Keifer's POV
The ride to the hospital felt like an eternity. Jay's head was resting on my lap, her skin pale covered with bruises, outfit stained with blood. Her face stained with tears and scratch marks she gave herself. Blood was still flowing out of her wounds non stop. Me and ci-n tried to stop the bleeding by pressing on them with a cloth. We also rubbed her freezing cold hands but it was of no use. She looked almost lifeless.
We tried everything we could to wake her up. Even if she could just move her hand or open her eyes would be enough for us right now.
The second we reached the hospital, I didn't wait for someone to open the door, I didn't care how badly injured I was right now, I instantly opened the door, took her in my arms and rushed inside the hospital yelling like a maniac for a doctor, a nurse or anyone, not to help me or the others but to help jay first.
Few doctors and nurses came running towards us, their eyes wide after seeing our condition but I didn't care about us right now, all that matter was that jay is ok.
Doctor: u all need to get treated right now. U r severely injured.
Nurse: how did u even get this injured?
Keifer: not the time. I don't care about anything other than my wife. Give her treatment now!
Nurse: ok sir, we'll handle her. U all need medical attention too.
Keifer: just get her the treatment. She's not waking up. Don't make me ask again. U don't know what I can do, I'm MARK KEIFER WATSON!😎
Ci-n: keifer calm down. Jay wouldn't want u to behave like this right now. Doctor, get her the treatment immediately. She's with me. I'm CINCO NEITH PERALTA.😎
Doctor: ok then mr. Peralta. Let's prepare for surgery for everyone, especially this girl. Ah, what's her name sir.
Keifer: JASPER JEAN MARIANO WATSON.
Nurse: ok then right this way sir.
They brought out a bed and wheeled her into the ICU. I didn't leave her side until we reached the ICU and they forced me out to do the surgery.
We all also got surgery, bullets removed, wounds cleaned and wrapped. After a few hours we all were done but jay was still not out yet.
We all waited outside the ICU room. The nurse and the others tried to convince me to rest for a bit bcz I had lost a lot of blood too but I didn't. I couldn't. Not when my jay was in there fighting for her life. Not when the image of her lifeless in my arms flashes across my eyes every time I close them. The only thing keeping me grounded right now was the flashing red light above the ICU door.
Her mom, tita gema, godfather, the girls and my brothers keigan and Keiran arrived to the hospital soon too.
Godfather: what happened?
Mom: where is jay?
Tita gema: is everything ok?
Keiran: kuya, where is ate?
Keigan: what's going on? Why r u all so badly injured and where is ate jay?
Freya: will someone say something and tell us what's going on here?
Angelo: everyone calm down. We don't need anymore panic around here right now.
Godfather: what's going on? Why did u call us to the hospital in a rush? Spill it now!
We told them what happened. How the fight began and how it escalated.
Godfather: then what happened?
Mason( scoffing ): what else, she used code red and now is in the ICU. U already know what will happen now.
Godfather: what? Why didn't u give her the sedative then?
Mj: the syringe broke during the fight and her bodyguards won't let us get to her bcz of her orders. It was already too late. There was no going back and she knew that but she still did it. We couldn't do anything by the time we reached her.
Aries( shouting ): will someone explain to us what the fuck code red is and what r u guys even talking about? What's going to happen to my sister now?😡
Robin: code red means jay taste blood and let the monster inside her take over to help win the fight.
Ren: we knew she couldn't handle it anymore that's why we tried to talk her out of it but she kept saying the same thing on repeat, she would do anything for the safety of her loved ones even sacrifice herself if needed. She's been pushed too far now. Now there r two outcomes left, either she wakes up but not as jay but as the monster living inside her or she goes into coma, we don't know for how long. And that is if she still survives after being this much injured and losing a lot of blood.
I couldn't take it anymore. I stood up and grabbed him by his collar.
Keifer: what the fuck did u just say! And why do u even have that code, don't tell me u used it before.
section e and the team held me back and forced me to let go of him.
Thyme: calm down keifer.
Mason: u all r not in the right mind to listen right now.
Keifer: I am calm. Just tell me before I fucking loose it and bury every single one of u here.
Lia: yes, we did used to use it years ago to win fights and complete missions but we didn't know what it did to her. She always hid it from us. We were able to keep her in check so we didn't mind it but we banned the code when roy kidnapped her and then that incident with cyrus happened and we saw what was happening to her.
Kent: her condition kept getting worse even after we stopped using the code. We knew her body couldn't take it anymore. We all knew that if she used that damn code again....
Aries: then what?
Robin( frustrated ): that she could go into coma ok. She knew that too but it didn't stop her from acting like the martyr as always. She could remember everything now and her body can't take the pressure.
Angelo: I knew u all were danger. That's why I didn't like u all. U should have left her alone. Whenever u all r close to her, she ends up getting hurt.
Godfather: don't act like a saint angelo. I know u wanted jay to remember everything.
Choi: what?
Angelo: how do u know that?
