STRONGEST NECROMANCER SYSTEMC264: It's A Puppet

Chapter 264: It's A Puppet

"Alright, alright; get off her, you giant lizard."

Jason eventually came around and lifted Gina into his arms while carrying her away, and Gina wrapped her hands around his neck with a wide smile! She was still trying to stop her laughter from Ragnar's attack, and she gave Jason a playful grin when she finally calmed down. Gina had only been playing with Ragnar for a few minutes, but Gina could see a familiar glint in Jason's eyes!

'Is the big bad King jealous that I'm playing with someone else?'

Jason rolled his eyes at Gina's tone, and he answered in a deadpan voice.

'I have no idea what you're talking about. We need to be careful since you just woke up, so I'm just keeping an eye on you to make sure nothing went wrong.'

Gina couldn't stop herself from laughing once she heard Jason's response, and she leaned up and gave him a deep kiss before hugging him even tighter.

'I guess I don't have a choice then, I'd better stay right here in your arms until you're sure I'm okay. You'll protect me from anything, won't you, my king?'

Jason grinned in amusement, and Gina hugged him tighter before she buried her face into his shoulder and began to place small kisses along his neck. Ragnar let out a huff that almost sounded like a chuckle as he watched both of them, and Jason gave the bastard a nasty look and told him to shut up before he turned to send messages to the members of his Legion.

Jason commanded some of the free pawns that didn't have any Rook Rank Commanders to go and join Ragnar, Raya, and the Immortal Lich. But Jason realized that there was a problem after he saw that he had run out of pawns. Jason had more than seven hundred pawns, but he also had over sixty Rooks, so the number of pawns he had wouldn't be enough to fill out the spaces for all the Rooks. But that wasn't a bad thing since the only benefit the pawns received from being a Rook subordinate was the ability to use [Stonewall], as well as the boost in their defenses that came from the link.

All Jason had to do was make sure all his Rook Rank III subordinates had enough pawns, and he would leave some of the Rook Rank I's without pawns. Jason did this because the higher the rank of a Rook subordinate, the higher the defenses of the pawns that were under it. The Rook Rank I subordinates gave a hundred percent increase in defenses, but a Rook Rank III subordinate gave a three hundred percent increase in defenses! It was just the more sensible thing to do.

Once Jason was done with that, he saw that the Phantoms he sent to the Lich's cave were coming back with ten large journals that were black and dusty. They also had a few hundred gold coins in a bag, as well as thousands of magic crystals, but there were no artefacts. Jason asked Azrael why he didn't have any artefacts, and Azrael said that artefacts are useless to a researcher like him. Azrael's work focused on improving the body and creating a link between the mortal plane and the [River of the Afterlife]. Using an artefact in his research would only disrupt and slow down his progress.

Jason nodded in understanding as he put the crystals and coins in his Alternate Dimension for later, and he asked Azrael if this was everything he had used for his research. The Lich answered that it was.

'The rest of my knowledge is stored within my mind, my king. I made sure not to write down too much about my research because of how delicate it was. My goal was to find a way to reach the River of the Afterlife and obtain eternal power from it, but the closest I came to that goal was the weapon known as the [Death's Mirage] that could draw power from the River. If you desire it, then I would be more than happy to aid you in any study you wish to make into the Necrotic Arts.'

So the Lich had been studying Necrosis to obtain eternal power? Jason didn't know much about the study of Necrosis or how it worked, but he could tell that Azrael had made a lot of sacrifices for the sake of his studies. Azrael might have been a twisted and dark creature, but there was no denying the fact that he was a dedicated bastard.

'I'll need your help crafting the Rune to bond with the [Death's Mirage] later, and I also plan to learn more about the Runic Arts. Can you teach me that?'

Jason raised a brow towards Azrael as he asked this, and the Lich bowed its head in acceptance.

'It would be my honor to teach you everything I know, my King. I shall make you a force to be reckoned with by the time we are finished with our lessons.'

Jason nodded, and he told the Phantoms to take the journals into his Alternate Dimension for later. The journals had been created using magic, so the Phantoms didn't have any problem with taking them into the Alternate Dimension.

Once they were gone, Jason finally decided to test the Lich's abilities. Jason summoned Ragnar's original body from his Alternate Dimension, and the body of the dragon landed on the floor beside him. Ragnar turned to its previous body with a curious look and huffed in slight irritation. Gina tilted her head to one side as she looked at the large dead dragon and asked Jason where the hell he got that from.

Ragnar's original body was a lot smaller than the current Ragnar because of all the upgrades and battles Ragnar had gone through, so if you didn't know anything about Jason's abilities, you would never think they were the same dragon.

Jason told Gina how he got the dragon's body, and Gina made an 'oh' sound before she turned away and bit Jason's ear playfully. Just like most other people in Jason's life, Gina had also learned not to question most of the things Jason did. It was just better for her sanity!

Jason chuckled at Gina's reaction before he told Azrael to reanimate the dead dragon. The Lich put its bone fingers towards the dragon, and Jason felt a murky, dreadful mana creep over the air like thick grease. A strange Rune appeared on the floor under the dragon's body, and the Rune pulsed with a dark red light before the dragon's body started to move!

The dragon raised its wings and then planted its feet on the ground! Its body shook a few times like a puppet that was being raised by a string before it finally stood up in all its glory. Jason expected the dragon to spread its wings or roar loudly like Ragnar would normally do, but he was surprised when the dragon didn't do anything at all. It just stood there silently and stared into space with a distant gaze.

So this was what the System meant when it said that reanimated creatures wouldn't have the same abilities that his Legion did. Although Jason's Legion were reanimated souls, they were still capable of independent thinking, and they could do things on their own without Jason being there to hold their hand. But Jason could tell that if the reanimated dragon wasn't told exactly what to do, it would just continue standing still like a statue.

'It's a puppet.'

Gina's voice came through their mental link, and Jason nodded along. He told the Lich to move the dragon around, and Jason watched as the dragon suddenly flapped its wings and took off into the sky! The dragon flew around a few times before it opened its mouth and unleashed a wave of fire towards an empty patch of land in front of it! This continued for a few more seconds before Jason told the Lich to bring the dragon back down, and the Lich did as it was told.

Ragnar went close to the reanimated dragon and poked it with his nose before turning around and using his tail to swipe it across the head! The dragon didn't make any moves to retaliate, and Ragnar grew irritated with it as he moved towards Jason and lay down behind him with a huff. Jason could understand why Ragnar was irritated by the dragon.

STRONGEST NECROMANCER SYSTEMC265: From One Battle Into Another

Chapter 265: From One Battle Into Another

Dragons were fierce creatures, and Jason was already used to Ragnar's intense and fiery personality. So seeing such a dull dragon made him a little annoyed as well. But Jason didn't really mind since he knew that the dragon would still be useful in a fight. It was only on the same level as a Rook Rank II, and he would never be able to increase its power level, but that didn't mean it wasn't useful. In a fight to the death, one Rook Rank II was more than enough to tip most scales in his favour! Jason glanced at the large wound in the dragon's chest. That was the wound Fenrir caused that finally killed the dragon, and Jason could only wonder how it was still moving around with a hole in its chest.

Azrael answered Jason's question easily:

'Most reanimated creatures are capable of moving even with grievous injuries, my king. So long as they still possess their brain and most of their body parts, then I can take control of their body and move it however I wish. But if the creature suffers another serious wound after it is reanimated, then I will lose my control over it.'

Jason nodded. So that was why the Lich's minions were so hard to take down in their last fight. Jason always had to destroy most of their body before they would finally die. If he just injured or cut them, then those bastards would keep coming back! Jason decided that he was going to make the Lich reanimate all of the minions that he had fought previously! Jason had fought against fifty Giant Paladins, dozens of Giant Worms, hundreds of flying undead creatures, and close to a thousand undead minions, and there were still many of them that Jason could use in a fight.

