Chapter 103: The Gift
Jason leaned back and closed his eyes with a sigh. He really hated this entire situation. He couldn't deny that he still cared about his sister, but he was also very irritated by the fact that she had abandoned them. Back then, Janet and Jason were the two who took charge of the family, and they made sure they were always there to take care of their mother. Even though they were both hurt by their father leaving them, they found strength in each other and made sure the other person never broke down. In a way, it felt like Janet was the only one that Jason could really depend on.
So when Janet walked out on them, Jason was the one who felt it the hardest. The amount of hatred he felt for Janet back then would have been enough to make him cast her out of his life forever. But that was then, and this is now. Jason had grown since then, and even though he still hated what she'd done, he wasn't going to deny his mother's request just because of how he felt.
Jason sighed and stretched his hand over his mother's shoulder to pull her closer with a small smile.
"Alright, she can come back."
Mira's face brightened, and she immediately hugged her son happily. She was so proud of him! Even though Mira had been putting on a brave face all this time, Jason could tell that she was hurt by the fact that their family was slowly breaking apart. Now that Janet was trying to come back home, Jason wasn't going to deny her the chance to see the family together again.
Behind them, Gina cleaned her hands with a towel while watching with a smile. She also knew just how difficult things were in the family and was happy to see that they were slowly starting to get back to how they used to be.
Gina suddenly got a phone call and quickly picked up when she recognized the caller. She listened for a while before a smile spread on her face, and she thanked the person before hanging up! Gina immediately skipped into the living room and hugged Jason from behind while turning to Mira.
"Hey, Mira. It's here!"
Mira also smiled, stood up, and dusted her hands on her trousers before going to grab her jacket. Jason raised a brow and asked Gina what she was talking about. Gina shook her head and told him it was a surprise. She kissed him on the cheek and grinned.
"You'll love it. I promise."
Jason laughed in amusement before he shrugged and grabbed his jacket as well. He helped Gina put on her own jacket before they all walked out of the house together. As they went down the stairs, Gina told Jason to close his eyes, and Jason wondered what the hell they could have possibly gotten him. He knew this was the gift for his birthday, but the fact that they were being so secretive about it only made him more curious.
Finally, they got outside and walked towards the parking lot at the side. Gina gently guided Jason forward so he didn't fall since his eyes were closed, and when they reached their destination, she told him to open his eyes. Jason opened one eye first and immediately frowned in surprise as he saw a large tarp covering something in front of him. Gina walked over to the side, grabbed the tarp, and then pulled it back.
Jason's eyes widened in shock, and he immediately felt the craziest smile appearing on his face!
It was a superbike!
Or more specifically, it was the Suzuki GSX-R1000!
The bike was silver with black stripes going down the side, and there was a black helmet resting on the back seat! Jason had wanted this bike for as long as he could remember! Jason's current bike was just a budget one that didn't even have that much horsepower, and he had been thinking of replacing it for a long time. But his expenses with work, family, and school prevented him from doing it so he decided not to waste money on a new bike! How in the world did they get this!?
Jason turned to his mother and saw her smiling at him happily. He was about to ask her how much this put them back, but she just raised her hand and shook her head.
"It doesn't matter, Jason. I know you've wanted this for ages and you deserve it. Happy birthday, baby."
Jason immediately grabbed his mother into a bear hug and raised her in the air. She cried out in surprise as she was lifted more than three feet high! She laughed and begged Jason to put her down, and Jason quickly did. He gave her another hug while thanking her, and she petted him on the arm and told him he was welcome. She then leaned forward and whispered in his ear.
"Gina's the one you should really be thanking. I helped a little, but she saved for months to make sure she could get you this particular model."
Jason turned to Gina, and she smiled at him while looking away in embarrassment. Jason wasted no time as he went up and took her into a hug. He knew it must've cost a lot for Gina to buy the bike, so he could only imagine how much she must've saved up. Jason leaned down and whispered a 'thank you' to her, and Gina wrapped her hand around his back with a smile.
"You're welcome, baby."
Mira was watching from behind them and felt herself getting emotional from seeing them together! She wiped her eyes with the back of her finger and sniffled before she spoke up.
"Well, come on. No need to be shy. You two should go try it out!"
Mira started to push both of them to go and ride together, and Gina blushed as Jason practically carried her towards the bike. She took the helmet and handed it to Mira to hold onto it. Neither of them would be in any danger even if they crashed the bike, so there was no need for it. Jason turned the bike on and revved it!
Vrooom!
A loud roar echoed through the parking lot, and Mira laughed at the boyish smile she saw on her son's face. He was always so serious, but at moments like this, she remembered that he was still just a teenager! He looked like a child playing with a new toy!
Jason was enjoying the feeling of the bike rumbling under him, and he suddenly used his mental link with Fenir and told him to keep an eye on the agent and make sure no one came near his mother. The large wolf was hiding in the shadows of a building two kilometers away and it yipped in agreement.
Gina leaned forward and hugged Jason around the waist, and Jason revved the bike one more time before putting it in gear and taking off!
...
[The World of Kari]
[Five Dimensional Leaps Away from Earth]
The stench of blood and death filled the air in a dark and dreary town located at the bottom of a large valley. Up in the sky, two large moons shone with a gentle red light and cast the entire town in its hue, and all around the town, the bodies of the dead could be seen.

Chapter 104: Alpha, the Assassin
The people of Kari were known as the Karians, and they were peace-loving humanoid creatures with slit eyes, red skin, and long tails. The Karians were the most dominant race in the world of Kari, and just like the humans on Earth, they had settled in various locations around the world to create towns and cities.
This town, with the dead littering its floor, had been created by a small tribe of Karians who decided to take up farming as their main source of income. They harvested and sold crops to the towns located around them in order to make ends meet. But unfortunately for them, there was one Karian who decided that they were a hindrance to him, and he decided that he wanted them gone.
That Karian was one of the Barons in this region, and before killing all the Karians in this town, he had spoken to them and told them to give up their land to him since he wanted to use it to build a road. The Karian Baron was obviously lying and those who were well-informed knew that he just wanted to get his hand on the fertile land that the farmers had taken as their own, and he was trying to use the excuse of building a road to get it from them.
But the farmers refused to relinquish the land no matter how much the Baron tried to get them to leave. The Karian farmers fought back relentlessly and turned down any payment the Baron tried to make, and eventually, the Baron realized that there was nothing he could do about them. The Baron couldn't attack them himself since that would go against the law. If a Baron attacks a small village, then the Baron would face backlash from the judiciary.
So rather than staining his hands with blood, he reached out across the Primordial Expanse and called on a group that was famous for its secrecy: The Phantoms.
The Phantoms were a group of assassins who were unspoken celebrities among those who used their services. They were made up of fifty members who were all in B rank and above, and each member possessed the unique ability to travel through any form of shadow. This singular ability allowed the Phantoms to carry out retrieval and assassination missions that would normally be impossible for anyone else!
They could sneak into a town and kill every single person there in one night before vanishing into the shadows like they were never even there! By the time morning came around, the only thing anyone would find was the stench of blood and dead bodies. And tonight, in this small village of Karian farmers, the Phantom troupe struck once more.
A single woman stood on the roof of a house and looked down at the multitude of bodies with emotionless yellow slit eyes. The light of the moon shone from behind her, casting a long black shadow along the roof and ground. The woman wore a black skin-tight outfit that covered her from head to toe and showed off her slender figure. She had a mask covering the lower part of her face, and her long black hair flowed in the wind along with the smell of blood. Two short horns curved up from her forehead, giving her a demonic and dangerous look. There was a Sai attached to either side of her hip, which was the primary weapon for the Phantoms, and behind her, she carried a short sword.
This woman was Alpha, the leader of the Phantoms.
