STRONGEST NECROMANCER SYSTEMC182: Three Things
Chapter 182: Three Things
'So it's more useful in the hands of someone from Radagan?'
Jason was impressed by the artefact. It was an S rank, so that meant it would last for a long time, and its special attributes were also pretty impressive. But Jason had a lot of other artifacts that could help boost his attack power, and he didn't immediately need a fire-based artefact, so he decided to let Riyala have this one.
"Here you go. It'll help with mana conservation."
Jason handed the artefact to Riyala, and Riyala's eyes widened in surprise when she saw this! Was Jason really going to give her the artefact just like that? Riyala had sensed the amount of power within that artefact and she knew that it had to be at least an S Rank! Something like that would normally cost up to twenty gold coins!
Jason raised a brow as he urged her to take the artefact, and Riyala gently collected it and stared at it closely before she bowed her head in thanks. Jason waved the thanks away with a calm smile before he turned back to the other artefacts in front of him. It would be a pain in the ass to sort all of these out, and Jason wasn't really in the mood to use [Appraisal] so many times.
[The system can utilize the skill [Appraisal] to read the properties of any artefact the user places within his Alternate Dimension.]
The system sent this message back once it sensed the problem Jason was facing and Jason hummed in surprise before he decided that he would just do that instead. The Suborindates were still bringing the other Artefacts close, so he would read all of them together when they were done.
For now, Jason decided he was going to get some information out of the leader of the Phantoms. Jason put his hand towards Alpha's dead body and called out:
"Resurrect."
Doon!
Jason's mana surged through the tent and latched onto Alpha's soul before dragging it out easily! Jason used to have a slightly hard time resurrecting people with high intelligence due to how much willpower they would normally have, but that was no longer a problem since Jason had gotten so much practice. He was more than capable of overpowering the will of anyone weaker than him.

