Inside the conference room, the group gathered again, the atmosphere noticeably heavier than before. Hawkeye rubbed his forehead, having regained consciousness, while Natasha watched him silently from the side, a hint of worry in her eyes.
Nick Fury coldly swept his gaze across the room, his eyes lingering on Dominic for a few seconds, clearly harboring suppressed anger. There had been an opportunity to end the battle, but Loki had still been rescued by Agents with the scepter, a situation that could have had a perfect conclusion. Dominic looked at Nick's gaze, shrugged slightly, and muttered in a relaxed tone, "Is it my fault? If I hadn't stepped in, Coulson would probably be gone by now."
Nick was noncommittal, seemingly about to say something more, but was interrupted by Thor's hearty laughter. Thor held a beer in his hand, drinking it in large gulps, his face full of post-battle exhilaration. "Haha! Now this is more like it! Finally, a good fight." He wiped his mouth in satisfaction, seemingly unconcerned about Loki's escape.
Steve frowned, looking at the team, each with their own thoughts, feeling a headache coming on. The cohesion of this 'team' was simply incomparable to the army he had once led. Taking a deep breath, he thought of Dominic's "relax a bit" mindset again, perhaps he was indeed too anxious. He calmed down and analyzed, "Loki still holds the Cosmic Cube. If we don't find out his next move soon... we'll miss the great opportunity to stop him."
Hearing this, Thor waved his hand indifferently, muttering vaguely, "The news about the army is correct, but there's no need to be this tense, right? That guy isn't very creative, I'm sure." He paused, then explained, "The Cosmic Cube in Loki's hand actually contains one of the Infinity Stones – the Space Stone. I bet he'll use this thing to summon the Chitauri."
Tony raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms over his chest, a hint of casual teasing in his tone. "Aliens? Hearing you talk, they don't sound like much. Earthlings are dealing with them for the first time, will they collapse at the first blow?"
Thor took a sip of beer, thought for a moment, and then spoke, "I think they're very weak – of course, that's just my opinion. But for Earth, it might be a bit troublesome?" He glanced at Dominic not far away, a slight smile playing on his lips. "However, with us here, I find it a bit interesting."
Nick coughed lightly, drawing everyone's attention back, and said calmly, "This time, we have no room for error." He stared at the data of the Cosmic Cube on the screen. "As long as the Cosmic Cube is in his hands, he has enough power to open a space portal anywhere and summon the Chitauri army."
Steve nodded, adding calmly, "Therefore, we need to analyze where Loki will choose to summon the army and seal off his possible portal entrances."
Dominic leaned back casually in his chair, scoffing, "Hmm, alien army or portal... at that time, won't it just be about beating up anyone who dares to come in? Making it sound so complicated." He tilted his chin towards Nick, a hint of a challenging smile on his lips. "Can you planners be simpler?"
Nick suppressed his reaction, ignoring his words, and continued, "Loki is not just a simple enemy, he is very smart and good at creating chaos and division. If he chooses to open a portal in Manhattan, the consequences will be unimaginable."
Tony raised an eyebrow, saying disapprovingly, "Manhattan? That would be lively. I bet Loki's goal is to strike at our favorite place. I say, why not let him come to Manhattan? We'll catch him and his little Chitauri army in one swoop?"
Natasha shook her head calmly, analyzing, "Manhattan is densely populated, and we are not sure of the Chitauri army's specific capabilities. If things get out of control, New York will suffer immense destruction."
Thor raised his hand and shook the beer bottle, frowning, "Even if the Chitauri are strong, it won't happen instantly for them to pass through the portal and descend. As long as they land, we'll have a chance – of course, that's after they actually come in."
Steve stared at everyone, his heart filled with determination for the battle. "Then we have to find and guard Loki's portal entrance. As soon as the portal opens, we can defeat the Chitauri one by one."
Nick looked at Steve and Tony, and slowly nodded, "Very well, it seems everyone understands our situation. Next, we will focus all intelligence on possible target locations, ensuring no clues are missed."
Dominic stretched lazily, a playful expression on his face as he said, "Isn't this great? It's like playing a game, fighting monsters and leveling up wave after wave. Army or aliens, Earth's defense always has heroes guarding it." He shrugged, a smile appearing on his face. "Maybe I can even get another bottle of nipple cola then."
Banner couldn't help but roll his eyes, looking at Dominic's nonchalant appearance, feeling that this person really knew how to bring up sensitive topics. "Nipple cola"? He had only just gotten rid of that 'point of ridicule' a few minutes ago!
Tony suddenly became thoughtful, his gaze sharpening. He seemed to have thought of something, his pupils slightly contracting, and then he suddenly cursed in a low voice, "Oh, damn it!" He immediately turned around, his hands rapidly operating the device on his wrist, summoning the Iron Armor, and quickly putting it on. Everyone else looked at him in confusion, only to see him raise his head, with an expression of "must act quickly."
"Loki... this guy is so high-profile, and he even took the Cosmic Cube..." Tony's expression became serious, "Is it possible... oh no!" He suddenly seemed to understand something, and cursed in a low voice again, "My Stark Tower! Bastard!" After saying that, Tony didn't delay any longer, immediately activated the armor, and soared into the air, flying towards the direction of Stark Tower.
Nick's eyes lit up, and he quickly ordered, "Immediately launch the fighter jets and send the remaining Avengers to Stark Tower."
As soon as he finished speaking, Thor had already stood up, gripping Mjolnir in his hand. With a swing of the hammer, he soared into the air, lightning flashing, and then disappeared into the night sky, only his low voice coming through the communicator, "Don't worry, Loki will not escape!"
Nick turned to Dominic, raising an eyebrow and asking, "You can fly too, why aren't you going quickly?"
Dominic put his hands in his pockets, shrugged lazily, and replied with a smile, "Alright, alright, I'll go quickly. Whoever doesn't fly is a puppy, right?" He waved at Nick, then turned to look at Blonsky, a hint of teasing in his smile. "Mr. Abomination, don't just stand there, your massive body should get moving too. This time we have 'flying transportation' - let's take the fighter jet first, save you the trouble of getting tired."
Blonsky immediately grinned, a hint of excitement flashing in his eyes, his muscles instantly bulged, and his whole body transformed into the Abomination. He roared, his voice deafening, as if warming up for the upcoming battle. He glanced at Banner with a slight provocation and said in a low voice, "Don't worry, I'm not some 'nipple boy' Hulk, I have combat genes built-in."
Dominic chuckled, patted Abomination's broad shoulder, and while pointing to the waiting fighter jet, he exaggeratedly waved at Nick, "Let's go, the fighter jet is waiting for you there. Can't let Earth's hope be dashed because of my 'slowness', right?"
Nick watched them walk towards the fighter jet, feeling both annoyed and amused. He sighed inwardly, these Avengers were all 'artist' personalities, especially this guy Dominic, who hardly followed anyone's command except for fun.
