STRONGEST NECROMANCER SYSTEMC95: Katarina Ford - The Strongest Supporter

Chapter 95: Katarina Ford - The Strongest Supporter

[City of Greenville. The Headquarters of the BloodRaven Guild.]

Tobias Grant walked through the wide hallway of the BloodRaven guild with his head held high. There was a stoic expression on his face, but his eyes held an intense excitement that would have been enough to tell anyone just how happy he was! A woman dressed in a long black gown and a veil over her head led him forward with her hands held in front of her respectfully.

The headquarters of the BloodRaven guild was located in the heart of Greenville. As the single strongest guild in the entire country, the BloodRaven guild had been allowed to use Greenville as their base of operations, and this allowed them to take over the maintenance, running, and administration of all the businesses in the city! This was done as a way for the government to ensure that the BloodRaven guild remained within its control while also granting them enough power in the country so that the guild's leader felt appreciated for what she had done for the world.

There were ten major branches of the guild in America with various minor branches spread out across multiple cities, and each of those major branches held anywhere from ten to two hundred members each. But the main headquarters located in the heart of Greenville held the highest number of members with five hundred people staying in it at any one time.

The building had a niche Victorian-era design to it—something that had been requested by the leader herself. The building had no electricity, so there were candelabras lining the walls and lighting the way with dim candlelight. The windows were made from stained glass that cast a cascading array of colors across the air and ground when the sunlight shone on them, and the floor was made from a granite compound that prevented anyone from being able to walk across it silently.

The sun had already set, and Tobias appreciated the dim candles in the hallway that cast shadows across the ground as he moved. The building had been built in such a way that no electrical signals would be capable of getting in or out, so Tobias knew he didn't need to worry about anyone calling him to disturb his sacred moment. Because today was the one day in the month when he would have the great honor of standing before his Goddess.

Divine could not begin to describe her beauty. Sacred could not encompass how much value he put upon her very being. It was an honor just to stand before her; to talk to her was almost more than he could bear to withstand!

Tobias Grant and the woman leading him reached an ornate double door crafted from fine black metal. There were barbs twisted around the door like thorns, and in the center of it, there was a matte black cross. The woman moved to the side and gave Tobias some room for him to enter the room, and Tobias took in a deep breath and sighed as he felt his emotions threaten to overwhelm him. He took off his shoes, smoothened down his white hair, and for the first time since he arrived at the building, his face broke into a silly, boyish smile as he finally stepped forward and pushed the doors open.

The room he entered was a chapel. Multiple benches were arranged on either side of the room with enough space in the middle for people to walk through. The room was also dimly lit, and the only source of light was the candelabra burning on a large altar at the very end of the room. Above the altar was a statue of Christ on the cross with blood falling from where his hands and feet were nailed, and in front of the altar a single woman stood with her hands held in front of her dutifully.

To call her beautiful would be an insult to the sheer intensity of her appearance. She had caramel skin that glistened under the yellow light from the candles, high cheekbones that would normally be reserved only for those born from royalty, and light brown eyes that glowed with a golden glow in the dim light of the room. Her hair was a cascading waterfall of white snow that she covered with a black veil, and she wore a long black gown that came down to pool around her feet.

This was Katerina Ford, the leader of the BloodRaven guild and the strongest Supporter-type superhuman in the world! They say that with a single blessing from her, a simple A Rank superhuman could become so strong that they would be able to stand on their own against an S Rank! To put it into perspective, most supporters in the world weren't capable of boosting a superhuman's abilities beyond 30%, with some of the stronger ones being able to boost them by up to 50%.

But Katerina Ford as a single unit was capable of boosting a single superhuman's ability up to 300% of their regular power! And when you add in her innate talent to the fact that she possessed an absurdly huge pool of mana that she could constantly draw power from, it was no surprise that everyone in the world saw her as one of the Five Rulers and a woman who could decide the tide of battle all on her own if she wanted!

"I have brought the Vice-captain for your seven o'clock meeting, Madam Katerina."