Jason would take all these monsters and keep them in his Alternate Dimension, and he would use them as fodder whenever he was in a battle against an army of magical beasts or enemy mages. This way, Jason wouldn't have to worry about his Legion subordinates dying too quickly, and he could also preserve mana. Jason told the Lich to quickly go and do as it was told, and the Lich bowed before getting on the back of the reanimated dragon and taking off towards the battlefield.

Bite!

"Ow, you fucking animal."

Jason turned to Gina with a shocked look when she suddenly bit his neck with a little too much force. Gina blushed while giving Jason a proud grin, and Jason narrowed his eyes at her! Gina was about to apologise, but her eyes widened when Jason suddenly flung her over his shoulder and carried her like a sack of rice!

"Jason! What are you doing!?"

Gina cried out in shock as Jason held her legs tightly! She hit her hands against Jason's back to try and make him let go, but she felt her entire body shake when Jason's hand came down on her ass hard!

Slap!

"Eeek!! Jason!"

Gina felt a heavy blush rising on her cheek as a stinging sensation spread across her ass! She hit Jason's back again and told him to let her down! Ragnar tilted its head to one side as it watched the two of them curiously, and Gina put her hands over her face in shame when she saw the looks she was getting from the monsters in Jason's Legion! This was so embarrassing!

Jason chuckled and took mercy on her as he brought her down, and Gina punched Jason's arm in anger before turning to storm away from him!

"Don't wander too far, babe. We aren't on Earth right now, so it might be dangerous."

"Leave me alone!"

Gina shouted back at Jason with a heavy blush on her face, and Jason chuckled as he watched her go. Jason would go get her in a few minutes when she calmed down, so he just let her explore for now.

'Help me. Please.'

Jason's brow suddenly furrowed when he heard a voice echo through his mind! Jason put his hand to his forehead while turning around to see if there was anyone there, but he didn't see anything! Jason remembered this voice—it was the same voice that had spoken to him when he was fighting against the Phantom!

'Who the fuck is this?'

Jason asked the system to try and track the source of the voice in his head, but the system sent back the same response as before:

[The system did not detect any anomaly in the user's vicinity, and the message sent to the user did not possess any trace of aggressiveness or animosity. The system will attempt to trace the message, but it will likely not bring forth any results.]

'Just try, dammit.'

[Very well.]

The system went silent as it did its search, and Jason left it to work on that while he turned to look back at Gina. Gina had gone up to Raya, and the Queen Ant brought her head down and allowed Gina to trace her hand across its mandibles. One of the large Ironbladed Falcons came up from behind Gina and used its beak to poke her on the ass and Gina let out a scream as she accidentally activated her Gift and shot a wind arrow at the bird!

Slam!

Caw!

The falcon cried out as the wind arrow threw it back to the ground, and Jason laughed as Gina began to fret over the bird while apologising profusely. Gina had always been the kind of person to react first and ask questions later, so it was a bad idea for anyone to try to scare her like that!

Jason let out a sigh as he decided not to allow the strange message to bother him for now. He didn't understand exactly what the messenger wanted him to do for them, but he couldn't do anything until the system found more information about what was happening. Jason turned to the side when he got a message from the Lich saying he was almost done with the reanimation, and Jason petted Ragnar happily before he started to walk over to where Gina was still trying to get the falcon to forgive her.

This was everything that Jason had worked hard for, and he couldn't help but feel completely fulfilled.

'My King! There is a problem!'

Jason stopped in his tracks when a message suddenly reached him from Earth. Jason had put Alpha and a few other subordinates in charge of guarding Riyala and the others at his place, and Jason's eyes narrowed as the rest of Alpha's message came through! Some people broke into his house and took Riyala!

Jason felt an intense surge of anger rising from his heart once he heard this, and he told Alpha to follow them and take Riyala into the shadow the first chance she got. Alpha responded that she understood, and Jason quickly sent a message to all his subordinates that it was time for them to leave. All the subordinates fell into the Alternate Dimension, and Gina turned to Jason to ask if everything was alright while coming over quickly. Jason leaned down to kiss Gina softly once she was close enough, pulled back a few seconds later and told Gina that they had to get back to Earth since Riyala was in trouble.

"New Jersey is being attacked by soldiers from Radaga, and Gaia is trying to use her as a bargaining chip to make them leave."

Gina's eyes widened in shock.

"How are we going to get back before they send her away? You said we're not on Earth, right?"

"I have a skill for that too. But I'll need you to go into another Dimension for now."

Gina nodded and leaned up to give Jason a peck before frowning seriously.

"Call me out once we get back, okay?"

"Sure thing, babe."

Jason opened the Alternate Dimension and allowed Gina to fall inside before he turned his attention towards Azrael and asked if it was done reanimating the dead minions. The Lich said it was almost done, and Jason told it to hurry up while he used the [Eye of the King] to keep an eye on what was happening on Earth.

STRONGEST NECROMANCER SYSTEMC266: We're All Going To Die!

Chapter 266: We're All Going To Die!

[Earth]

[Outside the City of New Jersey]

Inside a helicopter a few miles away from New Jersey, Riyala sat with her head bowed as they traveled quickly over the city. There was a look of sadness on Riyala's face as she wondered just how much damage had been done to this world already. She was the reason why the dragon riders were causing so much destruction, and she knew that nothing she could say or do would be able to make up for what she had caused. The only thing she could do now was turn herself in and hope that the Sovereign would leave this world alone. Juliet was sitting beside Riyala, and the agent who had come to take her from Jason's house was sitting opposite them with her hands folded across her chest.

Ring~!

The agent's phone suddenly rang, and she told her subordinate beside her to keep an eye on the two as she picked up the phone once she saw the caller ID.

"Sir."

The agent answered respectfully, and on the other side of the phone, Cersai spoke up with narrowed eyes.

[Did you find her?]

Cersai was the one who initiated this plan to retrieve Riyala and return her to the dragon riders. The moment Cersai heard from one of his spies in the SMD that Jason was not on Earth, he knew this might be the perfect moment to get rid of the interworld traveler once and for all. That was why he was trying to give Riyala back to them before things got out of hand.

Fredrica answered,

"Yes, sir, I found her. We're en route to the city."

On the other side of the phone, Cersai nodded and took out another phone, sending a message to the defense department. Cersai told them to hold off on Plan B, and the defense department responded that they understood. If Fredrica hadn't found Riyala, then Cersai was prepared to unleash a few of their mana-based weapons to try and eliminate the dragon riders as well as every other superhuman in New Jersey. But since she had found her, he would try diplomacy first. If that didn't work, then he would use the weapons.

[Try to handle this as quickly as possible, Fredrica. There's a lot riding on your success.]

Fredrica nodded along. She already knew that Cersai was planning to erase New Jersey from the map if things got out of hand, and the only reason Cersai hadn't sent out the weapons yet was because of this plan. But Fredrica didn't have any problems with the plans since she knew this was what Gaia was all about. Their mission was to protect humanity at all costs—even if they had to kill a few humans in the process.

"I won't let you down, sir."

Cersai clicked off the phone once she said this, and Fredrica folded her hands once again as the pilot swerved the helicopter to the side to reach the city faster. Below the helicopter, Alpha and a few other Phantoms moved through the shadows while following after it.

....

The scene inside New Jersey was something you would only expect to see in movies and comics. The city was a wasteland of broken buildings and roaring flames. Hundreds of buildings had fallen over and lay scattered across the streets, with explosions echoing from various parts of the city! Most of the residents had evacuated a long time ago, so they were spared from the intense destruction, but there was no doubt that the damage done to the city would leave a lasting scar for a very long time. Even from outside the city, many of the citizens could still see the large Yellow Gate floating just over the buildings! It loomed over them with the intensity of a rogue god, continuing to release intense winds over the city that served as a reminder that there was always a chance more monsters could come through. The superhumans on the ground were not faring any better than the rest of the city at all!

"Emitters, line up for an attack! Aim! Fire!"

TWOOM!

Massive balls of fire and earth flew across the city from a group of emitters standing on top of a tall building! The fire flew toward a dragon flying high in the sky, and the superhumans watched with bated breath as the dragon opened its mouth and unleashed a massive attack back at them!

