Chapter 14 – Old Chrysanthemum, Your 100,000-Year Soul Bone Is Here

Ghost Douluo and Yue Guan traveled westward, their journey taking them to the farthest reaches of the Heaven Dou Empire — the coastal Vast Sea City.

They weren't unfamiliar with this place. Years ago, they had followed the former Pope, Qian Xunji, in an assault against Sea God Island. The sea breeze, the salt, and even the distant cries of seabirds all stirred faint memories of that campaign.

Upon arrival, the two didn't linger. They went straight to work — purchasing supplies for a sea voyage, nautical charts, and other necessary equipment.

They even stopped by an auction house, where Ghost Douluo spent ten thousand gold soul coins to secure a particular item — a Soul Device known as the Dragon Abyss Skiff.

Its craftsmanship was exquisite — a masterpiece of soul engineering.

The vessel was sleek and streamlined like a shuttle, its bow sculpted into the fierce visage of a dragon. The dragon's eyes seemed almost alive, glowing with an ancient, penetrating majesty that looked as if it could pierce the mysteries of the deep.

The stern curved upward like a fish's tail, giving it a sense of movement even while still, embodying the fearless spirit of cutting through storms and waves.

Four fin-shaped wings extended from either side of the hull — enhancing both its balance in turbulent waters and adding an elegant, almost otherworldly grace.

The craft emitted a soft, pearly luster, as smooth and warm as polished jade — refined yet noble.

In its inactive state, the Dragon Abyss Skiff was only about one foot long, delicate and compact enough to carry with ease.

But once infused with soul power, it expanded into its true form — a twelve-meter-long vessel with a two-meter-wide hull, capable of comfortably carrying twelve to fifteen passengers.

More impressively, the skiff could dive beneath the waves, descending as deep as three hundred meters into the dark unknown of the sea.

It was both a ship and a submarine — a perfect tool for explorers of the deep.

Of course, it wasn't flawless. Its defensive capabilities were limited — sturdy enough to withstand the attacks of a hundred-year sea soul beast, but powerless before the might of a ten-thousand-year soul beast.

Because of this shortcoming, the Dragon Abyss Skiff had been auctioned off multiple times without a single successful bid.

Yet Ghost Douluo had purchased it without hesitation.

After all, their goal lay far deeper — to hunt a hundred-thousand-year soul beast.

Ordinary sailors would never dare to sail into those deadly waters. For this mission, a vessel capable of submerging beneath the sea was indispensable.

Once all preparations were complete, Ghost Douluo rented a large merchant ship to take them out to sea.

Days passed. Then weeks.

After several dozen days, they finally reached the deep ocean.

The sea here was dark — not blue, but a chilling shade of indigo, radiating a pressure that made even seasoned warriors uneasy.

This was a place where ten-thousand-year sea beasts roamed freely. The sailors dared not venture farther.

When the time came, Ghost Douluo and Yue Guan disembarked.

They released the Dragon Abyss Skiff and continued their journey into the open waters.

The two masters moved cautiously over the rolling waves, their sharp eyes sweeping the horizon, alert for the faintest ripple of danger.

Suddenly, Ghost Douluo halted.

"Old Guan," he said quietly, "something's coming."

No sooner had the words left his mouth than the tranquil sea exploded into chaos.

A colossal wave rose like a mountain — and from it surged forth a monstrous serpent, its body a terrifying blue-violet that shimmered with lightning.

The serpent's body stretched over a hundred meters long, vast enough to blot out the sun. Its immense shadow turned the sea below into a dark, shimmering abyss of violet light.

Its head loomed like a hill, its eyes glowing like twin lanterns filled with murderous rage.

When it opened its mouth, rows of razor-sharp fangs gleamed — blades forged by nature itself.

Each scale on its body overlapped like plates of armor, glistening coldly beneath the light. The creature looked as if it had been sculpted from gemstone and thunder.

A suffocating aura radiated from its form, freezing the very air around them.

"Foolish humans!" the beast thundered, its voice rolling across the ocean like crashing lightning.

"How dare you trespass upon the domain of this king! You seek death!"

This was no ordinary sea beast.

It was a Deep Sea Thunder Python — a soul beast exceeding one hundred thousand years in cultivation, ruler of these waters, the tyrant of the deep.

Its presence made even Ghost Douluo and Yue Guan's expressions grow solemn — but behind their tension gleamed unmistakable excitement.

Ghost Douluo's lips curved into a cold smile.

"Old Chrysanthemum," he said, his tone dark and steady,

"your hundred-thousand-year soul bone… has appeared."

He locked eyes with the thunder python, his killing intent flaring.

"Beast," he hissed,

"You dare roar before us? Do you think we would fear you?"