The woman who had been leading Tobias to the meeting room bowed towards Katerina respectfully while introducing him, and Katerina smiled at the woman kindly. Katerina raised her hand towards the woman and spread her mana out in a small wave before activating her gift.

"Mmh~"

The woman groaned excitedly, and she could barely contain the intense shiver that passed through her body as she felt Katerina's power sink into her body and increase her strength! The woman felt power course through her for a few seconds, and when her shivers finally reduced in intensity, she released a sigh and bowed even deeper in thanks.

"Thank you for your kindness, my Goddess."

This was something that Katerina did whenever one of her retainers did anything for her. Katerina's abilities allowed her to boost the power of any superhuman by a significant amount, and as the leader of the BloodRaven guild, she was in charge of boosting the power of every single guild member to ensure they were capable of handling any gate that they dived into.

But those who stayed close to Katerina and helped her on a daily basis were the luckiest of all the guild members because they received a special boost from Katerina that they had begun to refer to as 'Mana Jolts'! A Mana Jolt happens when a Supporter gives a superhuman a sudden increase in abilities that would only last for a short time. It would be the same as having a dose of adrenaline injected into your veins without any warning! This boost gives them a sudden jolt of power that makes them feel like they are floating on the clouds while also filling their bodies with strength! It was an addictive feeling that would make anyone feel on top of the world with a single dose!

This was something that only the members of the BloodRaven guild knew about, and there was always serious competition between the guild members to become one of Katerina's retainers because she was the only one capable of giving them such intense 'Mana Jolts.'!

STRONGEST NECROMANCER SYSTEMC96: Darkness and Light

Chapter 96: Darkness and Light

There was always serious competition between the guild members to become one of Katarina's retainers because she was the only one capable of giving them such 'Mana Jolts.'

Katarina treated all her guild members with kindness and love, and she saw these 'Mana Jolts' as a way to reward them for the acts of servitude that they carried out. It was because of this kindness paired with the unending support from Katarina that all the members of the guild began to treat her like she was their goddess!

The woman bowed once more before she finally turned around to leave Katarina alone with Tobias.

Katarina's mellow golden eyes settled on Tobias, and Tobias felt an intense heat swelling from somewhere in his lower stomach once he laid eyes on the extraordinarily beautiful woman! Beauty like this should be a crime against chastity! It was impossible not to feel immediately attracted to Katarina once you laid eyes on her!

"Brother. It has been a while."

Katarina's lips curled up into a small smile when she set her eyes on her brother. Her voice came out in a smooth, gentle tone that felt like caramel massaging the eardrums, and Tobias fell to one knee and bowed his head to her. He was still overwhelmed by the sheer beauty of this woman, but he knew that he had come here for something important, so he had to focus.

"My Goddess, it is an honor to be in your presence once more. I hope you have been well."

Katarina felt her smile strain slightly when she heard the devotion present in her brother's voice. Katarina was a kind woman who treated everyone around her with as much care and love as possible. But in truth, she was a tired woman who hadn't left this mansion in years due to the intense emotions that had been plaguing her for so long. Emotions of guilt, hatred, and fear had been in her heart ever since the first time she received her powers, and it was only by surrounding herself with numerous loyal servants that she felt even the smallest amount of safety.

That was the entire reason why she created this guild. It was also the reason why she gave her support to every member of the guild and granted her most loyal servants 'Mana Jolts' whenever they did something good for her. It was all to ensure her own safety. But even though Katarina did not regret enslaving so many people through the use of her powers, she could never get used to the fact that her own brother had fallen under her spell as well.

Tobias Grant hadn't always been known as Tobias Grant. There was a time when he also held the Ford family name, but somewhere along the line in the past ten years, Tobias had decided that he didn't deserve to stand on the same level as Katarina.

Tobias disowned their parents and changed his last name to Grant in order to be removed from the family tree before he dedicated himself to Katarina like a loyal servant dedicating themselves to a goddess. It had gotten so bad that Katarina didn't know if Tobias even remembered that she was his sister anymore. He never spoke about her like a brother would speak to his sister, and from the things Katarina had heard from other guild members, she knew that Tobias' attraction to her was not an innocent one. Tobias actually held romantic feelings for her!

