Chapter 209: The Sealed Eight-Tails, the New Jinchūriki
Sasuke rolled his eyes in exasperation.
Naruto had been quoting Battle Through the Heavens nonstop for days now — blurting out lines at random moments, laughing in that ridiculous way from the book.
At this point, Sasuke had grown immune. Naruto's idiocy was nothing new, after all.
And truth be told, it wasn't just Naruto. The whole of Konoha — even neighboring nations — had been swept up by the novel's craze.
Meanwhile, the man responsible for this cultural phenomenon, Uchiha Fugaku, was lounging comfortably on his sofa at home, flipping through TV channels.
A few days ago, he had submitted a written proposal to the Fire Country's broadcasting department, suggesting they expand their programming. To his pleasant surprise, they'd acted with remarkable efficiency. Within days, several new channels had gone live — each offering a variety of new shows.
They were still nowhere near the level of entertainment variety from his previous life, but it was a huge improvement from the same three channels playing on repeat every day.
---
From the kitchen came Mikoto's familiar voice.
"Dinner's ready, dear!"
Fugaku rose from the sofa, cleared the table, and leaned out the window to call,
"Sasuke, Naruto — wash up and come eat!"
Then he went into the kitchen to fetch bowls and chopsticks.
Moments later, Uchiha Itachi descended the stairs silently, joining them for dinner.
As the family began eating, Fugaku suddenly spoke up.
"Sasuke, what do you think of that new girl in your class?"
Sasuke blinked in confusion. He'd never paid much attention to girls and couldn't even recall her name.
"I… don't know," he replied honestly.
Naruto perked up immediately.
"Uncle Fugaku, are you talking about Karin?"
Fugaku nodded, smiling faintly.
"Yes. Sasuke, how about letting Karin become your future wife?"
"Huh?" Sasuke nearly dropped his chopsticks.
"Father, I'm only seven years old!"
Itachi chuckled quietly, while Mikoto covered her mouth, laughing softly.
Naruto, however, grinned mischievously.
"Wow, that's great, Uncle! Karin's really cute — and with that red hair, she'd match Sasuke perfectly!"
Sasuke scowled.
"Shut up, you idiot! You can't even eat properly without talking nonsense!"
Fugaku's smile lingered as he turned to Naruto.
"And what do you think of Karin?"
Naruto tilted his head thoughtfully.
"Well, when she first joined our class, she looked kinda sad all the time, like something bad had happened. But lately, she's been smiling more — so something good must've happened, right?"
His tone was surprisingly serious.
Fugaku nodded slightly. Indeed, nearly a month had passed since he brought the mother and daughter to Konoha. The time was right — tomorrow, he would proceed with the Eight-Tails sealing.
Naruto elbowed Sasuke playfully.
"Congrats, Sasuke! Guess you're getting married early!"
Sasuke glared daggers at him.
"Congratulations for what, you moron?!"
"All right, boys," Mikoto said with a laugh. "Your father was only teasing."
Fugaku's eyes glinted briefly, though his tone remained mild.
He wasn't entirely joking. The thought of uniting Sasuke and Karin in the future had crossed his mind — a perfect match between the Uchiha and Uzumaki bloodlines. But there was no need to speak it aloud yet.
---
The next morning, Fugaku arrived at the Hokage Building and convened a brief meeting with Nara Shikaku, Uchiha Shisui, and Hyūga Hiashi.
After confirming preparations, he decided: today would be the day they sealed the Eight-Tails into Karin.
He ordered the Anbu to summon Jiraiya and fetch Karin from the Ninja Academy.
Since the academy was close to the Hokage Building, Karin arrived quickly under Anbu escort. Jiraiya, on the other hand, took his time — as always.
"Fugaku," he said upon arrival, scratching his head, "what's this all about? The Anbu didn't tell me why I was called."
Fugaku folded his arms calmly.
"I plan to seal the Eight-Tails into Karin. I'll need your help."
Jiraiya blinked, glancing at the little red-haired girl beside them. Recognition dawned — she was the daughter of the woman Tsunade had saved not long ago.
An Uzumaki. Of course.
Still, he wondered aloud, "Why not use the mother as the Jinchūriki?"
Fugaku answered plainly, "Her life force was damaged beyond repair. She wouldn't survive the process. Karin, however, inherited her clan's vitality."
Jiraiya nodded. "Makes sense. All right, I'll help."
"Good. We'll perform the sealing at Hokage Rock — everything's ready there, including the containment seals and the Eight-Tails itself."
To ensure absolute control, Fugaku would personally oversee the operation.
"Let's move."
---
Karin followed quietly, not fully understanding what was happening.
Words like Jinchūriki and sealing meant nothing to her — but she did understand one thing: since coming to Konoha, she and her mother had lived in peace for the first time in years.
Her mother always said, 'Never forget kindness. Always repay it.'
So whatever these adults wanted her to do, she would obey — without hesitation.
Her small hands clenched tightly at her sides, but her steps never faltered.
---
Above Hokage Rock, the sealing platform gleamed with fresh, intricate runes. The elite Sealing Team stood ready.
But Jiraiya waved them off with a confident grin.
"No need. I've seen enough seal work to handle this myself. Kushina — my disciple's wife — was a Jinchūriki, after all. Minato had me reinforce her seal more than once. I know what to do."
Under Fugaku's supervision, Jiraiya swiftly began inscribing the sealing marks.
The Four Symbols Seal.
The Eight Trigrams Seal.
The Five Elements Seal.
One after another, the layers fused together perfectly — solid and stable.
Within half an hour, the process was complete.
Jiraiya wiped his hands clean and smiled at the girl.
"Well, Karin, how do you feel? Any pain? Dizziness?"
Karin shook her head shyly. "No… I feel fine."
"Good. Everything went smoothly," Jiraiya said, turning to Fugaku with a smirk. "Mission accomplished. Mind if I head off now?"
Fugaku nodded. "Go ahead."
"Perfect. I'll grab a nap, then drop by Tsunade's for lunch," Jiraiya muttered happily as he strolled away.
---
"Kisame," Fugaku said calmly, "escort Karin back to the Academy."
The tall blue-skinned shinobi bowed slightly, a faint grin on his lips.
"Leave it to me, Hokage-sama."
Hoshigaki Kisame gently guided Karin down from the cliff and back toward the village.
After dismissing the Sealing Team, Fugaku returned to his office.
There, he created a Shadow Clone to continue writing the sequel to Battle Through the Heavens, while his real self stretched out on the small bed in the side chamber, closing his eyes for a well-earned nap.
A short while later, Kisame returned silently, blending back into the shadows of the Hokage's office — ever ready to await Fugaku-sama's next command.