Alpha hailed from a world of lesser demons known as the Raksha, which existed more than five hundred Dimensional Leaps away. The people of her world were once conquerors who attempted to take control of every single world that existed close to them. But after they made enemies of the people of Avaran, their world was destroyed and their army was completely wiped out. Alpha was one of those on the frontline who saw the sheer destruction that their enemies were capable of, and she decided at that moment that there was nothing they could do to fight against the Avarians.
Alpha managed to secure a way out of that world by selling information to the enemies. She gave them all the escape routes and safe bunkers where her previous allies were hiding in exchange for a lot of Magic Crystals, and then she took as many treasures and artifacts as she could carry with her and escaped through a Dimensional Tear. After she was certain that there was no one coming after her, she used the artifacts and Magic crystals to create this group of assassins.
Alpha watched as the other members of the Phantoms carried out the routine ransacking of the various houses and bodies in order to retrieve anything valuable. Alpha was irritated when she discovered that this town of Karian farmers were non-magic users. This meant that there were no Magic Crystals for her to retrieve after killing them, so the only way she could make a profit off their dead bodies was by taking anything valuable.
Alpha didn't actually need to keep watch over her men since she was sure that none of them would dare to steal from her, but she knew she had to be thorough.
Her eyes trailed down to look at a little Karian girl who had been impaled by a sword. The Karian girl's eyes were still open, and there was green blood leaking out from her lips as she lay dead but Alpha felt nothing in her heart. Alpha had lived through years of bloodshed as a member of the Raksha race. She had killed tens of thousands of innocents as a former soldier and she had watched hundreds of thousands of her own people die, so she couldn't care less about the innocent blood she shed here!
Alpha was the one who trained all the other members of the Phantoms, and although they were all from different races and worlds, they all possessed the same ability to travel through the shadows. The source of this unique ability was still a mystery to everyone except the members of the Phantoms, and no one would ever find out how they gained their ability if Alpha had anything to say about it.
In the time since Alpha began this group, she had taken the Phantoms from an unknown gang of aimless thieves and made them into a ruthless group of killers who would sell their loyalty to the highest bidder. It didn't matter if they were told to kill a politician or a child. It didn't matter if they were meant to erase an entire town from existence or if they were meant to burn down a school. The Phantoms did everything that was asked of them so long as the asker was willing to pay the right amount, and tonight was no different.
The ground beside Alpha bulged slightly before a figure slowly emerged from the shadows to stand behind her. Alpha didn't bother turning to regard the man as she kept her eyes on the other members below her. The man was also dressed in the same manner that she was. The black suit covered his body from neck to toe, and there was a black mask covering his lower face. At his hips were two sais drenched in blood. His green eyes scanned the surroundings for a second before he finally turned to his leader and spoke in a short clipped tone.
"We've checked the houses. No signs of life."
Alpha said nothing in response, but the man knew that she heard him and accepted his report. They stood in silence for a few calm seconds before Alpha spoke.
"There is a new mission."
It wasn't a question, but the man recognized that Alpha was asking him to tell her about the new mission that they had. Now that they were done clearing out the Karian farmers, it was already time for them to begin their next mission. The man spoke up in a monotonous voice.
"The mission came from the Dragonborn on Radagan. It's a search mission."
Alpha's brow creased into a slight

Chapter 105: Waking Up
"The mission came from the Dragonborn of Radagan. It's a search mission."
Alpha's brow creased in a slight frown. Radagan? She tried to remember what world Radagan was again, and it was only after a few seconds that she remembered them. Radagan was a world populated by Dragon and Wyvern riders about five Dimensional Leaps away from Kari. From her information in that part of the Primordial Expanse, she knew that they were currently going through a coup d'état that led to the death of the incoming king and queen. The Dragonborn all possessed high affinities to fire-based magic, and there was a time when Alpha thought about recruiting some of them into her Phantoms. But she decided against it. The world of Radagan was filled with powerful warriors, but they were prideful and quick to anger, so they weren't suitable for her line of work. Alpha only accepted people she could control.
Alpha's voice came out in a smooth tone.
"Is the mission to search and eliminate?"
"No. It is a search and retrieval mission. The target is Riyala, the former princess of the Dragonborn who is now an exile. The client also asked us to eliminate anyone standing in our way. Discretion is not necessary."
Alpha's only reaction was a calm blink as she watched one of her men tear a gold ring away from a woman's finger. She narrowed her eyes when the man tried to put the ring on, and the man immediately looked up at her in fear as he felt her mana reaching for him. He quickly put the ring into a bag that held other valuables, and Alpha turned away from him and glanced back.
"Does the client know where the princess ran off to?"
The man behind her shook his head. He could already tell that this mission would take a long time, so he made sure that the client explained things as thoroughly as possible. But even the client was in the dark about Riyala's whereabouts.
"There was an incident between the Imperial Guards on Radagan and Riyala. They chased her down on dragonback when she escaped from the palace, but when none of them came back with news, a second group was sent out to investigate. They found the dead bodies of two of the Imperial guards along with a dragon and wyvern. The third Imperial Guard and his dragon had disappeared along with Riyala."
"They believe she escaped into a Dimensional Tear?"
"Yes, that is the most likely situation."
Alpha hummed as she closed her eyes and thought things through for a few seconds. This could be difficult for them to handle since there was very limited information on what happened. If Riyala simply jumped into any random dimensional tear, then it was possible that she could have ended up in any dimension at all. And if she continued jumping through dimensions after the first jump, then they could be dealing with a very long search through tens of dimensions.
But things like that weren't enough to stop Alpha. Alpha had dealt with much worse as a soldier of Raksha, so she had learned the importance of patience. The Dragonborn princess was being chased down when she jumped through dimensions, so it was unlikely that she had enough energy to make another dimensional jump after the first one. And if one of the Imperial Guards made it through the Dimensional Tear and chased her down, then they were dealing with one of two possibilities.
Either the princess fought against the Imperial Guard and somehow managed to kill him. If this was the case, then Alpha was sure the princess wouldn't have any means of getting through to another dimension since she would be too tired to move at all. But the second possibility was that both the princess and the Imperial Guard had been attacked by a monster from within the Gate and they were both dead.
It was unlikely that the Imperial Guard managed to kill the princess. If he did, then he would have gone back to Radagan to report it already,
'Regardless of what happened, it would be easy to find her if we split up and searched all the worlds that are connected to Radagan from that location. Yes, it should be possible.'
Alpha nodded internally before she finally spoke up.
"Split the men into five groups of ten with an A Rank leading each group and tell them to prepare the Magic Hounds. The rest of the men are going to be with me. We'll make our way to Radagan tonight and begin the search. Finally, let the client know that the price will be double the usual. Half upfront and half after the job is complete."
The man didn't bother to comment about the steep increase in the cost. He knew that the client would complain about being extorted, but there was no way they wouldn't pay. Alpha had realized from what she heard that this princess was very important to the Dragonborn for some reason. The Dragonborn wouldn't be going out of their way to employ the Phantoms unless they needed her back at all costs. And if she was really that important, then they would be willing to pay at least twice what they were used to paying for their services.
The man vanished into the shadows once again and Alpha turned to watch as her men finished their plundering. The men began to slip into the shadows one after the other before phasing across the ground to regroup at their hideout. She remained there with the same calm look on her face and watched until the last of the men had phased away before she also sank into the shadows beneath her and vanished into the night. All that was left in their absence was the stench of blood and dead bodies.
...
Jason's eyes snapped open and he sighed as he felt the rays of the morning sun hitting his face. Jason ran a hand across his face as he tried to get his bearings back. He was still not used to being perfectly awake the moment he opened his eyes in the morning. There was a weight on his chest and he looked down to see Gina snuggling against him. Her mouth was slightly open as she slept, and her face was set in a look of contentedness. She wasn't wearing anything under the covers and Jason could already feel himself reacting to her naked breast pressing against his chest.