Katarina closed her eyes for a moment as she felt an intense surge of guilt rise from inside her, but she didn't allow it to consume her as she took in a deep breath and opened her eyes once more. Everything that she did was for her own safety. The rest of the world didn't know what was coming for them. No one knew anything, and Katarina refused to be unprepared for the moment when they finally learned the truth.

Humanity lavished in their ignorance and they celebrated any win that they had against the Gates like it was something that would make humanity grow stronger. But they didn't know that all of that was pointless! It was all vanity! It didn't matter how strong they grew! It didn't matter how many more superhumans they were! They were nothing but sheep! Cattle that were being reared for the slaughter!

'The Primordial is coming and there is nothing we can do about it. All we can do is lay down and accept our fate.'

If sacrificing her own brother would give her one more layer of protection against the fate she was destined to face when the truth is revealed, then that is what she would do! She had no right to feel guilty for anything that her actions caused with all the blood she would soon have on her hands!

Katarina forced the smile on her face to remain in place and she put her hand out to her brother and activated her abilities.

"Ngh!"

Tobias felt a surge of power flow through him as his sister's mana washed over him like a wave! A feeling of lightheadedness overtook his entire body and he could feel the heat in his stomach become even more intense! This was it! This is the power of his goddess! It was a divine blessing!

"T-Thank you, my goddess."

Tobias praised Katarina with a voice of complete servitude, and Katarina shook her head and told him that it was no problem. It was her job to bless those who had dedicated their lives to serving her.

"I hope things are going well with the guild. The recent surge in Gates has been taxing on the weaker fighters, but the other vice captains assured me that my blessing was sufficient to sustain their fighting spirit."

Katarina spoke up kindly and Tobias nodded along. Katarina was providing her blessing to every single member of the BloodRaven guild in different measures. Those that were going into Orange Gates were being blessed more than those that were going into Red Gates, but just a small amount of her blessing would give such a significant boost that it would easily tip the odds in their favor.

Tobias spoke up in adoration.

"Yes, your blessing has been sufficient. Every guild branch has grown significantly compared to the previous year and there is word from the government that there will be more Gates assigned to our branches due to the success rate of our guild."

Tobias felt happiness rising in him when he saw the way Katarina smiled at these words. This meant that she was happy, and only that thought was enough to make him happy as well! Tobias wasn't telling Katarina everything about the guild because he knew there were some things that he had to keep hidden in the dark. Like the fact that he had killed more than ten guild members in the past month who were trying to leave the guild and abandon Katarina.

The goddess was a pure creature and her soul was untainted by evil, so he would be the darkness to her light. The evil to her kindness. He was the one who would soak his hands in blood to make sure she didn't have to! That was his life's calling! A sense of accomplishment overcame Tobias at that moment, but his smile faded slightly as he remembered something and spoke.

"There was a small incident when one of our eastern branches was audited by the SMD for Magic Crystal laundering. We were able to cover the tracks and pin it on the branch head, but –"

"No... I don't want to know more than that. Just... please handle it yourself."

Katarina looked away from Tobias with downcast eyes once she heard him speaking about more serious issues between the guild and the SMD, and Tobias nodded in understanding. This was the one thing that shackled the ever-perfect Katarina Ford and prevented her from achieving the true potential that Tobias knew she could!

Katarina Ford was terrified of the outside world.

STRONGEST NECROMANCER SYSTEMC97: The Broken Man

Chapter 97: The Broken Man

After Katarina emerged from the Green Gate ten years ago and became one of the Five Rulers, she changed significantly from the person Tobias had once known.

Katarina first dedicated her life to creating the BloodRaven guild and she expanded its influence across the whole of America and made it into one of the most powerful guilds in the world before finally hiding away in this mansion and refusing to leave anymore.

The only interaction Katarina had with the outside world was through her Gift, which she used to support all the members of the guild, and through the vice-captains who sometimes came to give her reports of what was happening. She never left this building and had no means of communication with the outside world.