ROARRRR!

The dragon's breath flew like a rocket through the air! It eradicated the superhumans' attack, and another group immediately came forward, forming a large shield in front of them! The dragon's breath slammed into the shield, and the superhumans grunted as some of them fell to their knees! There were more than twenty superhumans forming that shield, and they were all somewhere between A and C Rank, but the dragon's breath was still managing to push them back!

One of the superhumans on the building was the leader of the Light Bringers who had been with Madam Rose in the Orange Gate earlier. He had come here straight after coming out of the Orange Gate because the government had asked for help from all the top guilds! He thought that since he wasn't able to get any crystals from the Orange Gate, then he would be able to get something from this Yellow Gate. There were many of them going inside the Gate together, so he was sure there wouldn't be any problems.

'I was a fucking fool!'

The leader of the Light Bringers screamed at himself as he put his hand forward and began to provide support for all the superhumans forming the shield! The superhumans felt a massive boost of energy filling their bodies, and they were able to push back against the dragon's breath. The leader of the Light Bringers bit the inside of his cheek as sweat dripped down his face. They had been fighting against this one dragon for the better part of ten minutes now, and they had already lost more than ten people! At this rate, they were all going to die!

ROARRRRR!

Another loud roar echoed from beside the superhumans, and the leader of the Light Bringers turned to the side in shock to see another large dragon coming toward them! The leader immediately turned as he saw the dragon open its mouth, and before it could even release its breath, he was already running!

TWOOOM!!

The dragon's breath flew toward the building in all its terrifying glory, and the entire structure erupted in flames from the attack! The superhumans were thrown to their backs as the entire building began to come down like the walls of Jericho, and the leader of the Light Bringers let out a loud curse as he jumped off the fifty-story building and crashed through the window of another skyscraper beside it! This was not what he signed up for! This wasn't even a fight anymore—they were all going to die!

ROARRRR!!!

The dragon let out another loud roar, and the leader of the Light Bringers felt fear fill his heart when he saw that it was about to release a blast of fire toward the building he was in. But before it could release the flames, a figure appeared from the side while carrying a giant skyscraper in its hands! The figure was wearing the uniform of the Enforcers, and he had a deep frown on his face as he brought the building down in one swing!

BOOM!

STRONGEST NECROMANCER SYSTEMC267: Combustion

Chapter 267: Combustion

BOOM!

The building slammed into the dragon, and it flew back from the force and slammed into the ground! The Enforcer rocketed to the ground and slammed into the street before he slowly rose to his feet while looking towards where the dragon had fallen. It was buried under the building he threw at it, but he could already see the building moving, and he was sure that it would be coming out immediately!

The Enforcer was the same man who had been in Riverdale a few hours ago to take care of the incident at Jason's house—Luthor, the Enforcer of Force.

Luthor hadn't planned to come here today because he believed that there were other Enforcers in the region who could handle the Gate, but when he heard that the Yellow Gate had burst prematurely and released dragons, he immediately knew that he had to come here and see what was really going on. The incident at Jason's house left Luthor with a lot of questions about what was really happening in this world, and now that he was seeing even more strange occurrences, he was going to get his answers one way or another.

Luthor watched with narrowed eyes as the large building began to shake and rumble before it suddenly burst upwards to reveal the dragon! The dragon spread its wings and roared into the sky, and Luthor began to gather his mana quickly.

Another figure appeared beside the dragon, and Luthor's attention shifted to focus on the man with scales on his cheeks and neck. Luthor analyzed the man's clothing and the way he carried himself, and he could immediately tell that this man was not a civilian. He was a soldier who had trained for years in the art of killing. The strange interworld traveler gave Luthor a glare, and Luthor felt a strange sensation travel through him when he looked into the man's red, lizard-like eyes. This man was definitely not human.

"You are a warrior from this planet, so I will only ask this once. Bring me to your leader."

The dragon rider suddenly spoke to Luthor with a frown, but Luthor didn't understand a single word that the man was saying. Luthor heard a beep echo from the communication device in his ear, and a voice came through from the other side of the city.

[Commander, I wanted to report the state of affairs on the western side of the city! The dragons have taken out an estimated fifty percent of the city, but they are currently being kept busy by Commander Agiel and other high-ranking Superhumans!]

Luthor's eyes widened, and he felt a sense of relief filling him when he heard that Agiel was on the other side of the city. Luthor had been thinking of how he was going to get out of the situation here and go help the Lieutenants that were fighting in the western area, but now that Agiel was there, he didn't have to rush. He could fully focus on eradicating this bastard.

"Leave the area to Agiel and give her space to work. Focus on evacuating any civilians or injured superhumans out of the city. And Ralph—tell the team that if any one of them dies, I'll kill the rest of you fools myself."

Ralph swallowed in fear from the other side of the call before he answered that he understood in a shaky voice and clicked off the connection. Luthor turned back to look at the dragon, but he was shocked when he saw the dragon rider standing right in front of him with his sword flying towards Luthor's neck!

'He's fast!'

Luthor immediately put his hand forward and released a significant amount of mana, and the moment his mana came in contact with the air, a massive explosion erupted around him!

BOOM!

The dragon rider jumped back to avoid being hit by the blast, and Luthor saw a competitive smile appear on the dragon rider's face as his sword quickly began to glow white before it erupted into flames! Luthor could literally feel the heat from a hundred meters away, so he knew that the fire must be insanely hot. The dragon let out a plume of smoke from behind the man as it began getting ready to join the fight, but the rider told the dragon not to interfere since this was his fight. Luthor did not understand what the rider said, and he only saw the dragon huff before it took off into the sky. Luthor immediately put his hands behind him and released his mana.

BOOM!

Luthor's mana erupted into flames and lifted him off the ground like a rocket as he chased after the dragon! The dragon was the more dangerous of the two, so Luthor needed to make sure he dealt with it first. The dragon roared at Luthor in anger once it saw him getting close, but Luthor didn't waste any time as he spun through the air and slashed his feet towards the dragon's wing! The air erupted in yellow flames that flew straight for the dragon, but the dragon rider suddenly appeared between them and cancelled out Luthor's attack with his sword. The dragon rider shouted something to the dragon again, and the dragon seemed to give Luthor a look of irritation before it took off once again! Luthor quickly tried to send another attack to make sure the dragon stayed with him, but the dragon rider appeared once more with his sword drawn back!

The dragon rider brought his sword down on Luthor, but Luthor dodged around the blade and grabbed the man's hand! The man tried to power his way out of Luthor's grip, but he was shocked when he realized that Luthor was stronger than him! Luthor didn't even budge as he grabbed the dragon rider's shirt and spun him around before unleashing his mana to create a point-blank explosion!

BOOM!

The force of the blast immediately rocketed the dragon rider in the direction of his dragon, and Luthor put his hands behind him and unleashed another explosion before shooting after the man with narrowed eyes. Luthor's Gift was considered to be one of the most dangerous Gifts in the Superhuman Enforcers because of how uncontrollable it was. Just like Agiel, who had gone through various experiments and tests with her Gift as scientists tried to understand it, Luthor had also been put through the same processes. But instead of trying to find the limits of his Gift, the scientists were trying to figure out how to prevent Luthor from activating it.

Luthor's Gift was called Combustion, and just like the name suggested, he was capable of creating explosions that could topple buildings and eradicate monsters easily! But the problem with Luthor's Gift was the fact that he was incapable of controlling his combustions. Luthor's Gift activated whenever his mana came in contact with air. His mana was a very potent form of fuel that remained dormant when it was inside his body, but the moment Luthor released even an atom of that mana into the atmosphere, it reacted with oxygen at an aggressive rate—and this led to Combustion!

When Luthor first gained his abilities, he caused millions of dollars in property damage due to unconsciously releasing mana all the time. Anytime Luthor felt any form of intense emotion and released his mana, everything around him was put in danger! This led to years of isolated training for Luthor, where he learned how to control his mana even in the most stressful situations. Now, Luthor was one of the best when it came to controlling mana output, and there wasn't a single person in the Enforcers who knew how to use their mana better than him!