'I need to get up.'
Jason sighed before he slowly untangled himself from Gina's hold. They had been sleeping on a large duvet that Jason brought out to the living room since his bed was currently occupied by an unconscious princess. Gina frowned once Jason left her alone, but when Jason drew the covers higher to cover her properly and then kissed her forehead, her frown slowly dissolved into a smile.
Jason always woke up before Gina, and since they came back really late from the party at his mother's house last night, Jason was sure that Gina would be out for a few more hours at least. Today was Friday and Jason turned to look at the clock with narrowed eyes and saw that it was already seven in the morning.
'I'm late for school.'
This thought passed through Jason's mind and he ran a hand through his dark hair while going to the bathroom. Jason brushed his teeth at the sink and leaned back against the bathroom wall while checking on the subordinates who had been watching the sleeping princess as well as the government agent outside his house. Three magic crystals appeared in Jason's hand and he threw them in his mouth and chewed on them while speaking with his subordinates about what happened last night.

Chapter 106: Back To School
There hadn't been any changes in the princess since Jason went to bed, and Jason just frowned at that before he reached out to Fenrir. Fenrir told Jason that the agent was still watching the house. The agent left sometime during the night and came back with food and drinks, so Jason was certain that she was going to be watching him for a while.
'It's starting to get irritating.'
Jason frowned slightly as he considered his options. Jason couldn't do anything about the agent watching him, but he didn't like the fact that she was keeping tabs on him like this. Should he just confront her about this and ask her what she wants? No, that wouldn't work. If he confronts her, then he'd only deal with the problem in the short term. Jason wanted to know who was behind the agent, and to do that he needed to be patient. Jason sighed and pushed off the wall. He couldn't be impatient. He'd wait and allow the agent to make the first move.
During the celebrations last night, Jason spoke with his mother about whether or not he should drop out of school. Jason told his mother that he didn't need to go to school anymore since he could make money by working as a superhuman now. But his mother was adamant that she wanted him to finish high school.
Jason could still remember the look on his mother's face as she spoke to him in a hard tone.
"We had a deal, Jason. You told me you didn't want to go to college, and I agreed because I know you're mature enough to make your own choices. But you promised me that you would finish high school at least. I am not budging on my decision."
Mira was in the middle of dishing out Jason's cake when the topic of high school came up. And Mira could immediately tell that Jason was thinking of dropping out. She knew that Jason could make money by being a superhuman, but that was not the reason why she wanted him to go to school. Mira wanted Jason to have an education, even if he wasn't going to college. Why would he want to throw everything he had worked for away just because he made some money?
Jason sighed as he saw how angry his mother looked. It was obvious that this was a big deal to her even if he wasn't really interested in it. If it had been anyone else who spoke to him about going back to school, then Jason wouldn't have just ignored her. But this was his mother, and he had to take her opinion into consideration no matter what.
"Mum, I'm already making money –"
"It's not about the money! It's about education. Knowledge! I care about you, Jason! I want what's best for you! Stop thinking that the only thing I want from you is the money you can make for us. I want you to go to school and get a good education before settling down and thinking about the rest of your life. You're still so young, Jason. Stop trying to jump into adulthood so quickly."
That had been enough to give Jason pause. His mother sounded so serious at that moment that Jason couldn't even say a single word to her! This was the first time that his mother would seriously admonish him for trying to make money. Even when he told her that he wasn't going to college, she didn't say much to try and stop him! Was it really that important for him to finish high school?
Maybe to Jason, it wasn't important, but to his mother, it was very important! She knew that Jason was far too mature for his age, and she also knew that he was trying his best to grow up quickly so that he could just take care of everything by himself, but that wasn't the life she wanted for him! If Jason left school now, then he would be thrust into a world of adults who all wanted to take advantage of him! He would have to learn how to be cunning, ruthless, and morally grey just to survive against all of them!
Mira didn't want Jason to throw himself into that world so quickly! Jason was still a teenager! An eighteen-year-old! And no amount of maturity would ever change that fact in Mira's mind! Mira was going to put her foot down and make sure that Jason listened to her about what she wanted him to do for now! After high school, Jason could do whatever he wanted, but for now, he was going to school whether he liked it or not!
And that was how the conversation had ended. Jason didn't like seeing his mother look so tense. The entire reason why he wanted to drop out of school in the first place was to try and make his mother's life easier, but it was obvious that the only way to make his mother's life easier now was by going to school and finishing it off! If that was what would make his mother happy, then he didn't mind doing it!
Jason knew that he didn't have to go into Gates every single day. On the days when Jason had a Gate to dive into, then he would just skip school and do what he had to do, but on other days, he would go to school with the other kids. Jason was in his final year of high school and it was only three months until graduation. Even if he went to school nonchalantly and missed some of his classes, Jason would still be able to graduate with the others. So Jason decided to give his mother what she wanted and finish school at least.
Besides, going to school wasn't going to be a complete waste of time. Jason had been thinking about what he would do with the Magic Crystals that he collected from the Orange Gate. He had more than three hundred of them, even after subtracting the ones he ate. And he wasn't exactly planning on eating them all. Jason wanted to sell as many of them as possible, but to do that he needed an organization that was separate from the government. Someone who wouldn't expose his identity.
The first person that came to Jason's mind was one of the superhumans in his class called Fiona. She was only an E Rank, so she didn't have much hope of ever going into a Gate until she got stronger, but she was extremely rich because her family was in the Magic Crystal business. They were a third-party company called Tenet that bought Magic Crystals from superhumans and sold them to those who needed the crystals. There have been many articles talking about how the business was suffering due to the SMD monopolizing the crystal market, but even if they were suffering, Jason didn't care. The only thing he cared about was the fact that they were an independent entity. If he could get them to buy his crystals without letting the government know, then he wouldn't mind giving it to them.
Jason also spoke to his mother about the money he made from selling the crystals he got from the Red Gate. His mother was obviously excited about him making so much money and she immediately refused when Jason told her he would send her some money later. Mira insisted that she didn't have any need for the money since Jason was the one paying for most of the things they needed, but Jason wouldn't budge. He was giving her the money whether she liked it or not.
Jason also told his mother that he wanted her to stop running her shop and retire, but his mother told him that she couldn't.

STRONGEST NECROMANCER SYSTEMC107: Battling Boredom
Chapter 107: Battling Boredom
Jason's father was the one who started their shop all those years ago, and they had been running it together for almost ten years before he vanished. Mira wasn't keeping the shop open just because she wanted to make money from it. She was keeping it open because it reminded her of Richard and what they had together. And in a small way, Mira was making sure Richard could return to the shop once he came back. It was her own way of hoping she would still get her husband back even after so long.
Jason respected that decision and he decided that he would buy the building that the shop was located in. That way his mother wouldn't have to worry about paying rent or bills anymore. It was the least he could do after everything she did for him.
'Ragnar, let go of Raya right now!'
Jason suddenly shouted internally as he watched the large dragon in his Alternate Dimension crushing the Adamantine Ant Queen under its weight! The dragon was lying on the ant's body and the ant was screeching in anger as it tried to bite the dragon's tail!
Ragnar released a loud roar as it pressed its weight on Raya one last time before finally moving off her and taking off into the sky! Raya screeched in anger once she was free and she was about to take off after Ragnar, but Jason told her to stop. They were going to cause problems for the other subordinates if they fought! Raya spoke to Jason in a loud voice! This dragon was always looking for her trouble! Whenever Jason wasn't looking, it would come and try to fight Raya for no reason!