Tobias knew that Katarina's fear of the outside world had something to do with the Primordial she met inside the Green Gate. That experience changed Katarina for the worse and made her lose interest in anything that had to do with the world outside these walls! It was for this reason that Tobias decided not to tell Katarina about many of the things he did for the guild — like the assassinations he carried out to stop the King from emerging.

Tobias was one of the only people Katarina had told the truth about the Primordial that was coming for them. She told him that there was someone who would be hailed as the King — the strongest member of their race and that killing this person and preventing their rise to power was the only way they could ensure they weren't completely wiped out.

Immediately after the revelation, Tobias began to kill anyone and everyone who seemed like they could grow powerful enough to become the King. Katarina never asked how Tobias was handling things, and Tobias never told her the details of his actions and it was only after he was done with the assassination that he would tell her, so she could bless him with more of her support.

In a way, Katarina believed that by allowing her brother to do her dirty work for her, she was somehow keeping her hand free from blood.

Katarina stared up at the statue of Christ looming over her. She felt a knife of guilt stab into her heart as she felt the statue judge her actions, and she closed her eyes tightly and said a prayer for forgiveness. There was nothing she could do. Nothing at all! Before becoming a Superhuman, Katarina had been studying to become a nun in the church. She dedicated her life to daily prayer and servitude and it was her desire to help others that made her go into the Green Gate with the other Rulers, even though she knew it was dangerous. But she now knew that she had no right to become a nun anymore. Not after everything she had done. Katarina still prayed every day out of habit, and it was always for forgiveness.

"Thank you for coming to inform me about the guild's activities, Tobias. My heart melts with gratitude for your continued loyalty."

"To make you happy is my life's mission, my goddess."

Tobias bowed his head deeper to give his goddess the utmost respect, and Katarina came forward and took him by the shoulder. Tobias looked up at her in surprise as she pulled him to his feet, and he felt his entire body lock up when she suddenly hugged him tightly! Tobias hadn't touched his goddess in years, and this small contact was enough to make his brain go into overdrive!

Katarina released her Gift from her body, and Tobias grunted in bliss as he felt her mana course through his body like pure cocaine! Tobias's eyes widened as he felt stronger than ever in his life! His brain felt lighter than air, and a silly, stupid smile spread on his face as his faith in his goddess grew to new heights!

Katarina closed her eyes as a tear dropped down her cheek, and she buried her face in Tobias' shoulder and grieved for the brother that she had broken.

"Thank you for everything, brother. I am so sorry."

Katarina spoke from between her falling tears, and Tobias exclaimed happily.

"I'll do anything for you, my goddess. Anything at all!"

...

[Jason's Apartment.]

[With Jason and Gina.]

Jason carried the unconscious Dragonborn princess into his apartment, with Gina coming in behind him and shutting the door. Jason walked to his room and dropped the princess on his bed, and he heard Gina sigh from behind him while looking at the body with a curious glance. Now that Jason had taken off the face mask, Gina could finally see the scales on her cheeks and hands, and Gina couldn't deny anymore that this was real. This woman was definitely not human.

The princess was dressed in a strange long coat that was woven from thick black threads. She was also wearing a necklace, but there was nothing else on her. Gina couldn't help but feel some sympathy for the woman even though she didn't know her personally. The Dragonborn princess looked younger than her, so Gina almost felt like she could be her older sister.

"Are you sure she'll wake up soon?"

Gina spoke to Jason as she watched him move towards the window at the side of the room. Jason opened the window and looked outside into the night as his eyes bled red. Far away in the distance, the agent who had been spying on Jason all this time was sitting on a roof, eating a bar of chocolate while using a pair of binoculars to keep an eye on the house. Jason made sure to keep his eyes away from her so that she wouldn't know he was watching her, but he could still see her clearly through Fenrir's eyes.

Jason looked around and made sure that this stalker was the only one there before he finally answered Gina.

"She just suffered some shock. If she rests for a while, she should wake up in a day or two. She had some injuries when I found her, but they're all gone now."

Jason remembered that there were injuries on the woman's body when he found her in the forest earlier. The blue flames had been trying to heal her back then, but she didn't have enough mana to do anything significant. But now that she had rested for a while, all her injuries had already been healed, so Jason was sure that she would wake up soon.