STRONGEST NECROMANCER SYSTEMC268: Time Of My Life!

Chapter 268: Time Of My Life!

Luthor knew that his combustions were strong enough to kill anyone below a high-level A Rank, so he was shocked when he saw that the dragon rider had only suffered a few burns from his attack! Luthor released another series of explosions behind him to make himself go faster, and he put his hands out and unleashed his mana once he was close enough to the dragon rider and his dragon!

KA-BOOM!

Another massive explosion lit up the sky, and Luthor dodged out of the way as the dragon roared in agitation and swung its tail at him! Luthor created more explosions and went into a perfect rotation in the air as the dragon rider suddenly tried to take a swing at him and he grabbed the dragon rider's arm and was about to break it in half, but he stopped when he felt heat on his back! Fuck! Luthor immediately put his hands up and released a massive explosion that sent him rocketing downwards just before the dragon released a massive torrent of fire that surged across where he had just been!

ROARRR!

The flames washed over the body of the dragon rider, and Luthor was shocked when the dragon rider flew out from the flames without any serious injuries! What the hell? Luthor knew that the dragon's fire would have been enough to take out a fucking S Rank! But from the confrontation they'd had, Luthor was sure that the dragonborn was nowhere near S Rank! He was barely a high-level A Rank! So how in the world was he able to tank such a high-level attack like it was nothing!? Luthor narrowed his eyes as his mind quickly ran through all the possibilities, and at the end he realised that there was only one answer that made sense!

'Fire resistance. He's related to the dragon, so he can withstand high temperatures. I'm a bad matchup for him.'

Luthor cursed in his head as he realized that his flames wouldn't be hot enough to get through the dragon rider's skin! If Luthor wanted to win this, then he would have to change his tactics! Luthor immediately rubbed his finger over a ring on his left hand, and two long swords with red hilts and black blades appeared from inside the ring! The ring was an S Rank spatial ring worth millions of dollars that could store any form of magical artifacts, and the swords were special A Rank artifacts that Luthor had bought for a few hundred thousand dollars a few years ago. Not only were the swords connected magically in a way that allowed him to fight without worrying about losing either of them, but they also gave Luthor a 100% boost to all his fire-based attacks! Luthor knew that he wouldn't be able to get through the fire resistance of the dragon rider or the dragon with his usual abilities, but at least with the swords, he might be able to!

The dragon rider's face suddenly hardened the moment he saw Luthor produce the swords! He told the dragon to attack immediately, and Luthor swore as the dragon reared its head back and unleashed a blast of fire! Luthor put his hand to the right and created a combustion that threw him out of the way, and he poured his mana into the sword before slashing across the air to create a blade of fire that shot straight for them! The dragon rider used his own sword to cut Luthor's flames and angled his body towards Luthor before shooting forward to continue their battle!

Luthor narrowed his eyes and prepared his mana for a new attack. This was going to be a long battle, and Luthor just hoped that Agiel was faring better than he was.

...

On the other side of the city, Agiel was having the time of her life!

BOOM!

A massive dragon tail slammed into Agiel like a battering ram and sent her flying back like a fucking rocket! Agiel slammed through more than ten buildings before she twisted around and put her hand out to create a shockwave that stopped her in her tracks! Agiel's feet dug into the ground as she got into a runner's stance and her entire body tensed before she shot forward, broke through the building wall and out into the open air! The sky was filled with smoke from burning buildings all around the city! The streets were packed with debris, and the screams of desperate superhumans echoed through the city as far as you could hear! There were people running away to avoid being seen by the dragons, and many of the SMD agents around were evacuating the injured superhumans in the city!

ROARRR!

But Agiel didn't care about any of that! Agiel's face brightened into a wide, maniacal smile as her enemy arrived in front of her again! The giant dragon broke through a building without any effort and released a roar toward her! On the back of the dragon, the dragon rider had a massive frown on his face as he shouted for the dragon to attack! Agiel had only arrived a few minutes ago, and she was struggling to keep up with the intense attacks from the dragon and its rider, but Agiel couldn't deny that this was the most fun she had had in a long time. For the first time ever, Agiel was fighting against an opponent that was not only stronger than her but also had the desire to end her life! If this wasn't happiness, then Agiel didn't know what was! The dragon reared its head back and unleashed a wave of fire, and Agiel put her hand forward and unleashed her Gift!

TWOOM!

A wave of super-compressed air suddenly formed in front of Agiel! The air split the dragon's flames right down the middle and forced it to spread to either side of her! Agiel created a platform under her feet and raced straight for the dragon, but the dragon turned sharply and used its tail to slap her out of the air again! Agiel was thrown to the ground at an impossible speed, but she managed to twist her body around and release another wave behind her to stop herself! A second wave carried her up towards the dragon, but the dragon flapped its wings to try and blow Agiel away! Agiel's eyes narrowed as she quickly used her Gift to try and counter the attack, and she cursed when the force sent her flying into a building at the side! Agiel knew that she was not as strong as that dragon.

Even though Agiel was an S Rank, there was no way she would be able to defeat that dragon the way she was now. That was why Agiel was trying to do something that most people thought was impossible—she was trying to match the frequency of fire! Agiel already knew she could match the frequency of air, water, and earth. It helped her destroy most attacks that were thrown at her without any effort at all! But the one element she hadn't been able to match yet was fire! Fire was so volatile and moved in a way that made it look alive, so it was hard for Agiel to pin down any one frequency for it. But if Agiel wanted to have any chance of winning this fight, then she would need to do it! It was the only way she could get past that bastard's flaming breath! So even though Agiel looked like she was losing, she was learning more from this one fight than she had learned in all the other fights she had ever been in!

STRONGEST NECROMANCER SYSTEMC269: Flaming Frequency

Chapter 269: Flaming Frequency

Agiel crashed through the large window on he side of the building, and she quickly got to her feet and jumped up to slam into the roof of the house!

BOOM!

Agiel was able to tear the entire top of the building off from its foundation, and she roared as she spun around and threw the building at the dragon! Agiel blasted off after the building, and she quickly spun to the side when the dragon used its fire breath to destroy the entire structure! Agiel leapt from the dragon's blind spot, and her mouth split into a wicked grin once again as she drew her fist back right beside the dragon's face.

"Grit your fucking teeth!"

SLAM!

Agiel slammed her fist into the dragon's face with all her strength, and she was rewarded with a pained grunt as the dragon's head snapped back! The dragon flapped its wings to try and restabilize itself, and the dragon rider felt fury grow in his heart once he saw what happened to his dragon! Agiel's grin only widened when she saw how much damage she had done, but Agiel wasn't able to bask in her victory at all as she saw the dragon suddenly turn its eyes toward her again! There was red-hot fury burning in those eyes as the dragon roared in agitation, and Agiel cursed as she quickly tucked her body into a ball and used her mana to protect herself as a blast of fire slammed into her!

BOOOMMM!!!

Agiel immediately felt her mana drop significantly, and she grit her teeth as she felt the intense heat threatening to tear through her defenses! Even though Agiel had extraordinary control over her mana and possessed one of the strongest defenses in the Enforcers, it still felt like she was standing right under the exhaust of a freaking rocket! She tightened her hands into fists as she slowly forced her mind to relax and ignored the intense pain that was coursing through her!

The heat was unbearable, and Agiel could already feel her skin and clothes burning from the intense flames—but this was the best chance she would get! If she wanted to learn how to match the frequency of fire, then there was no better time than when she was surrounded by the flames of a literal dragon!

Agiel's ability allowed her to perform destructive interference with any non-living entity she came into contact with. But before she could carry out the destructive interference, Agiel first needed to learn the frequency of an object and match it perfectly with her own mana! This was only possible because Agiel's body had evolved to read vibrations far more easily than any other organism in the world! Even though no one else could feel the vibrations in an object, Agiel's body could tell her exactly how that object was vibrating—it was almost like the object was singing to her, and her body was matching every fucking pitch!