Jason sighed tiredly and told Raya to calm down before he turned his focus to Ragnar and told it to behave itself! The dragon roared loudly in apology as it landed on a large mountain a far distance away from Raya! It released a puff of smoke from its mouth as it lay down calmly and it asked Jason when next they would be able to have a fight! It was boring in the Alternate Dimension and it wanted to fight again!
Jason promised Ragnar that he would fight against it soon, but if it continued looking for Raya's trouble, then there would be no fights for it! Ragnar immediately roared in acceptance as it turned around to lay belly up happily, but a loud screech echoed through the region and Jason watched as Raya bodyslammed Ragnar in the belly with a [Linear Charge] and made him fall off the mountain with a cry of pain!
Jason chuckled as Raya laughed at Ragnar's fall, but Raya immediately turned around in fear and began to run away as she heard Ragnar release a loud roar of excitement! Ragnar took off into the sky to chase after Raya and Jason just turned away as both of them chased each other through the sky! Those two were his strongest subordinates and Jason was glad that they got along so well, but he knew that they were getting bored not being able to do anything inside his Alternate Dimensions. And the truth was that he was also getting bored.
Even though Jason had just finished clearing the Orange Gate yesterday, he was already eager to go into another one! There was just something about fighting in a gate that brought an undeniable excitement out of him!
Jason turned to the system and asked it if there was any chance of him getting another Gate Key soon. Jason knew that he only got the previous key because he completed his first Gate, so he wondered how he could get another key.
The system answered quickly.
[The system has not detected any available dormant Gates in the user's vicinity. The closest available dormant Gate is 5000 km [3000 miles] away from the user in a town called Greenville. The system will alert the user with a new mission once a suitable dormant Gate is available.]
Jason frowned at this message. It would be difficult to go all the way to Greenville for a single gate. Greenville wasn't like New York which was close by. Before he gets there, he'd have to travel for at least two days. And by the time he gets there, the dormant gate would have already opened into a real Gate.
"How long will it take before another dormant Gate is available around Riverdale?"
[Calculating...]
[Calculating...]
[Calculating...]
[Calculating...]
[Due to the density of mana in the user's vicinity, the system has estimated it will take approximately [4] days for a suitable dimensional tear to evolve into a dormant Gate.]
Jason sighed at this information. That meant he wasn't going to be able to dive into a Gate until next week. It wasn't so bad since he had school and the upcoming assessment to prepare for, but at this rate, he was sure his subordinates would get more restless.
"I'll just focus on school and the assessment for now. At least I'll be able to talk to Fiona about the crystals in school."
Jason threw three more crystals into his mouth and chewed on them as he went into the shower to clean up quickly.

It didn't take long for Jason to get out of the shower, and he walked out of the bathroom with a towel around his waist while using another one to clean his hair. As he walked, he spoke to the system.
"Is there anything in your database about Avaran and my father?"
Jason had been curious about his homeworld ever since he found out that he wasn't fully human, and since the system said it was the largest archive of information in the known Primordial Expanse, then it only made sense that it would know about his home world.
The system responded easily.
[Avaran was a Rank IV world that served as the homeworld to the Avarian race. They were known as a peaceful race, but they possessed an innate fighting talent that surpassed that of most Rank V worlds, leading them to be targets for many of the battle-hungry races in the worlds parallel to their own. The Avarians fought off these invaders and grew stronger from the consumption of their Magic crystals and their constant growth drew the attention of two Rank V worlds that were terrified of their rapid growth. These Rank V worlds attacked the Avarians and they almost succeeded in the eradication of the race. Your father, Richard Marc, was once known as Grigori Takis and he was the strongest member of the Avaran race and their ruler. In the final moments of the battle, after most of his race had been eradicated, his most trusted supporters sacrificed themselves to allow his escape through a Dimensional Tear and preserve their race.]
Jason read through all this quickly and he scratched his chin curiously. So that was how his race ended up dying out. But what the hell did the system mean by Rank IV and Rank V worlds? Jason had no idea there were ranks between worlds.
The system brought up another tab to respond.
[The world Ranking is a method of grading the strength of the world based on an average of the inhabitants of that world. The weakest worlds that do not possess any Mana-wielding creatures and have no knowledge of the Primordial Expanse are known as Rank I worlds. And worlds that possess multiple Primordial Level beings are known as Rank V worlds.]

STRONGEST NECROMANCER SYSTEMC108: Morning Coffee
Chapter 108: Morning Coffee
'Are there any Ranks higher than five?'
[The system does not have any data pertaining to that information. But from information gathered across the Primordial Expanse, the system believes there might be worlds existing outside of the Primordial Expanse that are higher than Rank V.]
'Alright, let's not bother about that for now. It's already bad enough that I have to deal with so many worlds inside the Primordial Expanse. If the Rank I's are the weakest, then what Rank is Earth in?'
[The world known as Earth is graded as a Rank II world due to their knowledge of the Primordial Expanse and the existence of multiple mana-wielding individuals within the world. Their strongest inhabitant is currently an SSS Rank individual.]
'Damn, we're weak as fuck.'
Jason frowned worriedly when he saw what the system wrote out. If they were only a Rank II world, then they weren't even close to strong enough to handle the most powerful worlds out there. Avaran had been a Rank IV world and they weren't able to stand up to the Rank V world that attacked them. That means it would be very easy for the Primordial to completely destroy Earth if they were attacked now.
Jason needed to get stronger faster. And he also needed to make the people around him stronger as well. He and his army might be powerful, but he needed more allies.
Another thought suddenly came to Jason and he frowned before he asked a question.
'How strong is the world of Radagan?'
The system sent back a response.
[The world of the Dragonborn, Radagan, is a Rank III world due to the presence of multiple fully matured Elite Rank Ashenvalley Dragons and Wyverns.]
'They're stronger than us. I just hope the system is right about them not having any way to track the princess back to this world. It'll be difficult to fight back if they attack us with a mature dragon.'
Jason remembered that the system told him the adult dragons were very prideful so they refused to allow anyone to tame or ride them. That meant that the Dragonborn would likely not attack them with the dragons even if they were to come to Earth. At least, that was what Jason hoped!
'Is there an adult Dragon in your army?'
Jason directed this last question toward the Dragonborn soldier who was inside his Alternate Dimension, and the Dragonborn responded that they didn't have one. The Dragonborn was sitting beside some of the large wolves that were taking a nap and he shook his head while passing his message to Jason.
[The Radagan army only has contracts with young Dragons and Wyverns. If we have an adult Dragon, then I do not know of it. But it is very unlikely.]
Jason hummed as he finished drying out his hair and walked towards the living room. At least he could set his mind at ease that they wouldn't be attacked anytime soon. But that didn't mean he would let his guard down. He still had to get stronger for the worst-case scenario.
He saw that Gina already woke up and he grinned when he smelled coffee coming from the kitchen. Jason called out a greeting and Gina answered back with a smile in her voice. She asked Jason how he wanted his coffee and he told her black with no sugar.
Jason went and got changed into his uniform and a few minutes later he came out and saw Gina setting the table with some toast and coffee. Jason walked up behind her and kissed her cheek and Gina reached back to run her hand through his hair before bringing him down for a deeper kiss.
"Morning babe. Did you check on our princess?"
Gina spoke with a small smile and Jason hummed as he moved to take a seat. He took a bite from the toast and grimaced a little when he tasted some salt on it. He gave Gina a look of sheer disbelief and she blinked innocently like she didn't know what the hell she had done wrong! Who the hell puts salt on bread before toasting it!? Jason shook his head and braced himself before simply eating the rest of the toast quickly! It wasn't so bad if you held your breath!
Gina sat down opposite Jason and she ate her toast like there was nothing wrong with it, and Jason wondered how fucked her tastebuds were for her to see this as normal food! Jason took his coffee and drank it slowly as Gina spoke up again. Thankfully there was nothing wrong with the coffee.
