Chapter 118 - Born Strong

"It shouldn't be possible, right?" Bai Ye said hesitantly, even a little shaken by his own thoughts.

If that really turned out to be true, then it would be just as the Ancient One had said—something terrifying to the point of being monstrous.

A creature that never dies and only grows stronger each time it's defeated… The only way to deal with something like that might be through sealing it away forever.

"Are you sure about that?" The Ancient One's smile was mysterious, almost eerie. Bai Ye fell silent and shook his head slowly.

Because he suddenly remembered—the unused attribute points he still had.Whenever he used them, the increases they brought didn't appear in his base stats.

Those points didn't just raise his attributes—they directly strengthened his life bar, while his experience bar remained untouched.Perhaps one day, he really could reach the terrifying state the Ancient One described.

"Would you like to hear my second discovery?" she asked.

Bai Ye nodded slightly, without speaking.

"This one isn't a theory," she said softly. "It's a confirmed fact."

"Your 'Infinite Growth' talent continues to function even after death. The result is simple—you die, but your stats keep increasing."

"No matter whether it's death, sealing, timeline alteration, or attribute suppression—anything that harms you contributes to your growth."

"When that accumulated damage reaches a certain threshold, your experience bar fills up. And when it does, your state resets… and you're resurrected, stronger than before."

"The final result is that—those who kill you only make you stronger."

As she spoke, the Ancient One's gaze locked firmly on him.

The man before her could be sealed, killed, or have his memories erased—but those would only be temporary measures.

With this kind of constitution, he might stumble occasionally, but in the end, the one standing at the finish line would always be him.

Whether he wanted it or not, that was already decided.

He was, quite literally—a born strong one.

"I understand what you mean," Bai Ye said, taking a slow breath. "This visit has been… very enlightening."

He rose to his feet, nodded politely to her, and said, "Send me back to New York."

"You're not going to study my magic?" The Ancient One smiled knowingly.

"I'll do that after I take care of the administrator in ten days. For now, I need to train." Bai Ye waved a hand.

In the next instant, a glowing portal to New York opened before him.

As the young man stepped through and vanished, Mordo entered the room from outside."Master, someone was just here," he said.

The Ancient One nodded lightly."A restless soul," she said. "He's fine… just a bit impatient. I merely helped him calm his mind."

Under the night sky of New York, Bai Ye emerged from the portal, gazing up at the stars. He took a deep breath, shaking his head slightly.

Though his visit to Kamar-Taj had been brief, it had benefited him immensely.

Since arriving in this world, he'd carried a strange, unshakable sense of urgency. After all, this was Marvel—a world full of constant crises and disasters. Anyone would feel pressured to grow stronger as quickly as possible.

It was that constant pressure that had driven him to push himself so hard these past two months.

And yet, the Ancient One had just told him—It's fine. Don't worry. You're already invincible.Even if you die doing something reckless, you'll simply come back later—stronger than before.

In short, Bai Ye realized that his "genre" wasn't Extreme Cultivation Flow, but rather Invincible Flow.

A wry smile spread across his face."Suddenly… I feel so relaxed."

Looking down at the river beneath him, Bai Ye exhaled softly, let his body go limp, and allowed himself to fall.

He plummeted freely through the night air, crashing into the water with a resounding splash.

As waves rippled out around him, Bai Ye sank deeper and deeper, every muscle loosening, even his breath stilled.

He just wanted to lie there for a while.

As fish darted about nervously around him, he slowly closed his eyes—and in a tranquil state of mind, drifted into sleep at the bottom of the river.

For the first time, his mind was completely at ease.He thought of nothing.Just rested there, motionless, in the quiet dark.

That night, Susan, feeling inexplicably restless, arrived once again at Bai Ye's villa.

When Camilla opened the door, she said flatly, "Come in."

Susan nodded and followed her inside."Where's Bai Ye?" she asked.

"No idea. Who knows where he's off fooling around this time?" Camilla rolled her eyes."He said he was going to Afghanistan, then the Himalayas—and now he's completely disappeared. Either way, you're not getting any fun tonight."

"W-who said anything about that?!" Susan stammered, her face turning bright red. She hadn't come here for that, or so she told herself.

"Sure, sure," Camilla said with a teasing grin.

And so, the night passed quietly—Bai Ye indeed didn't return.

At six in the morning, deep beneath the river's surface, Bai Ye's eyes suddenly snapped open.He sat up from the riverbed, feeling refreshed and invigorated.

With a single leap, he burst from the water, rising into the air.The startled onlookers nearby gasped as the qi inside him surged, instantly evaporating the moisture from his clothes and hair.

Pulling out his phone, Bai Ye began making calls one by one.

"Camilla? Yeah, something came up last night. I won't be back for the next ten days—I've got training to do."

"Kingpin? Proceed with what I told you before. I'll be off the grid for a while."

"Mary? Tell Smith I'm giving you guys a short break. I'll be away training."

"Erik…"

And so on.

He called each contact methodically, ensuring that his absence wouldn't throw anything into chaos.

Once everything was settled, Bai Ye's body began to fade—entering a phased, intangible state as he sank straight through the ground.

Ten meters… a hundred… a thousand…

The deeper he went, the heavier the pressure became. Finally, at a certain depth, he switched his body back to its physical form.

Instantly, the layers of earth pressed in from all sides—thousands of tons of weight evenly distributed over his entire body.

His arms and legs held up fine, but his eyes and eardrums began to ache sharply as the crushing force pressed inward.

Not yet. My body's not at its limit.

Gritting his teeth, Bai Ye continued digging downward, forcing his hand through the dense earth.

Even if the Ancient One had called him "invincible," there was still a battle with the Chat Group Administrator in ten days.He intended to use every hour of that time to strengthen his body—ideally, four or five times over.

After all, within the chat group's system, his power level was only just touching Level 4, roughly equal to the group leader's.

If he couldn't win that fight and the enemy escaped… it would be beyond embarrassing.
