Spider-Man was speechless.
He, of course, knew Venom, and he also knew the person taking the photos.
Back then, when he went to the Daily Bugle to sell photos, the one who led him into the Daily Bugle was this Phil Urich.
"You guys at the Daily Bugle are just too…"
Peter couldn't find a word to describe the actions of these two people in front of him.
He looked at Venom, then at Phil, silently complaining, how are people at the Daily Bugle all the same!
"Can't be helped, I'm just a worker!"
Phil greeted Spider-Man familiarly, snapping a few photos with his camera, then looked at Venom beside him.
"You continue."
Eddie cautioned, still in his Venom form, not revealing his true face. He looked at Spider-Man in front of him and asked, "What are you doing?"
"Making an antidote."
Spider-Man explained, "The Lizard became that way because of a complex gene serum. If we consider that complex Lizard gene a poison, then the medicine I'm making now can counteract it, allowing him to return to a human appearance."
He paused, a little distressed, "But there's a problem, the Lizard just ran off. I don't know when he'll show up again! We can only restore him to normal if we catch him."
"I see."
Venom nodded, his voice low. "Don't worry, you should see the Lizard soon."
"What do you mean?"
Spider-Man's eyes widened behind his mask, and then, as if sensing something, he suddenly looked at the space behind Venom.
A black Batmobile floated into view.
Batman stood on the hood, the Lizard, broken and helpless, lying at his feet.
Thud!
Spider-Man watched in astonishment as Batman kicked the Lizard to his side.
"I believe you can change him back, right?"
Peter's ears perked up, his eyes widening behind his mask. He realized Batman was looking at him with a knowing gaze, as if he could see right through him.
A few minutes later.
The Antidote was ready.
The Lizard transformed back into Connors.
The only difference was that Connors' right arm, which had grown back, was once again gone. Worse still, this experience had also cost him his right leg.
Connors was now completely confined to a wheelchair.
He lay on the ground, his eyes vacant and lifeless.
Spider-Man could see Connors' despair, and the rage that filled his heart.
"Why?"
Connors murmured to himself, staring at Batman with intense hatred: "Why do this to me? I just wanted to be a whole person!"
"Your thoughts, including your actions, are dangerous. Instead of dwelling on your disability, you should be considering how to compensate Osborn Industries for the losses and the harm you caused to others while you were the Lizard. The loss of your right leg is the price you paid… perhaps, that also includes the rest of your life's freedom," Anton said calmly.
As he finished speaking, George Stacy led a group of police officers who arrived at the scene.
Batman, Venom, and Spider-Man were all present.
Phil Urich's eyes lit up with excitement. He subtly adjusted his camera, recording everything in high definition.
"Batman, leave him to us."
Seeing Connors on the ground, missing his right arm and leg, George finally understood why Batman hadn't handed Lizard over to him immediately after subduing him…
Lizard could revert!
"George, he's yours!"
With everyone watching, Batman said those words and entered the Batmobile, disappearing into the distant sky.
Venom and Spider-Man left one after the other.
The latter took a long look at Connors before leaving Osborn Industries and leaping out the window. He sighed and vanished into the city without looking back.
Phil appeared at the right moment.
He asked George Stacy, "Commissioner Stacy, congratulations to the New York Police Department on catching the Lizard. What's your assessment of the Lizard's actions, and what's your take on this Lizard incident? Does the Lizard incident offer any lessons for the NYPD?"
George Stacy only then realized there was a reporter inexplicably mixed in at the scene.
"Get him out of here."
George glanced at the camera, his head aching. He didn't resort to violence, just told his men to escort Phil out.
Phil was helpless and was escorted out of Osborn Industries by the police officers.
He waited there.
Sure enough.
Eddie and Anton quickly appeared beside him.
"How'd it go?"
Eddie patted his shoulder and grinned, "Did you get everything?"
"Of course!"
Phil thumped his chest, chuckling, "Don't forget who taught me! Eddie, I'm your student!"
"Good job!"
Eddie nodded with satisfaction, "You're almost a master!"
Beside them, Anton stared at the sealed Osborn Industries building. Suddenly, he turned his head and saw a black car driving towards them at the end of the road.
The car pulled up in front of Osborn Industries.
Immediately, the driver jumped out and opened the passenger door, revealing the head of Osborn Industries.
Norman Osborn straightened his suit and began walking towards the building.
A group of reporters noticed Norman and swarmed him.
"Mr. Osborn, what's your take on the Lizard incident?"
"We hear the Lizard was an Osborn Industries employee who mutated due to a mysterious serum. Is this related to the life gene technology Osborn Industries has been researching?"
"Osborn Industries has confirmed the acquisition of the Life Foundation. Is this technology related to the Life Foundation and Carlton Drake, who once became a monster?"
"Mr. Osborn..."
The clamor of voices, accompanied by the clicking of flashbulbs, made the entrance to Osborn Industries incredibly lively.
Phil pushed his way through the crowd, waiting for Norman Osborn's response.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I'm willing to answer questions."
Immediately, bodyguards cleared a path. Norman Osborn arrived at the top of the steps leading to the entrance, looking at the reporters in front of him. His expression was calm, and he said lightly, "However, only one media outlet can ask questions."
As soon as he finished speaking, ignoring the uproar from the reporters, he pointed and said, "I believe the reporter from the Daily Bugle is definitely here."
Phil was stunned, then quickly raised his hand, overjoyed. "Here, here! Mr. Osborn, I'm the reporter from the Daily Bugle."
"Very good, come with me."
Norman Osborn nodded, then looked at Anton on the edge of the crowd, and Eddie beside him, saying, "Anton, if you'd like, you can come along too."
Anton and Eddie exchanged a look, then gracefully navigated the crowd, ignoring the envious gazes of the reporters, and followed Norman Osborn into the Osborn Industries building.
Norman's bodyguards surrounded them, but when the elevator doors opened, he told them, "You don't need to come with us. Stay at the door and don't let anyone in."
"Boss..."
One of the bodyguards hesitated.
"I'm perfectly safe here. No one can touch me," Norman said firmly, then looked deeply at Anton and smiled, "Right, Anton?"
Anton was taken aback, but then nodded and replied with a smile, "Of course."
