Chapter 271 - Yakushi Kabuto, Scared Half to Death

Chapter 271 – Yakushi Kabuto, Scared Half to Death

Hatake Yusuke slowly removed the blindfold covering his eyes, revealing a pair of beautiful eyes as vast and clear as the open sky, fantastical enough to make one lose themselves in them. His white eyelashes matched his silver-white hair perfectly, and his nearly flawless face was finally shown in full.

"What's wrong, Temari?" Seeing Temari frozen in place, Hatake Yusuke waved his hand in front of her eyes.

"H–Huh? What did you say, Yusuke-senpai?"

Temari snapped back to her senses, realizing she had just acted completely inappropriate. Her cheeks immediately flushed red.

"What else would I say? You were spacing out. And drooling," Yusuke said as he rolled his eyes.

At that moment, Temari instinctively touched the corner of her lips—and sure enough, she actually felt a trace of saliva there. Her embarrassment instantly deepened.

"Um… Yusuke-senpai, may I ask you something?" Temari looked at Yusuke as she spoke.

"Just ask." Hatake Yusuke's mind was completely focused on dessert at the moment, so he didn't notice Temari's expression at all.

"Why do you always wear a blindfold, Yusuke-senpai? You're… really handsome," Temari said softly.

"Oh, that?" Yusuke replied casually. "Because I'm too handsome, I need to cover myself up a bit."

Hearing that answer, Temari genuinely didn't know how to respond. Fortunately, the shop owner arrived at that moment with their sweet snacks.

Hatake Yusuke immediately dug in without hesitation.

"This is amazing. Even though the taste and texture are completely different, it's seriously delicious," Yusuke said excitedly, as if he had just discovered a whole new world.

"I'm really glad you like it, Yusuke-senpai," Temari said, picking up a small piece of dessert and taking a bite.

Before long, every last sweet on the table had disappeared into Yusuke's stomach.

"Hahaha, that was incredible," Yusuke said in satisfaction.

"Oh right—where's my blindfold?" Hatake Yusuke reached out, intending to put it back on, only to realize it wasn't on the table anymore.

"Well… your blindfold got a bit of cream on it while you were eating. I have these sunglasses. If you don't mind, please wear them for now," Temari said as she took out a pair of elegant-looking sunglasses.

"Not bad. You've got good taste," Yusuke nodded, accepting them and putting them on.

"I'm so happy you like them, Yusuke-senpai." Seeing her small gift accepted, Temari looked genuinely delighted.

"Alright, it's almost time. Let's go see Kakashi first," Hatake Yusuke said.

Although Temari felt like time had passed far too quickly, she understood how important this war was.

And so, Hatake Yusuke took Temari to meet Kakashi. After that, Hatake Yusuke teleported back to his home. He saw Konan wearing casual clothes, busy in the kitchen. Not long after, a sudden explosion erupted from a pan on the stove.

Seeing that scene, Hatake Yusuke was so shocked his eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. That was his kitchen. Without the slightest hesitation, Hatake Yusuke instantly appeared inside.

"Time Reversal."

In the blink of an eye, the shattered pan was restored to its original state.

"I'm sorry… I just wanted to try learning how to cook," Konan said, looking a little embarrassed.

"Hah… forget it, Konan. Cooking really is about talent. From now on, just leave things like this to me," Yusuke said helplessly.

"Oh…"

Konan replied softly, sounding somewhat disappointed.

In truth, Hatake Yusuke wasn't trying to look down on Konan. Cooking really wasn't as difficult as he made it sound—but he genuinely couldn't understand why people in this world could be so terrifying in the kitchen.

Konan had literally blown up a pan, Tsunade's cooking was more poisonous than actual poison, and Kurenai's dishes were… barely tolerable. Hatake Yusuke truly couldn't imagine how they managed it. Could it be that Konan was secretly adding Explosive Tags while cooking, and Tsunade was sprinkling poison into her meals?

"Hah… next time, I'll teach you," Hatake Yusuke said.

"Really?" Konan's face instantly lit up.

"Of course," Yusuke replied with a faint smile.

"You seem awfully relaxed. Didn't Tsunade ask you to go help?" Yusuke asked curiously.

"Tsunade-neesan is extremely busy right now. She hasn't had time to register my ninja records yet, so for the moment, I can't participate," Konan explained.

"Those old fossils are really stubborn. If I'd known, I would've cleaned them all out ages ago," Yusuke muttered.

"Don't casually talk about killing people," Konan scolded him.

"Ah, right. I forgot—you're Jiraiya-nii's disciple," Yusuke said.

"And what does that have to do with anything?" Konan asked, confused.

"Because he's a great sage," Yusuke replied.

Konan naturally caught the sarcasm in his tone, but she didn't say much. Deep down, she also felt that Jiraiya-sensei was far too kind.

"That masked man… he must have taken Nagato's body, right?" Konan suddenly remembered something.

"Possibly," Yusuke replied.

"May I ask you for one thing?" Konan looked at Yusuke with a sincere, pleading expression.

"Go on." Hatake Yusuke let out a soft sigh and gently patted Konan's head.

"I want Nagato to be able to rest in peace after his death," Konan said quietly.

"Don't worry. Leave Nagato's matter to me. You don't need to concern yourself with it. It's just not the right time yet," Yusuke said calmly.

Konan trusted Hatake Yusuke completely, so she nodded obediently.

After chatting with Konan for a while longer, Hatake Yusuke suddenly teleported to a forest outside Konohagakure.

"Come out on your own, or should I drag you out?" Yusuke said flatly.

"Hatake Yusuke-sama… it's been a long time. Your power is still just as overwhelming as ever." A figure appeared before Hatake Yusuke.

Hatake Yusuke didn't recognize the man's face, but he knew instantly that the body in front of him was created through Impure World Reincarnation.

"Oh? So it's you. You're quite cautious—even using bait just to locate me," Yusuke said, sounding almost impressed.

"Of course. When facing you, Hatake Yusuke, only absolute caution allows one to live a little longer. But what truly surprises me is… do you still remember someone as insignificant as me?" the figure asked.

"How sly. One of Orochimaru's little subordinates… if I'm not mistaken, your name is Yakushi Kabuto," Yusuke said with a faint smile.

"As expected of Yusuke-sama. A terrifying existence—one even Orochimaru-sama deeply respects. But what I'm curious about is, how did you find me?" Yakushi Kabuto asked.

He knew very well that, to avoid Hatake Yusuke's tracking, even this Impure World Reincarnation hadn't been activated by his own hands.

"Don't test my patience. If I want to find you, it's incredibly easy. Your little tricks are completely useless," Yusuke said with a cold grin.

On the other side, Yakushi Kabuto was already drenched in cold sweat. Just that brief glance from Hatake Yusuke earlier had made him feel the presence of death itself—despite being separated by thousands of kilometers.

"Hatake Yusuke… truly a terrifying man. Even the legendary Uchiha Madara and Senju Hashirama might still be far beneath him," Yakushi Kabuto muttered as he rubbed his eyes, forcing himself to stay calm.