But for fire, Agiel needed to change her approach slightly. Fire was the only element that acted like it had a life of its own, and that was why it was so difficult for her to match its frequency with her body!

Agiel slowly began to let go of everything she had ever learned about how her abilities worked. Agiel had been trying to do the same thing all this while, and it hadn't worked, so she didn't care about that anymore! Instead, Agiel simply allowed her body to feel the flames around her. The vibration of the air as the fire surrounded her was like music to her ears! The frequency of the heat passing through her body was like a symphony!

Agiel's body slowly began to familiarize itself with the way the flames worked their way around and inside her, and her brow furrowed when she suddenly realized something about the flames—she had been thinking about it wrong all this time! The fire wasn't acting like it was alive at all—it was the air that was making the fire act like it was alive! Agiel had been trying to match the frequency of one element all this time, and that was why she had been failing!

If she wanted to get this right, she needed to match the frequency of both fire and air and sync them perfectly! Agiel's eyes widened in realization, and her mouth split into a mad grin.

'I got it!'

SLAM!

A tail suddenly slammed across Agiel's body, and she was sent flying to the ground like a rocket! She crashed into the street and tore through the concrete like it was paper for more than five hundred meters before finally stopping! Smoke rose from Agiel's burnt and battered body. Her uniform had been completely scorched by the fire, and she only had on a pair of shorts and a sports bra to keep her modesty.

Her skin was red and sore in various places, and her white hair was scattered and releasing a concerning amount of smoke. There were blisters running down her arm and neck, and a massive burn mark was covering her entire right arm. But even with all this, Agiel's smile only grew wider! She slowly pulled herself to her feet and stood within the crater she had created. She grabbed the remnants of her uniform and tore them off since they were only going to slow her down, and she stood in only her shorts and sports bra with her lean, toned figure exposed.

ROARRR!

The dragon appeared once more with a loud roar, and Agiel's smile only widened as she began to gather her mana around her! The dragon turned its head down and unleashed another wave of fire to finally get rid of her, but Agiel put both hands up and activated her Gift!

TWOOM!

A wave of mana shot out from Agiel's hands at the exact same moment the fire reached her. She watched as the fire slammed into her vibrating mana with unbelievable force—and in the next moment, the fire vanished from existence!

Agiel felt pure excitement bubble up from deep inside her when she saw this happen, and she continued to unleash her mana to counter the flames! She did it! She freaking did it! The fire from the dragon began to die down, and Agiel couldn't stop herself from laughing when she saw the look of shock on the faces of both the dragon and its rider! It was obvious they hadn't expected her to counter the flames!

Agiel quickly checked her mana level to see just how much she had left. As an S Rank who depended on mana to use her Gift properly, she usually started any fight with about ten thousand units of mana. But after using so much to defend against the dragon's flames and launch her own attacks, she was down to only about five thousand units!

Her mana was slowly recovering, but at this rate, she would run out before she could kill these bastards!

'Matching the frequency of both fire and air took more out of me than I thought. I'll have to focus more on attacking with the rest of the mana I have. But now that they know I can counter the flames, it'll be harder for them to attack recklessly. I need to take advantage of this chance!'

Agiel immediately charged forward while activating her Gift, and a wave of super-compressed air shot her up toward the dragon! The dragon rider drew his sword with a heavy glare on his face, and the dragon released a loud roar as they prepared for another confrontation!

STRONGEST NECROMANCER SYSTEMC270: The Black Dome

Chapter 270: The Black Dome

The rest of the superhumans in the city were not faring as well as the two S-Rank Enforcers! Liam was inside a high-rise building a few miles away from the battles between the Agiel and the dragon, and he was crouching behind a sturdy desk as he peeked out the glass wall behind him at the burning city! There were various superhumans lying with injuries around him, and the healers in the group were trying their best to close up any serious injuries that they couldn't leave for later. Things had not been going the way Liam thought they would at all! Liam's plan today was for him to finish the raid on the BloodRaven Guild and then go straight back home to sleep for the next week, but all that was thrown to hell the moment Jason told him about the Yellow Gate! But did Liam complain about the sudden Gate!? No! He fucking didn't! In fact, Liam immediately took a flight and came to New Jersey because he knew that the city was more important than his rest!

Liam knew that this would be a difficult day, but he thought it would be just like any other regular Gate raid, where they would send in strong superhumans to kill the monsters and close the Gate! But of course, things couldn't be normal! Nothing was normal in this fucking world anymore!

ROARRR!

A loud roar echoed through the city, and Liam put his hand over his head as he felt an explosion sending tremors across the ground! The explosion shook the building down to it's foundation and Liam waited until it died down before he looked out from the glass wall, and he saw the silhouette of a giant dragon flying past the building quickly! Liam cursed as he felt fear fill his heart!

'Where the fuck are you, Jason!? We're all going to die here!'

Liam grit his teeth in anger at his own weakness! He was currently using every last drop of mana he had to support the healers who were helping the injured superhumans, but Liam knew that he wasn't actually doing much! A single dragon attack on this building would end all of them before they could even think of moving! Liam grabbed his phone to begin making a call to his brother, but an SMD agent suddenly crawled close to him and spoke with a look of urgency on her face!

"Sir! We just got off the phone with another Enforcer! They sent more reinforcements, but they couldn't get into the city!"

Liam turned to her sharply and snapped at her in anger!

"WHAT!?"

The woman flinched when she heard the anger in his voice, but she understood that he was just tense, so she tried her best to calm down and explain properly!

"They said there was some sort of forcefield blocking them from entering! I don't know what exactly they were talking about, but it might have been the magic beasts that did it! Even the helicopters can't fly in!"

Liam felt a loud curse rising from deep in his heart when he heard this, but he suddenly heard another loud roar from outside, and he ducked as the entire building shook from another explosion!

Liam wondered what the Enforcers meant by they couldn't come in! If they don't get more S-Ranks here, then they are all going to die! There were five dragons that came out from the Yellow Gate earlier, and Liam knew that two of them were being kept busy by Luthor and Agiel. The third and fourth dragons were being kept busy by Keith and some of the other Enforcers and SMD agents who were strong enough to handle themselves, but the last dragon didn't have anyone to hold it back, so it was currently flying around freely and destroying everything in its path! This wasn't even a battle anymore! It was a one-sided massacre!

"Give me that fucking phone!"

Liam took the phone from the SMD agent, and he immediately put a call through to the Enforcers who were outside the city. The Enforcer picked up on the second ring, and Liam shouted.

"What the fuck is the problem!?"

The Enforcer on the other side of the phone was standing on top of a tall skyscraper and glaring at a group of people that were standing a few buildings away from him. There was a single woman holding a magic staff with her hand raised over the city, and five men were standing around her and protecting her from anyone who came close. That woman was doing something to the city that prevented anyone from seeing what was happening in there and also blocked them from getting inside. The Enforcer had tried speaking to the five men, but none of them would say anything to him! He would have fought them, but he got a call from his superior, and the superior told him that he should allow the men and woman to do whatever they wanted!

The shield covering the city was some sort of large black dome. They already tried to enter the dome, but they just ended up reappearing on the other side of the dome like they had teleported, so it was obvious that their hands were tied! The Enforcer spoke to Liam in an annoyed tone!

[We can't get in, sir.]

"What do you mean you can't get in!? People are dying here!"

[I'm sorry, sir, but there are some people blocking off the city here. They used a Gift to prevent us from entering, so there's nothing we can do.]

Liam's brow furrowed once he heard that, and he immediately asked who the fuck was blocking the city. The Enforcer's eyes narrowed, and he spoke with some skepticism in his tone.

[I don't know who exactly they are, sir. But my superior only gave me a single name: Gaia.]

Liam immediately became just as confused as the man! That name meant nothing to him, and none of the organisations he knew had a name like that!? But they had to be a high-level organisation for them to be able to quarantine a city like this, and Liam didn't need to be a genius to know exactly what was happening! The government was blocking off the city to make sure the damage didn't spread to any other part of the country. They were leaving them here to die!