+3% Agility

The user has inherited the dormant Attribute [Shadow Walker]
The user has gained 1/5 of the Arcane Art [Lord of Shadows].
——
In order to gain the full power of the Arcane Art [Lord of Shadows], the user must gain all [5] Attributes that make up that Aspect.
——
[Shadow Walker [Dormant]: This attribute marks the user as a true dweller of shadows and allows the user to travel unseen across any shadow. It is advised that the user exercises caution while using this Attribute due to the fact that other Attribute Wielders will look to steal this Attribute from the user and make it their own. It is a mark that the user is seeking to become a true practitioner of the Arcane Arts.
This Attribute is Dormant. In order to activate it, the user must gain all other parts of the skill [Wandering Shadow]]
——
'So the other Attributes are with other people? Will I get some sort of warning when I'm close to them? Alpha had the Attribute for a long time and she never ran into another Attribute Wielder, so that means she must've been actively avoiding them to make sure they didn't kill her.'
The system immediately responded to Jason's thoughts.
[Yes, the user will be able to sense when he is in close proximity to another Attribute Wielder. The Attributes were created to work as a single unit, but they were shattered and spread across the Primordial Expanse before being absorbed by various Magic wielders. When the attributes are in closer proximity, they call out to one another in order to try and combine back into a full Arcane Art.]
Jason hummed in understanding. That made it seem like the Attributes were actually alive, and from what Jason could feel inside him, Jason knew that he was right. The system said it created the [Wandering Shadow] skill to mimic the [Lord of Shadows] Attribute, and the [Wandering Shadow] skill had been taking mana from him all this time. Every time Jason or another one of his subordinates moved through the shadows, he felt a dip in his mana depending on how many he sent in there at the same time. It wasn't that serious since Jason was gaining his mana back faster than he was losing it, but it was still a dip and it would have only been an issue if he left his subordinates in the shadows for a very long time. But now that he had gained the Attribute, Jason could feel that it was a lot more in sync with his magic. It was almost like Jason could feel the shadows around him and he could sense when there were any disturbances in the shadows even with his eyes closed. The shadows were speaking to Jason.
'But there's still something missing. Is it because it's dormant for now? I should be able to unlock it once I resurrect the other Phantoms and gain the skills from them.'
Jason hummed at that realization and he told his subordinates to begin gathering all the bodies of the dead phantoms together so that he could resurrect them. Riyala was still standing to one side while watching him very closely. Jason told her to take a seat while waiting, and he smiled when Riyala blushed once she realized she had been staring and she quickly tried to find a seat!
Jason turned to Alpha and saw she was still waiting on his orders. Alpha still looked like a member of the Raksha Race with her two horns and dark red skin, but now her eyes were a deep purple and there were deep purple lines travelling across her body. Jason felt that intense surge of anger that he always felt whenever he saw her face. It would be difficult for Jason to get used to having her as one of his subordinates but he would have to deal with it. She was an important asset and if Jason wanted to prevent another crisis like this, then he was going to need her for his next plan of action.
Jason was going to be gaining a lot of assassin-type subordinates soon, and since Alpha was the most experienced of them all, he was going to leave her in charge of his Stealth team. That way, he would be able to prevent another situation like this from ever happening by nipping it in the bud before it even got off the ground! But first, Jason needed to know more about who had hired Alpha. Jason asked Alpha this question and Alpha answered quickly.
'The Sovereign ruling Radagan hired us to capture the princess. They paid us one hundred gold coins with another one hundred promised after the work was finished.'
Jason wasn't surprised by that knowledge. He knew that there had been a civil war on Radagan, so they were the most likely ones behind this. Jason asked if there were any other groups hired to come after the princess and Alpha shook her head and said there weren't. The Phantoms had a very high success rate, so the Sovereign didn't think he needed to hire anyone else.
Jason nodded and finally turned away. Now that Jason was sure that there wouldn't be any other immediate attacks, he had to deal with three things. The first thing was figuring out exactly how to get the [Banshee's Tears]. The tears were a necessary artefact for making the Elixir of Life, and Jason wanted to get those tears first since the system told him that the other component would be harder to acquire.
The second thing that Jason needed to get was the Magic Crystals in the Heart of the Lich. But this was going to be more difficult because the system told Jason that his current power level was too low to handle the Lich. If Jason had to guess, then he would say that the Lich was the boss of a Yellow Gate, and all its subordinates would be somewhere on the same level as Raya or Ragnar. That was not something that Jason would handle right now, especially if there were hundreds of Lich subordinates in the Gate.
Jason needed to get stronger. He needed more subordinates and he needed to increase his own base power level. The lich was also a necromancer like Jason, so it would be difficult for Jason to handle it without coming up with a reasonable plan of action first. But after Jason finally managed to get the Elixir of Life and resurrected Gina, then Jason was going to go and handle the third thing he needed to deal with. Jason was going to kill the Sovereign and everyone involved with him

