Chapter 72 - The hero's duty: put down the shield, lie down and enjoy

Steve finally, under Dominic's 'half-hearted' persuasion, slowly lay down with a conflicted heart. His mind still conjured the sense of mission of the Avengers and the persistence of a warrior, but on this soft, cloud-like Sun lounger, amidst the atmosphere of ultimate enjoyment, he felt a moment of daze.

Seeing that he had finally relaxed, the robot butler Alfred immediately summoned the full service team. Blonsky, standing nearby, wore an expression of 'this is going to be good' and smugly raised an eyebrow at Dominic.

The service team immediately surrounded Steve. Warm towels were gently placed on his forehead, and the masseuse, while skillfully massaging his shoulders and neck, softly explained, "Mr., this is our customized soothing relaxation therapy for you, to help alleviate your tension."

Steve couldn't help but frown, a hint of unnatural shyness appearing on his face: "Uh... I... I'm not used to this kind of thing..." He tried hard to struggle and sit up, but the masseuse gently pressed down on his shoulder, saying gently but firmly, "Mr., please rest assured, we are very professional."

Seeing this, Dominic smiled slightly, adjusted his non-existent sunglasses, and gently advised, "Captain, relax. This is a 'Hero Relaxation Therapy' tailor-made for you. You don't want to live in the shadow of battle every day, do you?"

"I... I didn't mean that." Steve turned his head uncomfortably, trying to hide his embarrassment, "It's just... this seems a bit different from the 'mission' I imagined."

Blonsky laughed heartily from the side and teased Dominic, "Dominic, it seems Captain still can't let go of his military airs." He turned to Steve, with a casual and unrestrained demeanor, but his tone carried a deeper meaning: "Captain, I was also a soldier once, fighting on the battlefield just like you, experiencing countless life-and-death situations... including that so-called experiment the last time. I was crippled, even turned into Abomination, but now? I just want to live well and enjoy life."

Steve looked at Blonsky, slightly moved, but also a little hesitant: "But don't you feel that this kind of life is too... too relaxed?"

"Relaxed? Captain, this is the qualification earned by escaping death on the battlefield." Blonsky's tone was unhurried, with a hint of teasing pride, "Enjoying life is the real 'living'. If I could choose, I would not hesitate to choose my current life, rather than having everything destroyed by battle."

The Shar-Pei nearby wagged its tail and let out two low "Woof, woof" sounds, seemingly agreeing with Blonsky's point.

Dominic smiled and patted the Shar-Pei's head, while casually leaning back in the chair, looking up at Steve and saying, "Hear that, Captain? Put down your burden of responsibility and learn to enjoy life. Besides, this mission is just your first step towards a 'Hero Leisure Life'."

"But... if that's really the case, am I still a superhero?" Steve asked doubtfully, his eyes showing a hint of struggle, as if still trying to find a reasonable explanation for his 'relaxation'.

Dominic shrugged, acting indifferent: "Hero? You're not a hero just because you strut around in a cape and punch villains every day. It's because you have a life experience and attitude that surpass ordinary people." He smiled mysteriously, "Besides, who says heroes can't enjoy life? This World doesn't lack heroes, but it lacks 'special' heroes like us who know how to live."

Upon hearing this, Steve felt as if he was tangled in Dominic's 'logic'. For a moment, he couldn't find anything to retort with, and could only sigh: "Maybe I really should try to relax a bit..." Although he said this, the expression on his face was clearly still uncertain.

Seeing this, Blonsky smiled and encouraged, "Captain, be brave. Enjoying life also requires courage. You know, 'enjoying life' is also a mission." He turned and gave Dominic a look, "Dominic, wouldn't you say?"

"Is that even a question? Captain, why don't you take advantage of today and relax properly?" Dominic smiled and called over a few more masseuses to begin providing Steve with the full service. Massage, hot compresses, gentle background music quickly helped Steve slowly relax. As the service continued, his brows gradually unfurrowed, and a look of relief finally appeared on his face.

Dominic leaned closer to him and said in a low voice, "You know, Captain, we are all people standing at a high place. We don't need to lose the joy of life over trivial matters. You need to learn to enjoy the process; that is true heroism."

Dominic watched Steve's struggling little look, his mouth curving slightly upwards. He leaned back in the chair leisurely: "What's wrong? Captain, you look like you're about to save a Planet. But you're just lying here, enjoying a little bit of life's beauty! Otherwise, who else do you expect to experience it for you?"

He deliberately paused, then added, with that unique 'big brother teaching little brother' smile: "Oh, right, Captain, if I had agreed to anything about the Avengers from the start, you probably would have left at 'light speed', right?"

Upon hearing this, Steve's expression became even more conflicted, feeling as if his inner thoughts had been exposed. Dominic patted his shoulder, as if giving him a 'unique' encouragement: "Come on, Captain, this little bit of relaxation is also a 'responsibility'. For your iron bones, enjoying life is also one of your duties. Besides, the government is counting on you to be a healthy, mentally top-notch model hero. If we lack this fun, how can we live up to the public's expectations for Captain America?"

Blonsky, nearby, stifled a laugh and chimed in, "Captain, Dominic is right. Just fighting and killing is so boring! Look at these scars on me, and think about the days when I was Abomination, only then do you realize that life should be enjoyed." He muttered in a low voice, feigning seriousness, "I used to be such a fool, always thinking about fighting and serving. Now that I think about it, if I had even a trace of consciousness about 'enjoying' in my mind, my life would have been much happier!"

Steve's scalp tingled slightly. He knew this was their provocation, but he also felt there was some truth to what they said. He struggled internally, repeatedly reminding himself: "No, I am Captain America!" But another voice seemed to emerge in his mind, "Wait... When have I ever enjoyed myself? Is this not also a form of 'taking care' of myself?"

Dominic and Blonsky exchanged glances. Seeing Steve's hesitation, a knowing smile appeared on their lips at the same time. Blonsky pursed his lips and smiled mischievously: "Dominic, look at Captain's expression... seems promising, huh?"

Dominic nodded solemnly, raising an eyebrow slightly, "Mm, it seems our respected Captain... has finally taken a small step."