"Those fucking bastards!"

BOOM!!

Another explosion went off outside the building, and Liam had to duck once more as the entire building shook from the force! Liam turned around again to make sure that the dragon wasn't coming towards their building, and he handed the phone back to the SMD agent and told her to call the higher-ups. If they could get a message to the Chief Commander of the Enforcers, then they might be able to get the Enforcers inside! The woman nodded, and she went to make the calls, and Liam immediately grabbed his phone and put a call through to his brother. The phone rang for a few seconds before Keith picked up and spoke in a low voice.

"Liam, this really isn't a good time."

On the other side of the phone, Keith was hiding behind a large wall inside a destroyed building with close to twenty other superhumans around him! The screams of retreating superhumans could be heard all around them, and Keith tried his best to catch his breath before he would have to get back into the fight! Keith turned to the side slightly to look behind him, and he saw a large silhouette coming towards them from the distance! The dragon and its rider were currently looking for them, but they were being kept hidden by the Gift of one of the superhumans around there! There was another group of superhumans hiding about a mile away from Keith, and Keith cursed when he saw the dragon turn in their direction once it saw them!

"I have to go, Liam!"

Keith cut the phone as he dashed out from behind the pillar and gathered all the sand around him! The dragon opened its mouth and prepared to unleash its flames on the group of superhumans, but Keith formed his sand into a long polearm, and he threw it straight towards the dragon's eyes with a shout!

BOOM!

STRONGEST NECROMANCER SYSTEMC271: Let's Fucking Do This!

Chapter 271: Let's Fucking Do This!

The dragon opened its mouth and prepared to unleash its flames, but Keith formed his sand into a long polearm and threw it straight towards the dragon's eyes! The polearm flew straight for the dragon, but just before it could hit, the dragon turned to the side and avoided the attack easily! The dragon turned its attention to Keith, and Keith noticed that the superhumans he had just saved were successfully running away! Keith felt glad that he was able to save their lives, but now he had a new problem to deal with!

ROARRR!!

The dragon roared with intensity, and Keith turned and ran! Keith gathered sand from around him and used it to launch himself up and over a large building that had fallen on its side! The building was angled upwards like a ramp, and Keith landed on the side and began to run along the body as the giant dragon followed behind him!

[Sir, we're going to distract it for you to get away!]

A voice suddenly echoed from Keith's comms, and Keith recognized it as one of the other Lieutenants who had been hiding with him, but Keith immediately shut down the man's idea!

"No! RUN NOW! ALL OF YOU RUN!!"

Keith wasn't going to allow his effort to go to waste! He knew that if they tried to distract the dragon for him to escape, then the dragon would just turn its attention to them instead! So Keith was more than willing to take all the heat from the dragon to give them a chance to get away! A loud roar rang out from behind Keith, and Keith felt all his survival instincts come to life at the same time and screaming at him to dodge!

Keith slammed his foot into the ground and used that as momentum to jump to the side and began falling off the huge building, and no more than a second later, a wave of superhot flames slammed into the spot where Keith had just been! Keith could literally feel the heat from the fire scorching his skin even though he was already far away from it, so Keith knew without a doubt that he would've died if that hit him! Keith stumbled on the ground with a grunt as he landed harshly, but he didn't waste a second as he ran under the building that he had just fallen off and hid in the shadows! The large dragon released another roar as it looked around for Keith, and Keith tried his best to calm his heart rate as he pressed his back against a large slab!

The ground rumbled as the dragon landed just two hundred meters away from Keith, and Keith took in a breath and held it in as he saw the dragon looking around with furious eyes! Keith didn't move, blink, or even fucking breathe! He practically melted into the rock behind him and became one with it! The heat from the dragon's body was still reaching Keith even from this distance, and Keith felt his heart rate spike when the dragon suddenly moved close to him and sniffed along the ground like a hound smelling blood. Keith prayed to every god out there that the dragon's sense of smell was bad! There was no way he would survive if it attacked him in here!

BOOM!

And it was as though there really was a higher being looking out for Keith at that moment, because just as the dragon was about to sniff him out, a loud explosion echoed through the air from high above! A voice screamed out a laugh at the top of her lungs, and Keith was able to immediately recognize who it was!

'Commander Agiel!'

BOOM!

Another explosion rang out from above before a body suddenly rocketed through the air, slammed into the ground, and dug a large crater in the concrete as it slid back! The dragon that had been searching for Keith suddenly turned its attention to the crater, and Keith watched as Commander Agiel slowly began to drag herself out from the ground! She looked like she had gone through hell itself! Her clothes were already gone, so she was only wearing a pair of tight shorts and a sports bra. There were large burns around her body that had turned red and were letting out a lot of blood! Her white hair was black and smoking in various places, and one of her hands had a nasty cut along it that looked like it was made by a sword, but for some reason, Commander Agiel was still smiling!

Commander Agiel stood at the edge of the crater, and she let out a long sigh as she watched a second dragon appear from her left side. The dragon that had been chasing her was currently clinging to the side of a tall skyscraper, and it looked down at her and released a loud roar that shook the city to its foundation! There were a few large bruises on the dragon's body, and one of its eyes was red and swollen from a punch that Agiel had given it, but Agiel could tell that its injuries wouldn't be enough to take it down! Agiel let out another tired breath as she tried her best to stay on her feet. She was running low on mana, and when she looked inside herself, she could tell that she barely had two thousand units left from the initial ten thousand! If she had only been facing one dragon, then maybe she would have still been able to fight for a few more minutes, but now that there were two of them, there was no chance of her living through this.

But was that going to stop her from putting these fuckers through hell!? Of course it wasn't! Commander Agiel ran her tongue around her mouth and spat some blood to the side before turning back to the dragons with a wide, bloody grin! She raised her hands to the side and shouted at the dragons with the confidence of a thousand soldiers!

"Are we going to do this or what!?"

ROARRRRR!

Both dragons let out world-shaking roars as they prepared to attack, but everything suddenly stopped as the dragon riders felt something in the distance! The dragon riders turned their heads towards the northern part of the city, and one of them felt his eyes widen when a familiar mana signature washed over him!

"The princess!"

The dragon rider immediately turned his dragon around and told it to move towards the north, and the second dragon also followed after him so they could reach the princess quickly! The dragon riders were soldiers who had been given a mission, so they didn't really care about the people of this world! Their mission was to find and retrieve the princess, and nothing else mattered once their mission was in sight!

Captain Agiel watched as the dragons took off and began heading towards the north, and for a split second, some part of her felt like following after them. But the moment she tried to take a single step, all the energy in her body abandoned her, and she began to fall forward immediately!

"I've got you, Commander."

A hand suddenly grabbed Agiel's body before she could reach the floor, and Agiel raised her head and saw Keith's blurry face through half-lidded eyes. Agiel let out a scoff as Keith put her hand around his shoulder, and she spoke in a low voice.

"And where were you all this time? Hiding like a coward?"

Keith felt a dagger pierce his heart once Agiel said that, but he couldn't say anything to counter her since she was right. Keith knew he was brave, but he wasn't a suicidal maniac, and he knew there was nothing he could have done against those dragons.

STRONGEST NECROMANCER SYSTEMC272: Romanov - The Agent of Gaia

Chapter 272: Romanov - The Agent of Gaia

Keith was brave, but he was not some suicidal maniac like Agiel, and he knew that there was nothing he could do against those dragons. When he hid, he hadn't even been thinking about anything other than preserving his life for another moment. That was just how all humans were.

"Yes, commander. I was hiding."

Keith finally answered Agiel's question, and Agiel let out a scoff as she allowed him to support her weight. Agiel was annoyed by Keith's action, but she let go of that feeling quickly enough since it was expected. Agiel saw most humans as sheep that only wanted to preserve their lives for one more day if possible, and Agiel knew that when a sheep is faced with such unbelievably raw power, most of them would immediately hide from fear. It wasn't anything to be ashamed about since it was just thier nature, and Agiel understood that she was just different from everyone else.