Ghost Douluo's taunt ignited the fury of the Deep Sea Thunder Python.

"Hmph! You insolent humans! This king shall tear you limb from limb!"

As its thunderous roar echoed across the waves, dark clouds churned over the ocean, lightning flashing wildly within the storm.

In the next instant, bolts of lightning as thick as ancient trees tore down from the heavens, slamming toward the two Soul Douluo below.

The power of a hundred-thousand-year soul beast was not something to be taken lightly.

Ghost Douluo and Yue Guan didn't dare relax for even a heartbeat — they split apart instantly, dodging through the air as their soul power erupted in unison.

Their Martial Souls flared to life.

Ghost Douluo's body melted into a blur of shadow — an ethereal phantom flickering in and out of existence.

Beside him, Yue Guan's Chrysanthemum martial soul bloomed in radiant splendor, releasing waves of golden light that illuminated the dark, storm-tossed sea.

Both men entered their Martial Soul True Body forms, pushing their power to the limit.

They darted through the crashing lightning like streaks of living electricity.

Yue Guan's eyes sharpened as he caught an opening.

"Flowing Light — Ten-Thousand Radiance!"

His Eighth Soul Skill activated — a concentrated beam of blinding golden light shot forth, tearing through the storm and heading straight for the python's massive head.

At the same time, Ghost Douluo unleashed his Sixth Soul Skill — Ghost Shadow Legion.

His figure split into dozens of identical copies.

Unlike mere illusions, these phantoms had physical form — each radiating the same sinister aura as their creator. They moved in chaotic patterns, surrounding the Deep Sea Thunder Python from every direction.

Ghost Douluo's true body stood hidden among them, his eyes gleaming coldly.

"All of you… explode."

With that, he detonated the clones simultaneously.

BOOM!!!

The sea erupted.

Columns of boiling water rose into the sky, and shockwaves rippled outward for hundreds of meters.

Even the ocean itself seemed to shudder beneath the impact.

The Thunder Python roared in agony — several of its thick, gem-like scales had been blown apart, revealing the raw crimson flesh beneath.

Each explosion carried the fusion of Ghost Douluo's extreme heat energy, amplifying its destructive power beyond normal limits.

The beast's blood hissed as it hit the sea, releasing a pungent scent that mixed with the ozone of lightning.

Enraged and humiliated, the Deep Sea Thunder Python reared back and bellowed furiously.

It had underestimated these two humans — and now, its pride had been wounded.

Its massive body convulsed violently, churning the sea into chaos. Within moments, the waters of a two-hundred-meter radius twisted into a massive whirlpool that reached all the way into the heavens.

Within the vortex, countless blue-violet arcs of lightning danced madly, forming a terrifying storm of thunder and current that could annihilate anything within.

This was its Domain Skill — Thunder Python's Domain.

Inside this storm, the Thunder Python's power doubled, while all enemies would be relentlessly assaulted by the storm's raging lightning.

"Old Chrysanthemum! Fall back, now!" Ghost Douluo shouted, his voice cutting through the roar of thunder.

The moment the domain spread, he activated his 100,000-year Left Leg Soul Bone.

His body vanished — a streak of darkness flashing through the storm.

When he reappeared, he was already beside the Thunder Python's exposed wound, where its scales had been blasted away.

Without hesitation, Ghost Douluo pulled out a vial of Ice and Fire Yin Yang Spring Water and poured it directly onto the creature's raw flesh.

The effect was immediate.

A violent hissing sound filled the air — steam and lightning crackling as the opposing forces of extreme cold and extreme heat burned into the beast's body.

The Thunder Python shrieked in agony, its massive form thrashing wildly in pain.

But rage soon replaced pain.

Its gigantic body tensed, and an overwhelming surge of electricity burst outward, threatening to vaporize everything around it.

Ghost Douluo's body was suddenly enveloped in a golden barrier of light — the second ability of his 100,000-year Left Leg Soul Bone: Invincible Golden Body.

For three seconds, this defense rendered him immune to all attacks below the divine level.

Three seconds — short for most, but for Ghost Douluo, it was an eternity.

Bathed in golden light, he kicked off the air, his speed soaring to its peak under the boost of his Right Leg Soul Bone.

He retreated over a hundred meters in an instant, then used instant movement once more to blink out of the Thunder Python's domain entirely.

In the blink of an eye, the golden radiance faded — leaving Ghost Douluo standing atop the waves, drenched and breathing hard, but very much alive.

The storm raged behind him, lightning splitting the sea — and within that chaos, the Deep Sea Thunder Python roared again, its fury shaking the heavens.

The battle for the hundred-thousand-year soul bone… had only just begun.
