly know about the Commandment… and you said no reaction would be best. Why is that?"