'I wonder if he's different as well.'

An image of Jason appeared in Agiel's mind, and Agiel couldn't stop her thoughts from returning to that first moment when the both of them had met a few days ago. Agiel knew that there was something different about Jason at that moment. Jason wasn't like the other sheep around her. He was a kindred spirit. Someone who could look death in the face and laugh! Someone who could finally give her the feelings that she had been desperately searching for all along! Agiel wanted to meet him again.

"Commander, we need to get you to a healer. You can't even stay on your feet."

Keith spoke up while trying to drag Agiel towards the building where the other superhumans were gathered, but Agiel stopped him by force and raised her hand in the direction that the dragons had gone while telling him to take her there.

"Help me for a few minutes. I'm recovering already, so I should have enough energy by the time we reach them."

Keith was shocked once he heard this! Agiel literally looked like she was about to collapse, and she was still thinking about fighting!?

"Commander, your injuries—"

"Lieutenant..."

"Yes, commander."

"Just shut up and do what I say."

Keith grit his teeth before releasing a sigh.

"Yes, commander."

Agiel looked like she was only a moment away from passing out, but Keith knew that there would be hell to pay if he didn't follow her orders. Keith turned toward the north and held Agiel's body closer to make sure she didn't move around too much before he blasted off the ground and began following after the dragons.

...

[On the northern side of the city]

[A few minutes before the dragon riders felt Riyala's mana signature]

The Enforcers had been trying their best to convince the agents from Gaia to let them inside the city so they could help the superhumans against the Orange Gate. There was a girl standing at the border of the city with a magic staff in her hand. She was wearing an artefact that was shaped like a long hooded cloak that covered her face with a half shadow, but the lower part of her face that was visible would easily show that she was very young.

This girl was a superhuman named Romanov from Russia who worked for the secret organisation known only as Gaia. She had beautiful short red hair and black eyes that looked up at the dome in concentration. She was very young, but anyone who came near her would be able to tell that she had an absurd amount of mana inside her body! Romanov had been called in by the Gaia branch that oversaw America when they saw that the Yellow Gate in New Jersey had allowed interworld travellers to enter the city. Gaia worked to make sure that the truth about interworld travellers and the fact that they were interested in Earth stayed a secret from the masses. Most people thought that the only things on the other side of Gates were monsters with low intelligence that couldn't rival humans, and that is one of the only reasons why humans were able to adapt so quickly to their existence. If humans knew that there were creatures out there that were both smarter and stronger than they were, then it would become far more difficult to prevent mass panic!

Romanov was an A-Rank emitter-type superhuman who had been working for Gaia for the past five years ever since she was eleven years old. She was very young, but no one in the agency could deny that her presence in the agency had made their job far easier than it used to be! Romanov's ability was called [Spatial Prison]. It was a unique ability that allowed her to manipulate space and time to create impenetrable domes! Whenever Romanov used her abilities, she created a large dome from her mana that she could spread over a specific area to separate that area from reality! It acted almost like a wormhole that connected each end of the dome to the other end to make sure no one could enter or leave. If someone entered Romanov's the dome from the north side, instead of appearing inside the dome, they would simply exit the dome from the south side! And if someone inside the dome wanted to escape from the east, they would just reappear inside the dome from the west! The mechanics of her Gift were very simple, but it ensured that no one would be able to enter or leave any space that was contaminated with interworld travellers!

But since Romanov worked for Gaia, there was no record of who Romanov was or where she came from in the government files, and that always led to issues with government agencies in situations like these! That was why there were so many guards around Romanov to make sure that they didn't distract her while she kept the dome active. The security men around her were currently having a heated argument with the Enforcers that had come to help out... the Enforcers wanted to go inside, but Romanov had been instructed not to let anyone in or out, so there was no way they were getting past her. Thankfully, the men with Romanov were all close to S-Rank, so she knew they would be strong enough to handle the Enforcers.

Romanov suddenly felt that she was low on mana, and she needed to get more. Romanov used one hand to keep the dome active as she reached into a pouch on her side to grab a Magic Crystal and bite into it. Romanov let out a disgusted sound and stuck her tongue out while shaking her head! The taste of magic crystals was always disgusting! But the Magic Crystal did its job as Romanov's mana immediately soared back up to a reasonable level! Since she was only an A-Rank, Romanov didn't have enough mana to keep a dome this large active for so long, but since she only used mana to sustain the dome, Romanov was currently using magic crystals from Magic Beasts to boost her mana. A technique like this would normally cause serious damage to a superhuman's body because humans weren't built to ingest magic crystals, but Gaia had genetically altered Romanov's body in a way that allowed her not to feel any significant side effects other than slight disgust due to the taste!

STRONGEST NECROMANCER SYSTEMC273: You Should Have Brought Her Sooner

Chapter 273: You Should Have Brought Her Sooner

"We need to get in there and help! They're being killed for fuck's sake!"

A man shouted loudly at the Gaia agents in black! The agents didn't bother trying to stop the man from going forward since they knew that there was no way for them to enter the dome, so they just stood in a protective circle around Romanov and stayed silent. The shouting from the Enforcers suddenly began to become worse as time passed, and Romanov began to hum a jolly tune as she ignored them and continued her job! She knew that these commoners wouldn't understand the work that they do, so she wasn't bothered by their actions. Gaia were the ones protecting the world from the enemies humanity didn't know existed. If these fools learned about the existence of interworld beings, then they would most likely lose their minds!

A familiar mana signature suddenly reached Romanov from the distance, and Romanov looked to the side in shock to see five people standing on the building a few hundred meters away from them. The comm in Romanov's ear beeped, and Romanov immediately answered respectfully.

"Madam Fredrica! You're back."

On the other side of the call, Fredrica stood on top of the building with Riyala, Juliet, and two Gaia agents around her. Riyala was currently in cuffs, and her hood was lifted so that no one would be able to see the scales on her cheeks and neck, and Juliet was standing beside Riyala with her hands on Riyala's shoulder. Juliet refused to allow them to take Riyala anywhere without her being there since Jason had asked her to look after the girl, so Fredrica had allowed Juliet to continue following them.

Fredrica spoke into the comms.

"Open a small subsection, Romanov. We need to go inside."

Romanov nodded in understanding before she focused her mana properly and allowed a small part of her dome to fall. The dark dome shimmered, and Fredrica nodded to Romanov before she led Riyala inside! Juliet was about to follow after them, but one of the men there suddenly grabbed her and held her back from entering! Juliet cried out in surprise when she saw Riyala entering without her, but the man made sure she couldn't move! They had only allowed Juliet to come with them because they knew that her presence there would keep Riyala calm, but now that they were already here, they didn't need Juliet anymore.

Romanov watched apathetically as the agent put Juliet to sleep with some chloroform over her mouth and then carried her away. Juliet would wake up tomorrow without any knowledge of what happened today, and she would only see a fabricated story about a Gate Break on the news. But neither Romanov nor the man saw the shadows that had been following both Juliet and Riyala! One of the shadows continued going after Riyala, but the other shadow followed the man carrying Juliet. The moment the man wanted to put Juliet into a helicopter to take her away, the shadow appeared from the ground and kicked him in the head! The man flew forward and faceplanted with a grunt, and the shadow caught Juliet and immediately fell back into the shadows with her.

Romanov watched all this happen with a shocked expression, and she suddenly turned back forward when she noticed something strange! Romanov was connected to her dome, so she could feel every time someone entered or came out of the dome. There were only three people who entered the dome just now, so why in the world did she feel four people going inside? Romanov's brow furrowed as she tried to think of a reason for it, but she eventually decided that she must've just been mistaken and went back to work!

...

Fredrica stepped out on the other side of the dome and entered the city of New Jersey with Riyala and another agent from Gaia, and there wasn't a single person who didn't feel their eyes widen in shock when they saw what had happened to the city! It was an absolute disaster! There were large flames burning across almost the entire city! Most of the buildings had been broken and destroyed, and the smell of smoke and soot made it almost impossible to breathe!