"I can't believe you're really going back to school. I thought you would drop out in a heartbeat."
"I would've, but Mum had a point when she told me to go back. Besides, there's someone I want to meet about selling Magic Crystals."
Gina shrugged along in slight agreement. Gina remembered how quickly she dropped out of school after gaining her Gift, so she thought it would be the same for Jason since he was so focused on work. But at the same time, she knew that Jason had already made a lot of money from the Magic Crystals he sold. Maybe he wasn't that worried about work anymore because he was confident in making more money.
"How about you? What are you doing today?"
Jason asked this while finishing off his coffee and Gina answered quickly.
"I'm going to New York with the guild. A Red Gate opened and we won the contract for it, so we want to clear it out as soon as possible. The message I got from the guild said I was 'very important' to the success of the raid so I should try to be present. I had this spar with one of the guys from my guild yesterday. He would usually wipe the floor with me anytime we sparred in the past, but this time, I won so easily that I couldn't believe it. I think they're starting to take me more seriously because of it. The current vice-captain even told them that they've been thinking about giving him the Vice-captain position."
Jason's mouth split into a proud grin. It was always nice to hear about your girl wiping the floor with someone else, but there was something about the way she spoke that told Jason there was more to this. He put the coffee cup aside.
"Are you going to take the offer?"
Jason asked calmly, but he was surprised when he saw Gina's face scrunch up slightly. It was the same look she would always have when she was conflicted about something and didn't know what to do yet. Jason asked Gina what was wrong and Gina sighed and drank some of her own coffee before saying:
"I don't know if I want to take it. When I didn't stand a chance at getting it, I felt like it was everything I wanted. But now that I might actually get it, I don't really feel anything. And when we were talking yesterday, my superior said something that made me doubt their actual motive. I think... I think they only want to give me the position so I can convince you to join our guild."
Jason scoffed in disbelief once he heard that. Did those idiots really think it was a good idea to use her loved ones against Gina? If there was one thing that Gina hated, it was putting the people she cared about in danger. Trying to use him as a bargaining chip was the last thing they should have done.
Jason reached out and took Gina by the hand.
"Do you actually want the position?"
Gina looked into Jason's eyes, and she saw that he was asking her for her honest opinion. She looked into herself and thought about it for a few seconds and by the time she opened her eyes again, she realized that she really wanted it.

STRONGEST NECROMANCER SYSTEMC109: It's Him!
Chapter 109: It's Him!
"Do you actually want the position?"
Gina looked into Jason's eyes and she saw that he was asking her for her honest opinion. She looked into herself and thought about it for a few seconds, and by the time she opened her eyes again, she realized that she really wanted the position. She had been looking forward to the position for a long time now, and she didn't want to let it go now that it was so close.
"Yeah, I think I do."
"Then go for it. I know you'll do a great job. If they keep trying to make me join, then I'll go talk to them."
Gina smiled.
"Thanks, babe."
Jason nodded and leaned back in the chair. Jason then reached into his Alternate Dimension and pulled out the [Adamantine Ant's Heart] that he got as a reward for killing the Ant Queen. Gina had been in the middle of drinking the last of her coffee when Jason placed the orb on the table, and once she saw it, she felt her brow furrow in confusion. She slowly put her cup down and asked,
"What the hell is that?"
Jason grinned before telling Gina to pick it up. Gina was still skeptical, but she did as she was told and picked up the orb. Once Gina grabbed it, she immediately felt her mana surge through her body like an undeniable wave! Her eyes widened in shock and she felt her entire body shiver from the amount of power that was shooting through her at that moment! What in the world was this!? Gina felt like she could take on an Eldritch rank on her own!
What Gina was experiencing was the effect of the Artefact! The artefact's description said that it gave a hundred percent boost to every spell cast by the wielder, and Gina's mana was rising significantly in response to that boost!
Gina turned to look at Jason in shock and she saw him grinning at her in a knowing way! Where in the world did Jason get this from? This was definitely an artefact! There was no other explanation for the power that she could feel! But it wasn't just any artefact—it was a power-boosting artefact! These artefacts were some of the rarest items in the market, and it would normally cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to get even one of these! The only way you could find an artefact this powerful was if you killed the Eldritch rank boss of an Orange Gate! Gina's eyes widened in shock as she realized what was happening!
"This is the artefact you got from the Orange Gate? Jason... I can't take this."
Gina remembered Jason telling her that he cleared out an Orange Gate and that was where he found the princess. That was the only explanation that Gina could find for Jason having something this powerful. But Gina couldn't take this. Gina always believed in moderation and she always tried her best not to impose on the people around her by taking too much from them! That was the whole reason why she dropped out of school. She knew that it was hard for her parents to keep sending her to school because of how hard their jobs were and she didn't want to make them suffer, so she simply dropped out! She felt like receiving something this expensive from Jason was too much!
Jason shook his head and pushed the orb back to Gina. Jason could have used the orb for himself, but he knew that he would feel a lot calmer knowing that Gina was able to protect herself inside the Gate when he wasn't with her. At least with this artefact, Jason was sure that she would be well protected.
"You don't need to worry about the cost. You're more important to me than whatever I can make selling this."
Gina felt a blush rising on her cheek once she heard what Jason said and she pulled the orb to her chest as she tried to slow down the butterflies! This was the first time anyone had ever given her something this precious as a gift, and Gina couldn't even begin to describe how she felt at that moment! She gave Jason a look of utter adoration and Jason couldn't help but blush slightly at her intense gaze.
Jason coughed into his hand to try and hide his embarrassment before he stood up and grabbed his things from the table while saying that he had to go to school.
"The wolves will stay here and look after the princess, so you can head out anytime you want."
Jason turned to Gina with a smile, and the smile widened as Gina suddenly flew into his arms with a tight hug! Gina pressed herself against him and Jason happily returned the hug before leaning down to give her a kiss. Gina hung off Jason's neck and moaned into the kiss, and it didn't take long for Jason to realize that he was already reacting to the sound of her voice! Jason's hand traveled down to her ass and squeezed it softly and he heard Gina moan into his mouth as she pressed herself tighter against him!
Jason broke the kiss quickly before his arousal grew too much! If he wasn't careful, he would just forget all about school and stay with Gina today!
"I'll see you when I get back, okay?"
Jason waved while walking out and Gina pouted at Jason before she waved back with a smile. Once he left the house, Gina felt a pang go through her chest as she already missed his presence and she held the orb he had given her closer before sighing! Gina couldn't wait for him to get back!
...
Vroom!
The streets leading up to Riverdale Public High School were packed with students as they headed towards the large building. The students were dressed in white t-shirts and black trousers and skirts, with black blazers topping off the look and giving them a very refined and aristocratic appearance. Most of them were walking in groups and talking about the various events that happened over the past few days.
"Hey, did you hear about the Orange Gate that the BloodRavens closed down yesterday? They said the Vice Captain and her team killed the boss in only three hours!"
"That's nothing! I heard about another Orange Gate in Germany. The Predator dived into it and cleared it out all on his own!"
"Really!? The Predator was there alone!? I thought it was his guild!"
"The guild stayed outside and he entered on his own! The reporter that interviewed him after said he did it just because he was bored!"
"Aww man, I need to find that clip! Is it on MeTube?"
"Dude, y'all aren't even talking about the most important thing that happened! Did you hear about Jason?!"
"Yeah, I heard he cleared out a Red Gate on his own. You think it's true?"
"I think so. The SMD was there and everything! I saw the clip from when he came out of the Gate and he had some mad aura, bro. He walked out like he was one of the Five Rulers or something."
"Nah, I think it's a lie. How in the world will a new awakener clear out a Red Gate? Even the veterans can't do it! No way!"
