Chapter 151 - Wood Release

Chapter 151 – Wood Release

Kakashi could only sigh when he saw the mischievous glint in his brother's eyes.

Even though his own strength had long surpassed the level of most Kage, he still felt powerless whenever he stood before his older brother. In every battle, in every exchange of blows, Hatake Yusuke was an unscalable wall.

If not for legends like Hashirama Senju or Madara Uchiha, Kakashi was confident he could stand at the top of the shinobi world.

But in front of Yusuke, that confidence always shattered like glass.

In their last spar, Yusuke hadn't even broken a sweat.

"Nii-san… was the First Hokage really that strong?" Kakashi asked, his gaze fixed on Hashirama Senju and Tobirama Senju, who stood motionless on the rooftop battlefield.

"More or less," Yusuke replied casually, his eyes following the ongoing clash. "But with your current strength, you still can't compare to him."

He tilted his head slightly, his tone suddenly turning firm. "You should train harder. I've been back for quite a while, and I haven't seen you take anything seriously. All you ever do is read that perverted novel Jiraiya-nii wrote."

"Uh…" Kakashi froze, unsure whether to defend himself or stay silent.

"If I catch you reading that thing again," Yusuke said flatly, "pretend you didn't hear me."

Kakashi's spine straightened immediately. "I'll train harder, I promise!"

"Good," Yusuke said, his smile faint but meaningful. "Soon, I'll restore Hashirama to his full power. Watch closely, Kakashi. See the gap between you and him. If you can't close that gap within three years…"

He paused, the corners of his lips curling into a teasing smirk. "…don't blame me for being a cruel big brother."

Of course, deep down, Yusuke had no real intention of hurting him. But perhaps the one writing this story had other ideas.

Somewhere far away, Jiraiya suddenly shivered. "Why do I feel like someone's blaming me for something again…?" he muttered, looking around nervously.

"I understand, Nii-san," Kakashi said seriously.

On the rooftop battlefield, Orochimaru had already activated his forbidden jutsu. The two Hokage he summoned slowly opened their eyes.

"It's been a long time, Sarutobi," Hashirama said calmly, his expression unreadable.

"Oh… Sarutobi, you've grown old," Tobirama added, examining his former student with faint amusement.

"To meet you both again under such circumstances… what a shame, Hashirama-sama, Tobirama-sama," Hiruzen said, his gaze resolute.

"Wait a second," Hashirama said, blinking. "If Tobirama's here… does that mean I'm dead too?"

"This is Edo Tensei," Tobirama muttered, extending his hand and immediately analyzing the situation. "We've been summoned back from the Pure Land by someone… quite skilled."

"I told you before, little brother—jutsu like this should never have existed," Hashirama said lightly, though the reprimand in his tone was clear.

Tobirama simply clicked his tongue, too proud to respond.

A moment later, both brothers moved forward in jerky, unnatural motions—like puppets pulled by invisible strings. Orochimaru's Edo Tensei wasn't perfect, and the vessels he used were weak.

Even so, their raw presence alone was enough to make the air tremble.

Hiruzen, however, didn't falter. "Forgive me, my Hokage."

He formed a rapid string of seals. "Fire Release: Dragon Flame Bomb!"

A torrent of fire burst forward, illuminating the rooftop in blazing light. Tobirama's eyes narrowed.

"Water Release: Water Formation Wall!"

Even without a water source, a massive wall of water erupted from beneath him, extinguishing the flames instantly.

"Incredible…" Yusuke said with a faint smile. "Even as corpses, his control is that precise."

"Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet!" Tobirama followed up, forming a roaring dragon of water.

"Earth Release: Earth-Style Wall!" Hiruzen countered swiftly, a massive wall of stone rising to block the attack.

"Tobirama-sama's Water Release mastery is beyond comparison," Kakashi said in awe. "Not even Zabuza or I could form such a massive jutsu without an existing water source—and he simplified the hand seals too."

Yusuke chuckled softly. "Indeed. At this point, it should be called Sea Release, not Water Release."

The clash continued. Hashirama suddenly dashed in, closing the distance with frightening speed. His punches and kicks were simple yet devastating. One hit sent Hiruzen crashing into the ground.

"Still terrifying, even in this state," Hiruzen muttered, pulling himself back up.

Before he could recover, Tobirama caught him with a powerful Water Technique, dragging him back into a surging torrent.

Hiruzen burst his chakra outward, forcing himself free and leaping to the surface again—but his breathing had grown heavier.

Age… I really can't deny it anymore, he thought grimly.

And then—a faint rustling reached his ears.

From the shattered tiles around him, a small green sprout emerged.

"No… it can't be…!" Hiruzen's eyes widened in alarm.

"Wood Release: Nativity of a World of Trees!"

The entire rooftop exploded in growth. Towering trees erupted from the ground, their massive branches twisting like serpents, lashing toward Hiruzen to bind him.

"Summoning Jutsu!"

A white-furred monkey appeared beside him.

"Transform, Enma!"

The monkey vanished in a burst of smoke, replaced by a gleaming golden staff. Hiruzen swung it fiercely, smashing through the incoming trees one by one.

Before the branches could reform, a calm voice echoed.

"That's enough, Third Hokage. Leave the rest to me."

Hatake Yusuke stepped forward, standing between Hiruzen and the resurrected Hokage.

Hiruzen hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Very well. I'll leave it to you."

Yusuke smiled faintly. "Thank you."

He turned to face Hashirama and Tobirama. "It's an honor to meet you both, First and Second Hokage."

Both brothers stopped moving immediately, as if their bodies sensed something their minds could not.

"Yusuke-kun… you're getting involved too?" Orochimaru called from a distance, voice dripping with amusement.

"How could I not?" Yusuke replied. "After all, the man you're fighting is Tsunade's grandfather."

"Wait—Tsunade?" Hashirama's expression softened instantly. "How is my granddaughter?"

"She's doing well, thanks to the two of you," Yusuke answered kindly.

"And who exactly are you to her?" Tobirama asked sharply.

Yusuke smiled. "Her husband."

For a brief moment, Hashirama's stern face broke into a broad grin. "Hahaha! Well done, young man!"

Tobirama, on the other hand, frowned. "So what brings you here? To stop us, or to help Orochimaru?"

"Neither," Yusuke said casually. "I just wanted a bit of practice—with the both of you."

Tobirama's eyes narrowed. "Careful, boy. We can't control our movements right now."

"Don't worry," Yusuke said lightly. "You won't be able to touch me anyway."

"This brat… so arrogant," Tobirama muttered irritably. "Does he even realize who he's talking to?"

"'Opponent,' you say?" Yusuke chuckled. "No offense, but in your current state, neither of you qualify as that."

"You—!" Tobirama's chakra flared, frustration breaking through the Edo Tensei's control.

Before things could escalate, Yusuke raised a hand. "Relax. Before we start, I'll restore both of you to your full power. Otherwise, it wouldn't be interesting."

He began forming seals. The air around him thickened—powerful, ancient, and pure.

Far away, Tsunade froze mid-battle, her golden hair whipping in the wind.

"That chakra… it's Grandfather's… Wood Release?!"

Her eyes widened, and without hesitation, she dashed toward the source.
