Chapter 116 - Let Captain America and Iron Man Love and Fight Each Other

With his discerning eye, Lin Feng could naturally see the terrifying power and craftsmanship behind the Stormbreaker battle axe. And of course, the only race capable of forging such a divine weapon for the future Thor could only be the Dwarves.

They were, after all, Asgard's royal smiths.

Ever since the Dwarves had sworn allegiance to Asgard, they had lived peacefully. Their population was small, and they were not skilled in combat—so they needed the protection of a powerful realm.

Asgard fit that role perfectly. It was a mutually beneficial relationship.

Moreover, the Stormbreaker was most likely forged after the events of Ragnarok, when Asgard had already been destroyed. What kind of top-grade materials could possibly be left by then?

Better to forge one now while the world still stood—give his son a mighty axe to boost his strength and chances of victory.

Honestly, even Lin Feng found the future far too bleak. Facing Thanos, there was almost no hope of victory. Even if they somehow obtained the Infinity Stones and the Gauntlet, the artifact's power depended entirely on its wielder.

If it were in the hands of ordinary humans, it was doubtful they could even survive using it, let alone kill Thanos.

Did anyone really believe there existed a divine weapon that required no price to wield?

The more powerful the artifact, the greater the burden it placed on its user.

"Mm." Thor nodded slightly. He could sense the Stormbreaker's immense might—and he couldn't help feeling a bit envious.

Strong and stylish.

After all, strength is temporary—but style lasts a lifetime.

At that moment, Lin Feng finished jotting down his diary entry. With a flick of spatial magic, he opened a portal and stored the diary back in the home safe.

"When am I finally going to draw a personal storage space?" Lin Feng sighed. "Would save me from having to lock it up every single day."

He had joked about Captain America in his diary, but truthfully, he held the man in high regard. Many people disliked Civil War, saying Cap was hypocritical—one face in public, another in private.

Especially with Tony Stark's overwhelming popularity, not siding with him was practically a crime.

But Lin Feng didn't see it that way.

Even if the U.S. government painted him as a saint, at the end of the day, Captain America was just a man—a man granted strength, yes, but still a man. His moral compass was stronger than most, but he was no flawless deity.

Humans have preferences and biases. And truth be told, Cap wasn't entirely wrong. The Winter Soldier had indeed killed Howard Stark—but he was a weapon, controlled and used by Hydra.

It was Hydra that bore true responsibility.

Tony Stark himself seemed to accept that in the end. Otherwise, he wouldn't have begrudgingly reconciled with Steve Rogers.

Besides, by that logic, Tony should also be guilty. As an arms dealer, his weapons were used by terrorists and militaries alike to kill innocents. Should he then commit suicide to atone?

Obviously not.

Lin Feng had no intention of meddling in their moral conflict. Let them love and fight each other to their heart's content.

It didn't take long for S.H.I.E.L.D. to prove its efficiency. Barely three days later, Sharon Carter arrived with the files on Anton Vanko and his son, Ivan Vanko.

They were living in a slum on the outskirts of Moscow. Anton, long banished from the U.S., had become a bitter alcoholic and was now bedridden. Their living conditions were abysmal.

And yet, under such circumstances, Ivan had managed to hand-build an arc reactor. That alone was proof of his genius.

Lin Feng immediately chartered a private jet to Moscow, bringing Sharon Carter and a small team with him.

After enduring Russia's notorious pothole-ridden roads for hours, they finally reached the dilapidated slum.

Because much of Russia lies in the far north, constant freezing and thawing had destroyed the roads. Back in Soviet times, there had been money and will to fix them. Now? Not so much.

Not that America was much better. Since the Cold War ended, both superpowers had declined sharply in governance—America was just slightly less miserable.

When Lin Feng and his team finally found the Vanko father and son, both men were stunned.

A group of Americans—led by a man who looked unmistakably Chinese—had come all the way to find them. The situation was… strange.

"What do you want?" Ivan Vanko asked cautiously in English. He knew his father had enemies in America—chief among them being none other than Tony Stark, now the world's richest man.

In his mind, if Americans had come looking for them, there could only be one reason: trouble sent by Stark Industries.

"Relax," Lin Feng said with a smile. "I'm not one of Tony Stark's people."

Ivan didn't lower his guard. The man before him radiated danger—and his muscular Asian bodyguard behind him looked even deadlier.

"Then what do you want?" he pressed.

"It's simple," Lin Feng said casually. "I want to invite you to join my company."

"Why?"

Lin Feng smiled faintly. "Why else? Because you're a genius. I think you're every bit as brilliant as Tony Stark. The arc reactor, the fusion system—that's the future. A massive cake, and I want a slice. You're the man I've chosen."

Originally, Lin Feng hadn't planned on running a company. He had neither the tech rewards nor the patience for business.

But over time, his wealth had exploded—and his mindset changed. When you can protect it, even a fortune that size becomes worth managing.

"Besides," Lin Feng continued, "you could use my help. Do you even have the money to treat your father? In America, you'll have access to the best hospitals—and your talent will actually mean something. Here in Russia, it's wasted. Isn't that true?"

Since the Soviet collapse, Russia had devolved into a giant gas station, living off raw resource exports. Technical talent was practically worthless.

Ivan glanced at his frail father. After a moment of silence, he finally nodded. He'd already begun plotting how to use this Chinese-American to achieve his own ends—his vengeance against Tony Stark.

"Of course," Lin Feng said lightly, "since you've agreed to work for me, there's one condition: drop any delusions of revenge. Don't think about using my company's resources to build a suit of armor and go after Stark. I won't clean up that mess for you. Understood?"

He still remembered the original timeline—how Justin Hammer had recruited Ivan, treating him lavishly and springing him from prison, only for Ivan to use Hammer's own resources to wage a personal vendetta, landing Hammer himself behind bars.

Classic villain behavior—zero gratitude, driven purely by hate.

So Lin Feng wanted to make one thing clear: consider yourself warned.

If it were the old him, he wouldn't have dared deal with Ivan. But now, he was confident in his power—and unafraid.

When Lin Feng suddenly smiled, Ivan broke into a cold sweat. For a moment, it felt like he was being stared down by a beast.

He didn't know how Lin Feng had seen through his thoughts—but he knew resistance was pointless.

"Of course," Lin Feng added with a faint smirk, "you can always try."

He then clenched his fist—and with one effortless punch, blasted through an entire wall of the shack.

Pure, overwhelming strength.

Ivan nearly fainted. He was tall and brawny, feared in the slums—but even he couldn't dream of collapsing a wall with a single blow.

And Lin Feng looked like he hadn't even used full force.

Whatever rebellious thought Ivan had vanished instantly.

"This dump isn't worth staying in anyway," Lin Feng said calmly. "Sharon, leave one assistant behind to handle his paperwork. Get him to the U.S. as soon as possible."

With that, Lin Feng turned and walked away. He had no intention of freezing to death in Russia's miserable winter.

Yes, he knew showing off his strength would expose him—but it no longer mattered. Sharon Carter and Natasha Romanoff had both been sent by S.H.I.E.L.D., meaning he was already on their radar.

Whether it was because of his vigilante activities as "Homelander" or his killing of Kingpin and support of Bullseye's rise in the underworld, it was clear: S.H.I.E.L.D. had taken notice.

And if they already knew his power, then there was no point hiding it any longer.
