Chapter 85 - The Battle Ends

Feeling the pain shooting through his arm, the red glow in Abomination's eyes flared even brighter.

He glared at Meng Ran with fury, roaring as he swung his massive fist down toward him.

But Meng Ran easily dodged each blow without even breaking a sweat. In his eyes, Abomination's speed was still far too slow.

Each of Abomination's heavy, earth-shaking punches missed and slammed into the ground, shattering the concrete beneath him.

Then, in a blur, Meng Ran vanished from sight—reappearing right behind Abomination. Qieyun flashed, the blade stabbing deep into Abomination's back.

The sword's tip pierced straight through his chest, bursting out the front in a spray of blood.

Caught off guard by the sudden strike, Abomination coughed up a mouthful of thick, dark-green blood.

Meng Ran swiftly pulled his blade free, causing another violent spurt of blood to gush from the wound.

Roaring in pain, Abomination staggered backward, slamming into a nearby building in an attempt to crush Meng Ran against the wall.

A deafening boom echoed out as the concrete wall exploded into rubble, burying Abomination beneath the debris. But Meng Ran had already teleported away the moment Abomination charged.

"Sigh… using your brain really was a fair trade for all that muscle." Meng Ran looked at the half-buried creature clawing his way out of the rubble and let out a helpless sigh.

The old Abomination, at least, used to fight with some sense. But after taking that serum, this one had completely lost his mind. No tactics, no defense—just blind rage and charging straight ahead.

Finally digging himself free, Abomination roared again, ready to charge. Meng Ran, however, had lost all interest. Facing such a brainless opponent didn't even make him want to fight anymore.

He recalled his blade with a thought, standing still in place as Abomination lowered his head and thundered toward him once more.

When Abomination saw Meng Ran suddenly stop moving, he didn't think much of it—just shook his head and kept rushing forward with bloodshot eyes.

Meng Ran didn't move until Abomination was only a few steps away.

Then—crack!

From the shattered road beneath them, countless black spikes shot upward like lances, impaling Abomination from every angle.

The monster let out a pained, guttural scream, unable to move an inch.

Those dark spears pierced through his body completely, lifting him into the air.

Dangling there, Abomination flailed wildly, howling in agony. But the more he struggled, the deeper the spikes drove into his flesh.

Under the bright night sky, the broken street was filled with countless obsidian spikes, all converging on the creature writhing upon them.

Meng Ran's hood swayed gently in the wind. He looked up at the struggling Abomination and whispered softly,"This time, I'm really sending you on your way… Blonsky."

The moment he spoke, the black spikes began to twist and churn. A sickening puchi, puchi sound filled the air as Abomination's body was ripped apart into countless pieces.

Once he was gone, Meng Ran took out a glass vial and collected some of the creature's blood and tissue before storing it in his system space.

As for the remaining flesh, he gathered it together and burned it all to ashes.

"If only I could control the fire element," Meng Ran muttered. "Next time I run into something like this, I could just cast a Great Fireball and clean it all up in one go."

While thinking that, he turned his attention toward Gwen and the others.

Their fight with the Big-Head Monster was already in full swing, and their teamwork was excellent.

Gwen and Peter used their webs to keep the creature constantly bound, giving it no chance to escape.

Meanwhile, Liu Xiu unleashed a barrage of attacks using his gravity control, slamming the creature over and over.

Every so often, Gwen or Peter would take a shot of their own, their enhanced strength making each punch devastating—sending the Big-Head Monster flying and spraying blood like a broken faucet.

"Tsk tsk tsk tsk… brutal," Meng Ran murmured, watching as the trio kicked and punched the creature around like a soccer ball.

He hadn't expected his earlier words to come true—he'd joked about kicking the Big-Head Monster's head around, and now Gwen and the others were literally doing it.

It was almost pitiful.

Before long, their battle came to an end.

Right from the start, Peter and Gwen had kept the Big-Head Monster bound tight with their webs.

After being kicked around like a ball until he was coughing up fountains of blood, the dazed monster barely had time to react before Liu Xiu unleashed one final full-power gravity crush.

The creature was flattened in an instant—crushed from a three-dimensional being into a two-dimensional smear.

The scene was even bloodier than when Meng Ran had finished off Abomination.

So much for Meng Ran's earlier warning about being careful—the Big-Head Monster had been completely overestimated.

Throughout the entire fight, his supposed intelligence had been useless. From beginning to end, he'd been utterly crushed by Gwen's team.

Even whatever schemes he'd planned never had a chance to be used. The moment he broke free, Liu Xiu simply crushed him again.

After the battle, Meng Ran began cleaning up the battlefield as usual.

He collected a vial of blood and tissue, then gathered the rest of the remains into a pile and burned them clean—leaving no trace behind.

When the cleanup was done, Meng Ran and the others returned to Dr. Samuel's laboratory.

Inside were Samuel's research notes and the blood samples he'd created using Banner's blood.

But when they entered, they discovered a soldier lying motionless on the ground—the same female soldier who had been in the lab earlier.

Checking closer, Meng Ran realized she wasn't unconscious—she was dead. The fatal wound was on her neck.

Apparently, when Blonsky had attacked from behind earlier, he hadn't held back at all.

After two rounds of serum injections, Blonsky's control over both his emotions and strength had already begun to crumble.

He must have struck too hard—snapping the poor woman's neck instantly.

Meng Ran sighed quietly, then gently picked up her body and carried it outside to rest on the street.

After that, he returned to the lab and carefully gathered every remaining sample and piece of data.

When everything was properly secured, Meng Ran and his group stepped outside.

He pulled out a high-yield explosive and tossed it into the lab.

A thunderous boom followed, reducing the entire place to ash.

Meanwhile, aboard a military aircraft high above, Banner was still restrained, guarded closely by soldiers.

They had seen the earlier battle from the air.

When another monster appeared, General Ross faced a storm of criticism from both his daughter, Betty, and Banner himself.

Ross had no excuse—Blonsky was, after all, his man.

But even he hadn't expected Blonsky's lust for power to turn him into such a monster.

Originally, Ross had reluctantly agreed to Banner's plan—to let Hulk fight and stop Blonsky.

But just before that could happen, Meng Ran and his team had appeared, handling the situation before Banner ever had the chance.

With the crisis resolved, Banner lost his opportunity to fight and was kept under watch aboard the aircraft.

The plane soon left New York behind, flying over the open sea.

Then, with Betty's help, Banner broke free of his restraints and leapt straight out of the aircraft into the ocean below.

Ross could only watch as Banner's figure disappeared into the waves.

But this time, unlike before, the general didn't look furious.

He simply gazed into the distance, deep in thought.