"It's Jason."
"Yeah, I know who we're talking about."
"No, you idiot! I said it's Jason! Look over there!"
Vroom!
The streets leading up to Riverdale High School suddenly grew deathly quiet as all the students who had been walking up to the building stopped in their tracks to look at the boy riding up on a white motorcycle! Jason had an emotionless look on his face as he ignored the various people gawking and pointing in his direction and made his way toward the building.
"Holy shit, it's actually him!"
"Do you think we can go talk to him?"
"Nah bro, I've never even said a word to him before! It'll be weird to go talk to him now! It'll seem like I'm trying too hard!"
"Jason! Over here! Jason!"
A girl suddenly shouted from the distance as she tried to get Jason's attention.

STRONGEST NECROMANCER SYSTEMC110: Join My Guild!
Chapter 110: Join My Guild!
"Jason! Over here! Jason!"
The silence was suddenly broken as a girl standing at the side of the street yelled out to Jason with a wide smile on her face! The girl had never spoken to Jason in her life before now, but the mere fact that Jason was now a celebrity was enough reason for the girl to let go of all her home training as she tried to get Jason's attention! This desperate action was enough to make everyone else snap out of their daze, and it wasn't long before more and more people were calling out to Jason!
"Hey, Jason!"
"Jason! Over here!"
The students were trying their best to get Jason's attention as they hurried towards the gates, but Jason just ignored them all and kept moving. Jason already expected something like this since he knew that regular humans treated superhumans like celebrities. But he wasn't interested in greeting anyone because he didn't know any of them.
PIII!
PIII!!
There were various cars moving along the street both behind and in front of Jason, and one of the cars behind him suddenly let out a loud honk to draw Jason's attention. Jason turned around and noticed the car trying to overtake him. Jason moved to the side to allow the car to go forward, and as it passed, Jason glanced into the car and saw Jared giving him a nasty look from behind the wheel. Jared was the D Rank superhuman that Jason met in the SMD building when he went to sell his Magic crystals, and the interaction they had then must've left a very bad impression on Jared! Jared looked like he was trying his best not to brake-check Jason's bike and make him crash!
Jason turned away to ignore Jared, and Jared grit his teeth in annoyance before he stepped on the pedal and sped off! Jason watched him go calmly and shook his head. Jason could probably overtake him if he wanted to, but Jason wasn't a child who would start a street race over something this petty. Jared was just pissed that Jason wasn't interested in becoming one of his posse. Jared was the unspoken leader of all the superhumans in the school since he used to be the strongest one there, but now that Jason was also a superhuman and stronger than Jared, Jared felt threatened that his throne would be taken away.
It was just too bad that Jason didn't care at all about some petty school throne. What was more pathetic than naming yourself the king of a fucking high school?
Jason made his way into the school building and he swerved his bike towards the parking lot on one side. He parked the bike beside a purple Porsche and he glanced to the side as a tall, beautiful girl emerged from the Porsche. The girl had long blonde hair and a thin figure that would look more suitable on a model than a high school student. She had long legs that went on forever, and she was wearing long black socks that stopped just a few centimeters before her school skirt, leaving a glimpse of her pale thigh exposed.
This girl was named Griselda and she was one of the richest students in the school. She wasn't a superhuman, but everyone in Riverdale High knew not to mess with her because of the amount of connections her father had in the superhuman world. Her father was one of the executive members of the Superhuman Management Department that was in charge of giving Gate contracts to various guilds, so every single superhuman in the city knew not to mess with him or his family or they would never get a contract!
Once Griselda got out of her car, she noticed Jason looking at her and she pulled down her sunglasses to give him a sly glance. Jason raised a brow at her and she only smiled at him before she slammed her door shut and began to come over.
"Jason Marc in the flesh. I didn't think I'd see you around these parts ever again. Awakening as a superhuman and clearing a Red gate all on your first day has made you into quite the celebrity. I wouldn't have been surprised if you decided to drop out."
Griselda held out her hand to Jason and Jason took it in a soft handshake. Griselda calmly grabbed his hand with both of hers and came closer to whisper to him.
"So tell me. Are the rumors true? You really awakened as an A-Rank?"
Jason hesitated for a moment before he finally nodded. Jason was surprised by this entire interaction because he had never seen Griselda walk up to anyone like this before. She didn't even walk up to the other superhumans in the school for a conversation. The only way to talk to her was if you went up to her yourself. He didn't think she would go out of her way to talk to him like this.
Griselda smiled wider when he nodded and she leaned forward. There was a look of excitement in her eyes that made Jason feel slightly uncomfortable, but he decided not to pull away and hear what she had to say.
"I'm sure there are thousands of guilds vying for you to join them. I did some research with my father's department and I saw that no less than fifty-five guilds all over the world had asked for your contact information and assessment results in one way or another. You'll be the most famous man in the world after your assessment. Have you given any thought to which one you'd like to join yet?"
Jason shrugged while slowly pulling his hand away from her hold. This was one of the strangest conversations he had ever had and Jason decided he just wanted to leave.
"I haven't really given any thought to all that. I don't plan on joining any guilds for now, so I'll think more about it when I'm done with the assessment. If you'll excuse me."
Griselda's face almost seemed to light up once she heard that Jason hadn't decided on which guild to join and she came so close that Jason had to lean back to see her properly! Did this girl not know the meaning of personal space!?
"I'd like you to join my guild."
Jason blinked in surprise and then he frowned. What the fuck did she just say?
"What do you mean? But you aren't..."
"I know what you're about to say but it doesn't matter. I am a legal citizen of this country so I have every right to create a guild. I looked this up and I'm certain of it. I plan to be the first-ever leader of a guild who is a regular human, and I believe you'd be a perfect addition to my guild."
Jason couldn't help the look of pure disbelief on his face! What the fuck was this girl going on about? Did she think it was a walk in the park to be the leader of a guild? There was a reason why the leader of a guild was always the strongest member of that guild. It's because people actually die inside of Gates! If you can't trust your leader to get you out of a bad spot when you're facing a powerful monster, then there is no way you'd follow them! Why in the world did she think anyone would follow a powerless leader?
Jason slowly got off his bike and locked it up. He looked over at Griselda and saw that she was still giving him a look of anticipation and he decided it would be best to burst her bubble now before she tried to do anything too dangerous.
Jason's first words made Griselda's smile die a brutal death.
"You should give up on your dreams."

STRONGEST NECROMANCER SYSTEMC111: You're Just Jealous
Chapter 111: You're Just Jealous
Jason's first words made Griselda's smile die a brutal death.
"You should give up on your dreams. Going into a Gate isn't the walk in the park you think it is. People actually die in there. I was lucky enough to awaken before I got eaten by the monsters, but others weren't so lucky."
Griselda felt a strained smile grow on her face as Jason continued talking, and after a while, she raised her hand and told him to stop!
"I understand all you're saying, but don't think you can tell me what I can or can't do just because you became a superhuman a few days ago."
"I'm just trying to help you—"
"I know, but I don't need your help. I've already heard everything you're about to say from a thousand other people before. No one believes I can do what I set my heart to, but that won't make me give up. I'll become a Guild Captain even if it takes me years to do it. I swear it. And when I do become a Guild Captain, I'll make you join me."
Griselda turned away from Jason and began to walk into the building. Jason just watched her go with a look of mild respect. Griselda really believed that she could do this even with all the disadvantages in her way, and Jason couldn't help but respect that.
Jason took three Magic Crystals from his pocket and quickly threw them in his mouth before he started walking to the school building. He wasn't going to say anything more to Griselda since her mind was so hellbent on this. If she wanted to die inside a Gate, then who was he to tell her not to?
