Amanda
I was stunned as heck when he led me to this room and said this was where I would be staying.
A room next to his? Was that how ambitious and hard-hearted he was? To get me to do his bidding, only to discard me later and make me suffer even more?
But I couldn't shake off that feeling of unease etched deep in my bones. I was just a tiny breath away from asking him if he was my mate.
My head spun, and I didn't like the thought, or the tears that streamed down my cheeks. Yet I couldn't stop scanning the room. It had a large bed, a reading table, and a shelf that was half-packed with books.
There was a small clothing rack beside the bed, a door to the left, probably the washroom, and a large window similar to his that allowed the sunlight to spill across the room.
Something about the arrangement reminded me of that terrifying room Annabel had once locked me in.