Jason put his hand to the side and called on two of his subordinates. Two large Pawn Rank II wolves appeared at Jason's side, and Gina took a step back as she saw them while preparing her magic. Gina was still not used to the fact that Jason had so many monsters obeying him, and it was her natural reaction to immediately be on guard when facing monsters!

The wolves yipped and went over to Jason to nuzzle his face with their noses, and Jason grinned as he petted them. He saw Gina looking at them funny and told her to pet them if she wanted. They won't bite. Gina gave Jason a hesitant look at first, but she eventually took steps forward and petted one of the wolves on the side. The wolf turned to Gina and pushed its nose into her face, and Gina couldn't help but laugh as she felt it tickle her.

"They feel so real... and cold."

Gina spoke up in awe of the monster as she scratched it behind the ear. The wolf's skin felt just as real as any other monster, but she could tell that they weren't alive anymore from how cold they were to the touch. She couldn't feel any heart beating in them and there was a strange purple aura surrounding them like a cloak. Jason grinned before ordering the wolves to watch over the princess. The wolves both yipped in understanding, and Jason sighed and started walking out of the room with Gina following him a few seconds later.

STRONGEST NECROMANCER SYSTEMC98: Aren't You Coming?

Chapter 98: Aren't You Coming?

Jason made sure the wolves would look after the princess before he sighed and started walking out of the room with Gina following him a few seconds later.

"You look exhausted. Are you sure you're okay?"

Gina spoke up softly as she watched Jason fall on the couch and lean back tiredly. She stood in front of him with her hands on her hips and watched him with critical eyes. Jason opened one eye and he saw Gina leaning on one leg, and he couldn't stop his eyes from trailing to her wide hips and long legs. He stretched his hand out to her invitingly, and Gina's lips split into a smile as she moved forward and straddled him. She wrapped her hands around his neck before planting a soft kiss on his lips, his jaw, and then his neck.

Jason hummed deep in his throat, and his hand traveled to Gina's ass as he felt her plant another kiss on another part of his neck and then bite down hard enough to leave a hickey. She sucked on it gently before finally running her tongue over it sensually and leaning back slightly to appreciate her handwork. Jason felt his lower body heating up immediately, and he grunted as Gina pressed her breasts against his chest to hug him tightly.

"You're a walking temptation."

Jason's voice came out in a low growl, and Gina felt her cheeks heat up as he squeezed her large ass harder. She planted another kiss on his lips and hugged him tighter. Gina still didn't fully understand everything that Jason told her about the existence of multiple worlds and the fact that he wasn't fully human, but she could tell that the journey into the Orange Gate had been completely draining for him. She listened to his heartbeat for a few seconds as her eyes drifted closed, but she opened them again when Jason suddenly spoke up with a low hum.

"Oh yeah, I sold the Magic Crystals from the Red Gate today. Guess how much I made."

Gina leaned back and tilted her head to one side curiously.

"You know I hate guessing. How much did you make?"

"Half a million."

Gina blinked, and then her eyes narrowed in disbelief.

"Maybe I didn't hear you. Could you say that again?"

Jason laughed.

"I said half a million."

"Jason, that... that's more money than my entire guild makes in a month!"

Gina's guild, the Panthers, usually went on one or two Gate raids in a month. And even though they were a C-rank guild, they were not that efficient in dealing with the Magic Beasts, so they would always end up having casualties and making mistakes when retrieving the Magic Crystals from the Beasts. This prevented them from being able to make the full amount that they were supposed to make and brought their total monthly earning down.

When Gina first joined the guild, she was barely making more than two thousand dollars a month, but now that she was one of the strongest members of the guild, Gina made just under fifteen thousand dollars a month! And that number could rise or fall based on how many Gates they got to dive into that month! It was insane that Jason was able to make that much just from one Gate dive! She was so happy for him!

Gina laughed as she hugged Jason tightly.

"At least with that much money you can finally move out of this rundown place. The crazy old lady upstairs came down after you left this morning to complain about the noise. She said, 'You young people should have more empathy for your elders! You shouldn't be doing such things so late at night! I could hear your bed creaking for more than an hour!' I was so embarrassed!"