The other students were still gawking at Jason, and some of them were even trying to talk to him, but he ignored them all and just kept walking. He didn't care about the students before he became a superhuman, and now that he was one, he still didn't care.
But as Jason was entering the building, he was suddenly stopped by one of the students. It was a male student who was a full head shorter than Jason. He had brown hair and a strict face that made him look slightly constipated, and on the right side of his uniform was a prefect's badge. The boy looked up at Jason with intensity, and Jason raised a brow at the shorter boy while waiting for him to say something.
"You should know better than to cause a commotion on your first day back in school."
Jason rolled his eyes before throwing his hand around the boy's shoulder with a laugh and ruffling his hair! The boy cried out in protest and tried to throw Jason off!
"Get off me, you brute!"
The boy cried out in anger and Jason couldn't help but laugh as he finally let him go. The boy's name was Ferdinand and he was the Head Prefect of the school as well as one of the only students in Riverdale High that Jason could tolerate being around. Jason and Ferdinand started off on a very bad note when they first met because Ferdinand thought Jason was just a brute who always looked for trouble, and Jason thought Ferdinand had a meter-long stick up his ass. But after they learned more about each other, they each realized that they had been wrong.
Ferdinand realized that Jason wasn't just a brute or a troublemaker. He was also someone who cared about his family, and he was only missing so many days of school because he was trying to make money for his sister's schooling. And Jason decided that the stick up Ferdinand's ass was only about half a meter long.
After they both came to terms with each other, they became begrudging friends and even spent time together in school whenever they were both free. Ferdinand made sure to cover for Jason whenever Jason was absent because of work, and Jason kept some of the kids out of trouble to make the workload easier on Ferdinand. But no matter how close they got, Jason knew that the stick up Ferdinand's ass would never allow him to loosen up even a little.
Ferdinand huffed as he organized his hair back into its smooth, slicked-back form while giving Jason a glare, and Jason just grinned as he spoke.
"Try to loosen up a little, dude. If you keep that glare on your face all the time, you'll look thirty by the time you're twenty."
"I'd rather look thirty than keep acting like a fifteen-year-old."
Jason laughed at the jab and Ferdinand huffed before he finally finished organizing his hair and looked up at Jason again.
"So you're a superhuman now. I really shouldn't be surprised by the things you do anymore, but this seems a bit excessive, even for you."
"Hah. You're just jealous."
Ferdinand blushed in embarrassment before his eyes narrowed into a glare. He wouldn't deny that he was a little jealous of Jason's luck. Becoming a superhuman was something every child dreamt of at least once in their life, and even Ferdinand had wished at one point that he would develop abilities. It was just too bad that they never came.
But Ferdinand refused to allow Jason to embarrass him like this. He regained his composure and turned around to start walking down the hallway.
"Come with me. The principal asked to speak to you. Try not to cause any trouble and behave yourself while speaking to her. I know you don't have much respect for authority, but even you aren't above expulsion."
Jason laughed at Ferdinand! This bastard was trying to deflect from the topic! He was fucking embarrassed! Jason immediately came over and ruffled Ferdinand's hair again, and Jason laughed as Ferdinand cried out in anger!
...
The two boys made their way to the principal's office and Ferdinand knocked once on the door to tell the principal that they were there. Once the principal told them to enter, Ferdinand said goodbye to Jason and left to complete his rounds.
Jason entered the office and he was immediately hit with the smell of old books and wood. The principal's office was built like a cabin. The floors and ceiling were made from stained wood and there were three large shelves filled with old voluminous books lining the western end of the room. At the center of the room, the principal's mahogany table sat against the light coming from the window at the side, and there were three chairs opposite the table for guests. Jason closed the door behind him and looked at the principal with a respectful nod and a small smile.
The principal's name was Miss Harold, and she was a beautiful woman in her early thirties. She had short brown hair and deep brown eyes that attracted many men when she was younger. But even with her age, Jason couldn't deny that she was still beautiful. She had a small nose and full red lips that barely wrinkled when she smiled. Her eyes were slanted in an almost seductive way and no amount of modest dressing would be capable of hiding the extraordinary figure that she had. There have been many incidents of young boys in their early twenties hitting on her because they thought she was around their age.
Once the principal saw Jason, she quickly stood from her table as some tears gathered in her eyes and she moved around and came to hug him tightly! Jason easily accepted the hug with a grin and he pat her back gently as he felt her sigh against him in relief.

STRONGEST NECROMANCER SYSTEMC112: A Unlikely Relationship
Chapter 112: A Unlikely Relationship
Jason would normally never allow anyone other than his family and Gina to touch him like this, but he made an exception for the principal because of the past they shared together. Jason first met Miss Harold while he was working his part-time job as a mechanic on the west side of the city. That day, Miss Harold's car had broken down in the middle of a deserted road, and Jason had met her while she was crying. He was delivering a car for one of the store's clients, but he couldn't just leave her behind, so he stopped to help out.
Apparently, she had a meeting in thirty minutes and her phone was out of signal, so she couldn't call for a car to come pick her up. Jason tried calling someone as well, but he realized that he also didn't have any signal and the nearest shop was almost an hour away, so there was no way she could get her car there in time to fix it. Jason checked the engine to see if he could fix what was wrong, but he realized that her gasket had blown, so he would have to replace it before things would work well again—and he didn't have any tools for that.
Miss Harold was already starting to tear up again when she realized that he couldn't do anything. This meeting was very important to her because it would determine whether or not she got a promotion, and being late would be the same as saying she wasn't suitable for the job!
After hearing her story, Jason decided that he wouldn't abandon her. He was delivering a car, but he was sure that the owner wouldn't mind if the car came a little later. Jason told Miss Harold to get into the car, and he drove her through more than half the city like a madman to get her to her job on time! Miss Harold held on desperately and she was terrified for her life for most of the ride, but Jason's dry jokes and curse words towards the other drivers on the road never failed to make her laugh!
Jason barely managed to get Miss Harold to her interview on time, and he told her to give him her key so he would call a towing company for her car. Miss Harold would have normally been skeptical about giving a complete stranger her key, but she couldn't help but trust Jason after what he did for her. They exchanged numbers, she gave him her key, and she went in for her interview.
Thankfully, the interview went well, and after she was done, Miss Harold was surprised to see Jason waiting for her outside the building with her car. He managed to get it fixed that quickly and returned it immediately!? That was amazing!
Miss Harold couldn't stop herself from giving Jason the tightest hug she had ever given anyone in her life! At that moment, she felt like she could kiss him! She thanked Jason profusely, and Jason told her it was okay. He handed her the keys and prepared to leave, but she immediately stopped him and told him that she had to pay him for what he did! Jason waved her away and said that the gasket was easy to replace. It really didn't matter, but she was adamant! She wasn't going to allow him to go unless he let her pay him back somehow!
So that was how Jason and Miss Harold ended up having a meal together at a later date. They became fast friends, and Miss Harold found herself growing more and more attracted to him. But all of that ended the moment she heard how old he was. Jason had only been sixteen years old, and he was also a student in her school!
Miss Harold was shocked beyond belief! It was impossible to accept something like that at face value because Jason didn't look anything like his age! He looked at least twenty years old! But when she saw the ID card and his records from her office, she realized that she had almost fallen in love with a high schooler! Miss Harold knew that Jason only saw her as a friend, but she wouldn't have minded if they had a relationship! She would have been on a one-way trip to prison if anyone ever caught wind of what she was doing!
After she found out his age, Miss Harold put some distance between her and Jason, and she made sure no one in school knew that the both of them were close. But when she heard about Jason being dragged into the Red Gate, the fear in her heart almost killed her! She thought she would never get to see him again and that day was the first time in years that she prayed so much! It was only after hearing the news that he survived that she started to calm down.
