"My Lord, are we being taken to be executed?" Evangeline asked, a hint of worry in her voice.
"Of course not. What gave you that idea?" Taranis asked, chuckling at the foolish question.
Apparently, when Ume's voice echoed to scold Taranis, she had told him to meet her at the Mountain of Spirits without making an appearance.
"You still have the nerve to ask that?" Evangeline muttered, poking Taranis's cheek with her finger as the couple flew through the sky, leaving the Deer Clan behind and reaching the Lingtian Mountains. "You attacked their capital city. She must be taking us to an execution site. We should leave from here."
"Are you sure that's not your jealousy talking?" Taranis asked, his brow arching in suspicion.
Evangeline flinched as Taranis's words hit the nail on the head. After hearing that feminine voice, which sounded so enchanting even when it was sharp, Evangeline no longer wanted to meet Ume. Or more accurately, she didn't want her Lord to meet her.