STRONGEST NECROMANCER SYSTEMC183: The Desire For Revenge
Chapter 183: The Desire For Revenge
After Jason finally managed to get the Elixir of Life and resurrect Gina, Jason was going to go and handle the third thing he needed to deal with: Jason was going to kill the Sovereign and everyone involved with him.
The civil war on Radagan was not Jason's fight. Jason hadn't cared enough about it to go and risk his life fighting for that world. Even though he cared about Riyala, it was not enough reason for him to get involved in a war. And if things had remained the same, then Jason would have never gotten involved. But things changed the moment Gina got hurt. Jason didn't care that this wasn't his fight and he didn't give a damn about causing some inter-world diplomatic problem. Jason was going to pay the Sovereign back for sending the Phantoms to his home.
'But first, I need to find a way to get the Banshee's Tears.'
Jason hummed curiously as he thought about this. He glanced at all the artifacts in front of him and he turned and asked Alpha if she had any [Banshee's Tears] in there. Alpha shook her head and said she didn't. Her group mainly acquired weapons-type Artefacts and magical crystals from their victims. The Banshee's Tears could only be gotten from a Crying Banshee in an Orange Gate.
Jason nodded calmly before he asked the system how to get the tears.
[The Crying Banshee is an Eldritch Rank boss that exists in a world one-dimensional leap away from Earth. There are no current Gates where the Crying Banshee has taken residence, but there was a Gate that was closed recently in Greenville which had a Crying Banshee as the Gate Boss.]
Jason's brow furrowed when he heard the name of the city. Greenville was a relatively popular city in the country and Jason only had to think for a few seconds before he remembered exactly why they were so popular. That was the city where the BloodRaven guild was operating and it was also where Katarina Ford lived.
'Does that mean the Gate with the Crying Banshee was cleared by the BloodRaven guild? If they cleared it recently, then it's likely they still have the artefact. I just have to find out where it is.'
Jason gained a resolute expression on his face as he finally decided what he had to do now. He was going to split his attention between finding the Banshee's Tears and getting stronger as quickly as possible, and the moment he reached a level of strength that would allow him to survive against the Lich, he would go and look for it.
"Jason, is everything okay?"
Riyala suddenly spoke up when she noticed that Jason had been staring off into space for too long and Jason blinked and came back to reality before turning to her. He gave Riyala a calm smile and Riyala smiled back before turning to glance at the pile of bodies that was building up outside the tent.
"Did you ask them to do that? You want to resurrect all the Phantoms?"
Riyala asked curiously and Jason nodded and he stood while talking.
"There are a few things I need to find before I can help Gina, so they're going to help me get them."
Riyala looked down sadly and a surge of self-loathing filled her heart as she spoke.
"I-I'm sorry for what happened, Jason. I know it's because you helped me that—"
A hand landed on Riyala's head and she looked up quickly to see Jason gazing at her calmly.
"That's enough. Feeling bad about it isn't going to change anything. Gina wanted to help you because she cared about you, and even now I'm sure she wouldn't regret her decision. And besides, Gina isn't gone, she's just unconscious. You can apologize to her when she comes back.."
Jason cut Riyala off before she could get into an entire monologue about how sorry she was. Jason knew that Gina was aware of the risks before choosing to help Riyala, and Gina did it anyway because that was just the sort of person she was. If anyone needed to feel bad, then it was Jason. He was too lax in protecting his home and that was why things ended up this way. Jason was going to make sure it never happened again.
Jason waited calmly and watched Riyala to make sure she understood he was serious and Riyala eventually ducked her head with a blush and nodded back to him in agreement. Jason pat Riyala's head softly before telling her to follow him out of the test. Riyala quickly stood and followed Jason, and she swallowed in slight awe when she saw the sheer number of dead bodies that Jason's subordinates had piled up! Riyala still couldn't believe how easily Jason was able to deal with the Phantoms that were feared by almost everyone in the Primordial Expanse!
Jason put his hand out towards the pile of bodies in front of him and called out his command.
"Resurrect."
Doon!
Riyala took steps back as she felt an intense surge of mana spread across the area and she couldn't hide her shock as she saw the Phantom's souls rising from their bodies! The Phantos looked even more imposing than they had been when they were alive! Their eyes were a dark purple and there were deep purple lines traveling across their bodies like vines! Just looking into those eyes was enough to make Riyala swallow in fear, but none of them made any threatening moves. Instead, they all stood before Jason and waited for his orders.

This was what Jason's system tab looked like now. He had finally passed the 50% mark in his Rank progression and it wouldn't take long before he finally reached SS Rank. But once Jason's eyes landed on the Mission tab and the new mission there, he felt his eyes narrow into slits. It was a sobering reminder of what had been tormenting him all this time and Jason closed his eyes and released a small sigh to calm himself.
Ding~!
The sound of a new notification appearing on his tab gave Jason a chance to distract himself and Jason immediately took it! He closed the main tab that showed his stats and opened the new tab!