Gina's cheeks grew red in a heavy blush, and Jason laughed at her while holding her close. He looked to the side for a few seconds to try and gather his thoughts before he finally turned back to her and spoke.

"I was thinking of moving next week, so it's not a problem. And while we're on the topic, I thought about it for a while, and I was wondering if you wanted to... move in together."

Gina felt a shock pass through her as she stared down at Jason with wide eyes. The living room suddenly turned very quiet as both of them simply stared at each other, and Gina could see in Jason's eyes that he meant every word he just said.

"Really? Y-You're serious?"

"Of course I'm serious. I never play around when it comes to us."

Jason spoke with a seriousness beyond anything Gina had ever seen in her life, and she couldn't stop herself from leaning forward and taking his lips with her own. The kiss was soft and gentle, and Gina didn't bother to try and deepen it as she just wanted to fully enjoy the moment with Jason. When they separated, Gina held the sides of his neck gently, leaned her head against his, and nodded.

"Sniff~ Y-Yeah. I'd like that a lot."

Gina spoke with a husky tone, and Jason couldn't hold back a teasing chuckle when he realized that she was crying. Gina always cried over the silliest things.

"You're such a crybaby."

Gina hit him on the chest with another wet sniffle!

"Shut up, you!"

Jason used his thumb to help Gina clean the tears that were falling down her cheek, and he brought her down for another kiss before smiling at her. Jason had known Gina his whole life and they knew each other so well that Jason was certain that there wouldn't be any issues in them sharing a home together. He leaned back onto the couch and just enjoyed the moment as Gina leaned against him.

But all of a sudden, Gina perked up as she remembered something! Jason raised a brow at Gina when she suddenly got off him and started trying to drag him off the couch so they could get ready, and Jason asked her what was going on!

"Your mum! We're meant to meet her today. She's expecting us by eight and it's already seven. Come on."

Jason cursed internally! He completely forgot about that! Gina successfully pulled Jason to his feet and she quickly started to untie her blood-red hair from the bun she tied it in while moving towards the shower. She called out to Jason while trying to unbutton her shirt.

"Is the princess going to be okay if we leave her here alone?"

Gina asked about the unconscious princess sleeping in Jason's room, and Jason told her that his subordinates would take care of it. Even if Jason was far away, they would still obey his orders.

"Your Gift is completely broken. I kinda want to see you clearing out a Gate with all your summons. It must be so easy."

Jason laughed at that, and Gina gave him a sensual side glance before she finally succeeded in taking her shirt off and leaving her in only her jeans and her black bra. Gina swayed her hips while walking towards the bathroom. Her wide hips and thin waist were like a magnet drawing his eyes in without even trying, and Jason could feel intense arousal rising from deep inside his body at that moment! Gina turned and gave Jason an intense look, and Jason immediately knew that she had been doing this on purpose! This fucking seductress!

Gina bit her bottom lip softly before she put her hand on her hip and leaned forward slightly to expose more of her milky white cleavage while speaking invitingly.

"Well, don't just stand there and stare. Aren't you going to join me?"

At that moment, Jason immediately knew that this is what it must've felt like for the kings of ancient kingdoms whenever they went to war with other countries for the sake of a woman! If Gina looked at him like that and asked him for anything, Jason knew he would give it to her immediately! He had never seen anything more attractive in his whole life!

"I think it's about time we took our bath. If we kept going, then we'd be here all night."

Jason was still feeling the excitement from earlier, and he knew that he could keep going for a few more rounds if he wanted to. But at this rate, he wasn't going to be able to see his mum. And if there was one thing his mum hated, it was tardiness.

"And who's fault is it that we'll be late?"

Gina frowned at Jason, and Jason just gave her a grin.

"You're already forgetting about the fact that you seduced me? How could I keep my hands off you when you were looking at me like that without a shirt on?"

Gina blushed heavily at Jason's statement and she hugged him tightly while burying her face in his chest to hide her embarrassment. Jason's smile softened at his girlfriend's action. She was just too cute.

...