And just above the city was a large yellow gate that hovered over them with a hypnotic, terrifying power. The fact that the Gate was still open was a reminder that all of this was just a taste of what was really coming! Inside that Gate were hundreds, if not thousands of other inter-world travellers who could come through at any moment! And if that happened, then the destruction of New Jersey would be the least of their problems!

Fredrica felt her hands tighten into a fist when she saw how much damage had been done in only this short time! From the reports, this was caused by only five interworld travellers and their dragon Magic Beasts! What in the world would happen if more of them were to come here!? Fredrica knew that Gaia had many countermeasures that would be able to handle monsters of this strength, but the amount of destruction that would be done to the entire country if a full-on war broke out was just too much for Fredrica to stomach! They had to deal with this now once and for all!

And just as Fredrica thought this, she saw a shadow appear in the sky and fly toward her. It was a large creature with an unbelievable wingspan and thick brown scales, and Fredrica immediately knew that it was one of the dragons! A few other dragons appeared in the air and began following after the first dragon, and Fredrica took in a breath when she saw that all five dragons were coming towards them. Beside Fredrica, Riyala looked up uncomfortably at the dragons that were approaching them! Riyala hadn't seen Juliet entering the dome behind her, and she was able to immediately tell that they were keeping her outside for some reason. Riyala hoped that Juliet would be okay, but for now, her attention was completely focused on the dragons and their riders. As they approached, Riyala was able to see the uniforms worn by the riders, and she felt fear pass through her body when she realised that they were all part of the Sovereign's Royal Army! These were the same men who had stormed the castle and killed hundreds of her friends and family members during the coup, so it was almost impossible for her not to feel fear once she saw them!

Riyala felt a sudden sickness spreading through her body as her stomach tied into knots, and at that moment, she had the indescribable urge to turn around and run, but the man behind her stopped her from going anywhere as the dragon finally got close enough to them! The five dragons landed on various broken buildings and platforms around them, and two of the soldiers came down to meet with Fredrica and Riyala. The soldier in front was the same tough-looking man that the Sovereign had spoken to in his throne room earlier, and the moment Riyala laid eyes on him, she immediately knew who he was.

'Grinot!'

Riyala felt an even greater fear pass through her body as Grinot's eyes landed on her, and she quickly turned down to look at the ground! Grinot kept his gaze fixed on her for a few more seconds before he finally spoke.

"So you had the princess all along? If you had brought her sooner, then we wouldn't have had to destroy so much of your world."

Chapter 274: Broken Negotiations

"So you had the princess all along. If you had brought her sooner, then we wouldn't have had to destroy so much of your world."

Grinot spoke with an authoritative voice filled with smug pride. He knew that they were the more powerful race here, so he didn't feel the need to show any sort of respect to people who were lesser than him. But unfortunately, Fredrica didn't understand a single word Grinot said! Fredrica put her hand out towards the man behind her, and he handed her a small box. She opened the box and Grinot blinked in surprise when he saw what was inside. It was a small round stone with a rune inscription on the front, and he immediately knew it was an artefact.

Fredrica took the artefact and she spoke.

"This will help us understand each other. Please speak."

The stone pulsed with a red light, and Grinot's brow furrowed since he didn't understand anything that Fredrica was saying. He narrowed his eyes at her and spoke in a gruff voice.

"What is that artefact meant to do?"

The stone suddenly glowed with another red light and it finally glowed blue as it accepted the different languages. The stone in Fredrica's hand was known as the [Whisperstone], and it worked by taking in two different languages from two people and translating anything one person says so that the other person could understand. The only downside to the Whisperstone was that it could only absorb two languages for its entire lifespan, so once the languages are put in, you can only use that stone to translate those two languages, and you can never reset the stone to use it on new languages. That was why the stone was put in a soundproof box to prevent any outside sounds from affecting it until they needed to use it.

Fredrica spoke up calmly while gesturing to Riyala.

"Is this who you came here to find?"

The dragonborn was surprised when the stone suddenly translated Fredrica's voice into his language, and he hummed before nodding.

"That woman is a fugitive from our world and a criminal. We are here to take her back to serve punishment for her crimes. Return her to us immediately."

Fredrica turned to glance at Riyala, and she saw the meek and terrified look on her face. No matter how Fredrica looked at this, there was no way she could see Riyala as the criminal the man was painting her to be. But that was none of Fredrica's business. She wasn't here to involve herself in the politics of a foreign world. She was here to get these people out of here.

Fredrica spoke up.

"You've caused a lot of damage to our world unprovoked. I say we deserve compensation for your damages."

"This is not our fault. Your people refused to listen to us, so we needed to show that we were not to be taken lightly. That is the way things are done in our world."

Fredrica narrowed her eyes in anger when she saw the complete nonchalance on Grinot's face. It was obvious that he didn't care about the damage that had been done at all! In fact, he believed that what they did was nothing serious since they were stronger. The strong could do whatever they wanted, and the weak would have to accept it. Fredrica was sure that this was how their world worked.

"If you will not compensate us, then we need assurance that you will leave once you have her. You cannot cause any more destruction to the world."

Grinot frowned, and Fredrica took a step back when he suddenly drew his sword and pointed it at her! Grinot's voice came out in a sneer.

"The only assurance you will get is my word, and it is all the assurance you deserve. This world is nothing before the might of Radagan, so you have no right to make demands of us. If you provoke us further, then we will raze your world to the ground and take it for ourselves. Now, hand over the prisoner."

Fredrica narrowed her eyes once she heard this. Her face remained perfectly calm on the outside, but she felt worry creeping into her heart when she felt the mana coming off Grinot! It was obvious that Grinot was at least a high S Rank, so there was no chance that she would be able to put up any fight against him at all. The large dragons looming over their heads and the four other soldiers around Grinot were all glaring down at the humans with intensity, and Fredrica realised that their only choice here was to hand over the woman and hope that the soldiers left immediately after.

Fredrica motioned to the man behind her, and the Gaia agent grabbed Riyala by the arm and began bringing her forward. Riyala was still in cuffs, and she bowed her head sadly as she followed after the agent. Riyala knew that this was what she deserved for bringing this much destruction to their world, but she couldn't stop a part of her heart from begging for someone to help her! She couldn't go back to that world! If they took her back now, then she knew her parents' sacrifice would have been for nothing!

BOOM!

A figure suddenly slammed into the ground between the two groups and raised a dust cloud across the street. The dragonriders all gripped their swords tightly as they watched the dust clear, and Fredrica narrowed her eyes as a figure slowly stood up with two swords in his hands.

Luthor had a long cut across his chest that was bleeding, and there were burns across his body that showed just how much he struggled in his previous fight, but his injuries didn't look like they were bothering him as he looked from left to right, and his eyes finally landed on Fredrica and Riyala. Luthor didn't know why the dragon had suddenly left in the middle of their fight, but for some reason, he could smell that there was something shady going on here!

Grinot immediately raised his sword threateningly!

"Get out of our way this instant!"

Luthor was shocked when he heard Grinot's voice echo back to him in English, and his eyes narrowed as he realised that they could finally talk to these bastards! Luthor raised his sword and pointed it at Grinot with a glare.

"You're not going anywhere until you pay for the damage you've done. Do you think you can destroy our city and just get away with it?"

The dragons hanging off the buildings above them all began to shift agitatedly as they watched the confrontation occurring! There was an intense burst of mana from all the dragonborn soldiers, and Luthor released his own mana in response! He wasn't letting a single bastard leave here today! Fredrica came up from behind Luthor and spoke up quickly!

"Commander, stand down! We've struck a deal with them and they will be leaving!"

"Like hell they will!"

DOON!

Another massive surge of mana appeared from the side and they all turned to see Agiel walking towards them with a mad grin on her face! Agiel's injuries were still bleeding, and she hadn't even bothered to get some clothes to cover up her underwear as she walked towards them with a threatening aura around her! The only thing she wanted at that moment was to punch something really hard!

"Those bastards destroyed our fucking city! The only way they're leaving this place is in a fucking body bag!"
