"You should know," Alpha Noca began, his tone low but sharp enough to slice through the air between us, "that I have no intentions of making you my Luna. That is impossible. You are a man, an Alpha. And from what I've heard, the only men who ever ended up with other men as mates to alphas were those unfortunate enough to be omegas."
At his words, something cold and heavy dropped into my stomach. My hand froze midair, the spoon clattering softly back into the bowl. For a moment, I forgot how to breathe. I thought he was watching me and waiting for me to slip, to confirm what he might already suspect.
Had my cover been blown while I was unconscious? Did someone see something?
I had seen my wolf alive and restless beneath my skin. But Eryndor had promised to keep him suppressed, to prevent him from surfacing. Still, what if Alpha Noca had noticed something I hadn't? What if he knew?