Chapter 184: New Class Skill

[Milestone 3: Gain [500] Pawn Class Subordinates]
-> Pawn's Gambit: This allows all pawns that are under the command of higher-ranked pieces to gain a 100% boost in abilities if their commander is killed. This boost will last until the Rank Commander is resurrected by the user.
[Milestone 4: Gain [3000] Pawn Class Subordinates]
-> ???
——
Jason hummed curiously as he read through the new milestone description for the Pawns! He could boost the power of his pawns by allowing the commander to be killed? That was insane! Jason knew that even though a Pawn was to gain a hundred percent boost in its abilities, it still wouldn't be as strong as any of the other pieces, but that didn't mean the boost wasn't going to be very significant!
For example, Raya had twenty Pawns under her command and most of them were Pawn Rank III's that had been difficult to handle when they were still alive. If Raya was somehow killed while fighting a battle, then all twenty of them would immediately be twice as strong as they had once been! This was going to be very useful in the moment when Jason needed to preserve mana as much as possible! Since the Pawns would keep their powers until their commander is resurrected again, Jason could preserve mana by holding off on the resurrection and just focusing on making sure that the other subordinates finish the battle properly!
Jason smiled a little as he appreciated the new boost and then he turned to the other tab that opened at the side.
——
Unique Skill Tree
[Rook Class]
[Milestone 1: Gain 1 Rook Class Subordinate]
-> 30% Boost in stats relative to the stats of the subordinates.
-> 500% Boost in durability to subordinates in the [Rook Class].
-> Unlock the Unique Skill [Linear Charge]
[Milestone 2: Gain 10 Rook Class Subordinates]
-> King's Substitute: This allows the user to switch places [Castle] with any Rook class subordinate outside his Alternate Dimension. Each use of this technique will consume [10 x [Distance in miles]] MP.
[Milestone 3: Gain 50 Rook Class Subordinates]
-> ???
——
Jason's eyes widened in shock once he read through the new technique available for the rook class! He could switch places with any of them!? That was fucking broken! An ability like that basically meant that Jason could teleport to any place where his Rook was so long as he had the mana to take him there!
Jason closed his eyes and released a sigh as he cursed in his head! The first thing that came to his mind after realizing how useful the skill was, was how he would have been able to get to Gina quicker if he had this skill earlier! The ability to teleport meant that he wouldn't have been wasting all that time trying to convince the Enforcers to let him go and he wouldn't have had to reveal Ragnar to the public either!
'Fuck.'
Jason cursed internally once again before he shook his head and decided that it was pointless to dwell on things like that. Jason closed down the tab and he turned to glance at Fenrir, the wolf, who was sitting on its hind legs and looking at Jason curiously. It tilted its head to one side cutely when it felt Jason giving it an intense look and Jason's mouth split into a smile before he activated the technique!
[King's Substitute] has been activated
Doon!
Jason suddenly vanished from his position and Riyala released a cute scream when the large Moonlight Wolf appeared in front of her! Fenrir was surprised for only a second before it began to pant in excitement as he pounced on Riyala and began licking her face!
"Ah, wait! Wait! Don't lick me there! You smell so bad! Hahaha!"
Riyala began laughing as the licks became more intense and Jason watched them from the other side of the field with a smile. That was a perfect substitution. Jason barely felt any discomfort on his body at all when he was switching places with Fenrir, and if he had to describe it, then he would say it was the same feeling as driving your bike really fast on an open road! There's an intense rush of air, and then you're suddenly on the other side of the world! Jason had even stuck the landing without stumbling, so he knew he didn't have to worry about falling over every time he used the skill! It was perfect!
Jason looked at all the Phantoms that were gathered in front of him and he told all the Rook Ranks to walk forward. Alpha and the other four phantoms who were strong enough to be Rook Rank I's came forward and Jason hummed as he glanced at the tab above their heads.
——

[Subordinate Count: 0/10]
[Upgrade Points: 0/50]
[Upgrade Limit: Bishop Rank I]

——
The tabs were similar for all five of them and the only difference that Jason noticed between them was that they had different mana levels. A notification sounded echoed through Jason's system as a new tab opened.
[Will the user like to baptize the new Rooks with names? Yes/No?]
Jason frowned before he closed the notification with a thought. Jason didn't feel close enough to any of the phantoms for him to be giving them names. Yeah, they were loyal to him now, but he couldn't forgive them for what they had cost him. As far as he was concerned, they didn't deserve to be named. Jason quickly ordered all the other phantoms to move towards each of the Rooks and become their subordinates. There were forty-five Pawn Rank Phantoms and forty of them were assigned to four of the Rooks while the last Rook only managed to get five rather than ten. Jason gave that final Rook five Spidermonkeys to use as its subordinates and Jason got back a nod of gratitude from it.
All the phantoms were very obedient and they were willing to follow all of his orders without question, but they could feel that he was not happy with them and they all felt like they needed to prove their worth to Jason before he would accept them as part of his Legion. Even the other members of the Legion were giving them coy looks from the side because they could all feel the King's dislike for the Phantoms! It was still weird to Jason that these people used to be his enemies just a few minutes ago and they were now so docile, but he wasn't going to dwell on it for long. He already learned to adapt very quickly when it came to anything concerning magic.