Godfather: I tried to talk her out of using her plan b which involved using code red when u were busy training in the morning. She told me about what u wanted. She said that if she used code red that maybe she could get her memories back and help her mom win the case and u all wouldn't force her to go to the psychiatrist anymore either.
Tita jeana( angry ): is that true angelo?
Angelo: I didn't want this. I only tried to get her to open up in front of a psychiatrist so that we can help u win the case. She was the only witness. If she could remember then we will have some proof to prove ur innocence.
Tita jeana( angry ): I never told u to do that. If something happens to jay, I'm warning u angelo, u won't be able to leave this hospital alive.
Keifer: u'll need to get in line tita. Fuck u angelo. If something happens to jay, I'll bury u here first.
Tita gema: stop it everyone. There is no point in passing the blame between each other. What's done is done. Jay wouldn't want u all to fight like this. For her sake, calm down and just wait for her surgery to be completed.
Keifer: fine. But only for jay.
We waited for a little while more. Then the red light above the door turned off and out came the doctors and nurses. We all rushed towards them.
Keifer: doctor how's jay now?
Tita jeana: is she ok?
Godfather: was she able to wake up?
Doctor: the patient lost a lot of blood and had multiple deep wounds and was on the brink of death bcz of it. It's a good thing u performed some basic medical procedures on time. We were able to save her and she's perfectly fine but.....
Aya: but what doctor?
Doctor: the thing is, the patient has gone into coma. We don't know for how long. It could be a week or a month or longer. We can only hope for the best for the time being. She'll be kept under observation for now and hope that her condition doesn't deteriorate. I'm sorry. Excuse me.
He said and then left.
The ground seemed to be pulled from under my feet. I collapsed on the ground.
Nurse: one person may see her now.
I didn't think, I just moved.i didn't care if anyone else wanted to see her. I needed to see her the most right now. I pushed open the doors to the ICU and saw her.
Her face still pale. Tubes and needles attached to her. The only thing hinting us that she was still here was the steady beeping of the machine around her.
Bandages covered almost every part of her. She looked so lifeless. I collapsed on the chair beside her. I hesitated before putting my hand over hers. Her hand was still freezing cold.
All my strength vanished. All the tears I had been holding back streamed down my cheeks non stop. I kept my forehead on her hand and cried like a child when he looses his favourite toy.
Keifer( whispering ): pls come back to me jay. Don't do this to me my queen. U promised we would be together forever. Don't break ur promise now.
I kissed the back of her hand.
Keifer: come back to me my mutya. I need u. Just come back to me. No one will ever hurt u again. I'll grant ur every wish. I'll take u to ur favourite all u can eat buffet, I'll make the pasta and garlic bread u like to eat whenever I make it myself. Heck, I'll make hundred of them if that's what it takes to get u back. I'll watch all those silly series u like. I'll be ur partner in crime. I'll never hide anything from u ever again. I'll never leave u or hurt u. I'll keep u happy and safe from everyone. Just pls come back to me jay. If u truly love me then u'll come back to me.
Then I kissed her forehead.
Keifer: I can't live without u wifey.
Our moment broke when a nurse entered the room.
Nurse: sir, we need to shift her to another room now.
Keifer: ok.
They shifted her to a vip room booked for her by godfather. I didn't leave her hand for even a second.
Soon everyone came in the room to see her.
They all were crying but I didn't care.
One by one they came forward and collapsed on the ground beside her.
Rakki: come back jay.
Mica: pls jay.
Ci-n: I'll treat u to all the ice cream u want.
Eman: I'll cook whatever dish u want.
Tita jeana: baby, pls open ur eyes. I'm sorry I couldn't be there for u before but I am here now. U won't leave me, right baby?
Zia: we finally got our revenge jay. U should be celebrating right now. Not lying on bed like that. Come on jay, wake up.
Keifer: u just got ur father back jay. Didn't u say u would go to him. He's waiting jay. We all r. Pls wake up.
Felix: pls jay. U r our mutya, our meddler. U r supposed to be the hyper one, the one who keeps us together, who fixes our problems, who makes us laugh.
Keiran: I don't like this version of u ate. Pls come back to us. I can't loose u too. U can't leave us like mom.
Among what others said, that is the one that hurt me the most. Keiran never got the mother's love he deserved but it was finally being made up to by jay. She's like his mother too. She won't leave us like this.
Then her team came forward.
Robin: I brought ur necklace jay. The one keifer gave u.
Mason: didn't u say it could help bring u back and help keep the monster inside u in control.
Keifer: she really said that?
Thyme: yes, it's also one of the reasons she wanted to wear it during the fight and u saw the way she held onto that necklace and snapped back to reality even for just a while when she wanted to hurt us.
Tony: she says that if u r not there to control her then ur necklace is the next best thing to control her.
Robin: here. Why don't u put it on her. She likes it when u do that.
I took the necklace in my shaking hands. I looked at it and then at jay. Then I carefully put it on her.
Alex: she loves u a lot u know. She won't leave u like this. She'll come back to u.
Keifer: I know she will. She's strong. She'll be back and when she is, I'll never let her leave again!