Miss Harold tightened her hold on Jason before speaking in a low voice.
"I thought you were dead, Jason."
Jason chuckled again while patting her on the back.
"Don't worry about me. I wouldn't die to a mere Red Gate."
Miss Harold couldn't help but laugh along with Jason once he said this. Jason knew he wasn't the best at handling women, but thankfully he had enough practice from taking care of Gina all those years, so he knew that Miss Harold would be fine after getting her emotions out.
Once Miss Harold seemed to get herself back, she finally pulled back and looked him over with a gentle smile on her face.
"I was thinking of calling earlier, but I thought you'd be busy with the SMD and guilds trying to recruit you. I didn't even think you'd come back to school. I... I'm glad you're okay."
Jason nodded and told her thanks. It was nice to know your friend was worried about you. Jason hummed a little as a short silence stretched between the both of them. Miss Harold was still holding him by the shoulders, and he had to speak up a few seconds later.
"Ferdinand said you wanted to tell me something...?"
"Oh...! Oh, right, sorry! Please sit down!"
Miss Harold seemed to snap out of a daze when Jason spoke, and she quickly gave him a seat while walking around to take a seat on her own side of the table! She shook her head internally and took a deep breath before sighing to calm herself! She had to get a grip! She had been a single moment away from just kissing him right then!
Miss Harold organized herself properly and she finally went into her full principal mode.
"I'm glad you could come see me on such short notice, Mr. Jason. I was worried I wouldn't see you within these walls again, but I'm glad you decided to finish your year. I wouldn't want to lose such a bright student."
Jason had to struggle to keep a straight face when the principal began speaking to him so seriously. Miss Harold told Jason that they had to maintain a clear separation between their personal friendship and their professional relationship. That meant she wouldn't talk to him as a friend while she was dealing with school matters. Jason respected her decision and he made sure not to interrupt her flow while she was in 'principal' mode.
Miss Harold smiled while leaning forward with her hands stapled together, and Jason returned her smile calmly. Miss Harold knew all about Jason's family situation and how much he needed money at home. That was the reason why he had been working as a mechanic all those years ago, and it was also why she didn't force him to stop working after finding out that he was only a high schooler. So she wouldn't have been surprised if he had abandoned school and gone into a guild to begin making money once he became a superhuman. She would have been disappointed, but she wouldn't hold it against him.

Chapter 113: Let's Have Dinner
"I talked with my mum about it and figured I might as well finish the final year since I'm only a few months away from graduation. Besides, I already made enough money to last me for a while."
Miss Harold smiled happily. That was a very smart way to look at things. It was the exact same thing that most of the superhumans in the school were doing. They planned to only finish compulsory education to get a good foundation, after which they would ignore college and simply join a guild. The principal gave Jason another respectful smile before her face finally eased into a more serious look. This time she spoke with some hardness behind her voice.
"I'm glad you decided to complete your education, and you should never doubt that I will always root for you in the future. But I would also like to point out that things will be very different now that you are a superhuman. This school is not solely for educating superhumans, so there has been a lot of discussion between the staff and parents about the safety of regular humans who are at a significant disadvantage physically. I promised the parents that they didn't have to worry about anything since every superhuman understands their limits and signed a binding contract when entering the school to ensure they didn't step out of bounds.
"As someone who awakened rather late in life, we've never had to deal with your 'unique' situation before, but I want to believe we won't have any issues even with the suddenness of the situation. Are you willing to sign the contract that the other superhuman students signed? It basically states that you will face dire consequences if you consciously cause harm to any student with your abilities. Nothing too serious."
Jason hummed. That was something new to him. Jason never really paid attention to what was happening in the superhuman world, so he didn't think it would be this complicated just to go to school. But he understood. He could cause a lot of damage to the students here without even trying, so they needed a way to make sure he was kept in line.
Jason didn't intend to hurt anyone anyway, so signing a contract was fine. There was nothing a regular human could do to cause him any harm.
"I'll sign it. Can we do it right now or should I come back some other time?"
Jason spoke up, and Miss Harold smiled thankfully before reaching into her drawer and producing the contract. Jason leaned back and began to read through the document as she watched him. Jason wasn't a lawyer, but the contract was really just a single piece of paper that had a few paragraphs written down. It basically stated that the superhumans signing it promises not to cause any conscious destruction to the school property or personnel or they will be faced with 'sufficient' punishment as directed by the law.
It was simple enough that even a middle schooler would be able to understand everything there. And besides, Jason trusted Miss Harold enough not to lead him astray. Jason signed the document, and Miss Harold thanked him before she stood and walked around the table, bending over to give Jason another tight hug.
"I just want to say I'm glad you're okay again, Jason. I don't know what I would've done without your silly jokes. Do you have time later? Maybe we can get something to eat when I get off work."
Jason hummed as he thought about it and finally shook his head.
"Sorry, my girlfriend's going to be waiting for me at home, so I need to get back as soon as possible."
Miss Harold blinked as she pulled back. Oh...?
"Girlfriend? I didn't know you had a girlfriend. That's nice."
"Yeah, my childhood friend, Gina. We started going out recently."
"W-Wow. That's... nice."
Miss Harold shook her head and laughed softly before she gave Jason an honest smile and spoke up.
"If you're going to be busy, it's fine. Maybe we can reschedule. I just wanted us to catch up and make sure you're doing okay. Well, you better get to class now. We'll talk some other time."
Miss Harold gestured towards the door and Jason nodded in understanding before he stood and left. Once he was gone, Miss Harold fell back into her seat to stare up at the ceiling and let out a suffering sigh. She already knew that she and Jason would never work out, but she still felt pain in her heart.
...
Jason walked to class with a slightly guilty expression. Jason wasn't an idiot and he could tell that the principal liked him right from the moment they met two years ago. But Jason knew that they wouldn't work, not just because of their age difference, but because he had been in love with Gina even back then.
The way Miss Harold always hugged him and the way she smiled at his jokes were obvious tells that she liked him as more than a friend, and Jason had actually allowed his actual age to slip into one of their conversations so he would discourage her advances. Thankfully, she wasn't someone who would relentlessly pursue a romantic interest regardless of the consequences, so he didn't have to worry about her trying to force herself on him.
The walkway leading into the classes was already deserted since the bell rang a few minutes ago, and Jason walked past a few classes that were already in session. The students in the classes would all stop whatever they were doing to stare at the door whenever he passed, and he tried his best to ignore them since he already knew this was normal for superhumans.
The regular students were all in awe of the superhumans in the school, and since they were all young, they treated them the same way you would treat a celebrity that you met on the street. They gawked and stared while debating whether or not to go up for a picture and an autograph. But thankfully, after a while, their interest would die down and things would go back to normal. It had happened so many times already that Jason already knew what to expect.
[Eye of The King] has been activated
Jason suddenly activated his Legion skill and the space in front of him blurred as another scene played in his head. The scene was from the eyes of the two large wolves that were looking after the princess back in his house, and Jason saw that they were both lying on the ground watching the princess closely. The princess was still on his bed and Jason frowned slightly as he wondered why she hadn't woken up already.
Was there some other injury she had that was preventing her from waking up? It's been nearly a whole day since she passed out, so shouldn't she already be getting herself back? Jason decided that he would try to wake her up once he got back. Maybe she just needed some sort of stimulus or something.
Jason deactivated the skill and his eyes turned red as he activated his [Predator's Gaze] while passing in front of a large window. Jason looked outside the building and scanned the horizon for any signs of the agent who had been following him around, and Jason frowned when he didn't see her. Jason had recalled Fenrir back into the Alternate Dimension when the sun started to rise this morning so no one would see him, but he was able to see the agent following him when he was coming to school earlier. But now that she wasn't there anymore, Jason wondered where she had gone.