[An Hour Later. Mira's Apartment]

Ka-cha!

The door to Mira's apartment opened, and Mira gained a wide smile once she Jason and Mira standing there. But she suddenly took a step back in surprise when she felt an intense aura wash over her. Her eyes were wide in surprise as she stared at her son, and she felt her breath leave her! This power reminded her too much of another power she had felt a long time ago. It was the same type of power Mira had felt from her husband the first time they met!

Jason raised a brow in surprise when he saw his mother take a step back, and his eyes narrowed as he wondered what happened. Was she okay? Mira noticed his demeanor change, and she immediately shook her head and placed a wide smile on her face.

"Jason! Happy birthday, baby! You two are late!"

Mira called out as she opened the door wider for them, and Jason smiled sheepishly as he gave his mother a tight hug. Jason and Gina could have finished getting ready more than thirty minutes ago, but they ended up having sex again when Jason saw Gina putting on her panties. It was impossible for him not to get aroused when he saw her bend over like that.

Jason kissed his mum on the cheek and gave her a wide smile and a greeting.

"Sorry we're late. Gina took too long getting ready."

Jason didn't hesitate to throw Gina under the bus, and Gina cried out in shock! This bastard!

"You're the one that—!!"

Gina quickly stopped when she realized what she had almost said in front of Jason's mum, and her cheeks grew red as she pouted at Jason in anger! She was definitely going to get him back for this! Mira saw the look on Gina's face and she gained a mischievous smile! As a woman, she immediately knew what it was that had happened!

"Jason, stop bullying her, you naughty boy. Come, Gina, it's nice to see you."

Gina bent to give Mira a tight hug and blinked in surprise as she heard Mira whisper in her ear.

"Congratulations, my dear. I'm glad you two finally got together."

Gina blushed once more and just nodded shyly while looking at the floor after they separated! She couldn't even look Mira in the eyes due to how embarrassed she was! Mira laughed at that before she put her hand on Jason's cheek with a proud look in her eyes and finally ushered them inside.

The table in the middle of the room was filled with drinks, food, and a birthday cake with eighteen candles lit, and Jason's face brightened in joy as he took off his outer jacket and hung it to the side.

"You made all this for me?"

Mira hummed in the affirmative as she pulled her boy closer so he could sit. It wasn't every day that he turned eighteen, so she wanted his birthday to be special.

"Gina and I worked together and got you a gift. You'll get it after the cake, so you can look forward to it."

Mira spoke with a mysterious smile on her face, and Jason raised a brow before turning to give Gina a look. Gina had been keeping this from him? She never even mentioned a present once! Jason watched as Gina also took off her jacket and came to sit right beside him with a smile.

"Since when were you this good at hiding stuff? You couldn't even keep a secret for one day when you were in high school."

Chapter 102: A Difficult Conversation

"Since when were you this good at hiding stuff? You couldn't even keep a secret for one day when you were in high school."

"What are you talking about? I'm great at keeping secrets."

Jason's brow rose.

"You mean like that time you told the teacher where to find me when I skipped class?"

Gina's cheeks grew hot once Jason brought that up, and she immediately let out a small laugh. That day always made her feel very embarrassed because back then Gina didn't yet know that she was in love with Jason and she always treated him like a little brother. But when Gina heard from one of her classmates that another girl was trying to confess to Jason at the back of the classroom, Gina didn't even know when she went to report to the teacher so that she could ruin the plan.

That was the moment Gina knew that she liked Jason as more than a friend, but it was also really embarrassing because it made her look like a tattletale.

Mira suddenly zeroed in on what Jason had said and she grabbed his ear and pulled it softly while asking him what he meant by skipping class! This was the first time she heard about him skipping any classes!

Jason faked some pain and told his mum he was sorry and Mira narrowed her eyes at him before sighing and letting him go since it was his birthday. Mira then smiled before she brought the cake closer and began to light the candles. Jason folded his hands and leaned back with a smile as he watched, and Mira clapped her hands together once she was done!

"Alright, Jason. Make a wish!"

Jason laughed at that before he closed his eyes, made a wish, and blew out the candles easily. Once he was done, Mira and Gina both clapped as Mira began to pull the food forward for them to eat. The small family of three enjoyed the meal and cake for the next hour while gradually releasing the stress from their busy days. Gina spoke to Jason about the things that happened at the guild recently and Jason listened curiously as he heard her narrate the fight she had against the strongest member of the guild.

Mira pulled out a board game for them to play together and Gina went on to beat the shit out of both Jason and Mira in the game. If there was one thing that Gina was more than confident in, it was her ability to always win any type of game!

As the festivities continued, Jason also kept an eye on both the princess who was in his house as well as the agent that had been following him all this time. The princess was still sleeping fine and the two large wolves guarding her were lying at the foot of the bed without moving, but the agent had followed Jason and Gina to Mira's house and she was sitting on a building almost half a kilometer away and eating some ration bars while waiting for him to make another move. It was obvious that the agent cared more about what Jason was doing than what was happening with the princess.

Jason was glad that the agent didn't try to enter his house. If she did, then Jason would have been forced to finally make a move against her and whoever was backing her. Jason was keen on hiding his abilities from the government, but that didn't mean he wouldn't use them if the government went too far with their surveillance.

As the night passed quickly, the food on the table slowly disappeared as the two superhumans absolutely tore through it and before long it was all gone. Gina took the plates away to put them in the kitchen when she noticed that Mira wanted some time alone with Jason and then Mira came to sit beside Jason. Jason smiled at his mother wrapped his hand around her shoulder to pull her close and Mira's face broke into a smile as her son's strong arms held her tight.

"Everything okay, mum? You look like something's on your mind."

Jason spoke with a raised brow when he saw the strained way his mother smiled and it didn't take long before Jason realized that they were about to have another talk. Jason released a breath before folding his hands and leaning back on the couch.

Mira knew that this was going to be a difficult conversation, but she wasn't going to drag it out for too long since it would only make things worse. She took a breath and finally spoke.

"I got a call from Janet yesterday after you and Gina left. She... she told me that there was a problem between her and her partner."

Mira's voice cracked when she said the word partner. She still hated the fact that Gina chose that hoodlum as a partner and there was nothing that would make her accept him. Jason's face hardened when he heard about Janet, but once he heard that there was a problem between her and her boyfriend, he immediately sat up and asked what happened.

"Did he hit her?"

Jason's brows furrowed in anger when he asked this and Mira quickly shook her head and spoke up.

"No, I don't think so! At least, she didn't say anything about that. But they've been having issues and she needed time away from everything for a while. So... she asked if she could come back home."

Jason frowned in irritation. What the hell did his mum just say? Janet wanted to come back? How in the world were they even talking about this right now!?

"Mum, I love you and that is the only reason why I'm not going to say exactly what is on my mind right now. But you can't sit there and tell me that you forgot what Janet did to this family. Why the hell should we help her out after she abandoned us when we needed her the most?"

"Because she is still family, Jason."

Mira put her hand on her son's shoulder and leaned over with a sad look on her face. Their family had been through a lot the past few years and Mira knew that Jason was the one that had taken the greatest load on his shoulder after both her husband and daughter left. Right now, Jason's anger was completely justified.

But even though he was angry, that didn't mean she agreed with his desire to abandon his sister. No matter what Janet does either now or in the future, Jason could never forget that she is still his sister. She is still family. And family always looks out for one another.

Jason grit his teeth and turned away.

"Maybe she should have remembered that before she left her family to be with some fucking bum."

Mira hit Jason on the arm.

"Language, Jason. I know you're angry and I understand, but I am still your mother and you will listen to me. We have to help Janet now that she needs us, even after everything she did. I won't sit on the sideline and watch as my daughter suffers on the street even though she has a family that loves her. That is not the kind of family I want us to be. Do you understand?"

Mira watched Jason closely after she finished and she hoped that her words would reach him. Mira knew that Jason's input was very important in the family. She might be their mother, but Jason had been running the family for a long time now and it wouldn't be false to say that he was the head of this family. If Jason really hated the idea of Janet coming back, then it would be difficult to welcome her.
