"You saw right through me."
Kler, being the Secretary of Defense, was as thick-skinned as they come and didn't even flinch. He nodded. "If I'm not mistaken, I do indeed know where The Allspark is."
"The Allspark arrived on Earth around ten thousand years BC. Sector 7, the government's secret department, didn't find it until 1913. They knew it was something special because the hieroglyphs on The Allspark matched the writing on that alien you mentioned, Megatron."
Kler explained patiently.
Anton paused, recalling the details.
"The Allspark emits a certain energy, which is why Megatron came to Earth in the first place."
Batman's avatar spoke up at the opportune moment, "You used a method to block that energy, preventing the Transformers from finding it."
"Correct."
Kler smiled slightly, a little proud. "We've been monitoring a specific magnetic field emanating from The Allspark. To contain this force and, more importantly, to keep The Allspark out of the wrong hands, we constructed a massive base."
"A massive base?" Jameson blinked, surprised.
Anton, standing beside him, wasn't surprised at all; he knew exactly what Kler was referring to.
Kler paused, then said, "Hoover Dam."
"Hoover Dam is your base for studying alien technology?" Jameson was stunned.
The Hoover Dam, construction beginning in April 1931, completed in March 1936, costing $49 million and the lives of 112 people, was actually built to conceal the presence of alien technology, or rather, an alien treasure.
This overturned his understanding of the world.
Kler said, "Hoover Dam is the most suitable location. The base is built within the mountain, and the surrounding walls are as thick as four football fields. No one can take The Allspark from us."
"What happened today is truly unheard of, even for a journalist like myself."
Jameson sighed.
It was conceivable that if Anton weren't his grandson, he probably wouldn't have known these secrets in his entire life.
"Alright, the information sharing about the aliens ends here."
Batman then said, "You just said that there should be aliens coming to Earth; then, you must have some specific information, right?"
"Correct."
Kler nodded. "Sector 7 is pursuing the aliens. They've already found some clues, and we located something in Los Angeles."
"Therefore, we might need the Justice League's assistance."
Kler paused, then continued, "After all, if the military handles this, they'll inevitably use heavy weaponry. That would cause panic among the citizens of Los Angeles. If possible, we'd prefer not to alarm the public."
"Understood."
Batman exchanged a look with Cyborg. "Then we leave for Los Angeles immediately."
"Immediately?"
Kler was taken aback.
"You stay put."
Batman finished speaking and stepped forward, placing a hand on Kler's shoulder.
Whoosh!
Only Anton and Jameson remained in the room.
Jameson stared blankly at the scene before him, finally understanding. Batman, Cyborg, and John Kler had used some astonishing technology to leave New York and arrive in Los Angeles, appearing as if they had teleported.
"Anton."
He immediately turned, his expression hostile, and glared at his grandson. "Isn't there some misunderstanding between us?"
"What misunderstanding?" Anton feigned composure.
"Like, you and Batman... you don't seem to be the same person."
Jameson clenched his fists, gritting his teeth. "Are you trying to anger me to death so you can inherit my estate?"
"Old man, don't get it twisted."
Anton shrugged, grinning. "If I can turn into Batman in front of you, why couldn't someone else do the same?"
"What?"
Jameson didn't understand what Anton was getting at, but he suddenly realized that the night Anton had transformed into Batman, it hadn't seemed like a trick.
Then, there was only one truth! "There isn't just one Batman, there's a whole group of them!"
Jameson pointed at Anton, eyes wide.
At that moment, he felt a spotlight shining on him, making him feel like an actor playing Sherlock Holmes on a stage.
He didn't know that, in Anton's eyes, he was just a monster of overthinking. "Is that even how it works?"
Anton thought to himself. Seeing Jameson's smug expression, he decided to be respectful of his elders. He nodded obediently.
"So smart! Just as expected of you!"
On the other side.
Kler felt his body lighten. In the next moment, he was on an empty rooftop.
Batman was beside him.
Whoosh!
The wind howled.
The afternoon sun wasn't too harsh as it bathed them.
"This is Teleportation Technology!"
Kler exclaimed again, looking at Batman and Cyborg beside him, his eyes filled with intense longing.
However, he didn't say anything, suppressing his desire.
"Wait a moment, I'll have someone pick us up."
With that, he took out his phone and made a call.
Ten minutes later.
A helicopter flew in from the sky, arriving at the rooftop where they were.
"Where are we going?"
Batman asked.
"Sector 7 just found some leads, maybe we'll find who we're looking for."
Kler replied.
Who they were looking for?
Batman's avatar was thoughtful.
He knew very well that the "people" here, of course, did not refer to humans, but to aliens!
Soon.
The group arrived at a white residential area.
The helicopter landed on the road.
The area was already sealed off by Sector 7 agents, and all residents were ordered to stay inside.
At this moment, the residents were somewhat panicked, not understanding what they had encountered.
Thinking about the recent attacks in New York, they couldn't help but wonder if they were unlucky enough to experience something similar in Los Angeles.
Among them, a young man named Sam was quite anxious.
He knew why these people had come.
"My car!"
Sam hurried to the garage: "Is it you? Are they looking for you?"
Creak—
The garage door was suddenly smashed open.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa!"
Sam saw a group of men in black suits standing at the door and was a little annoyed. "Who are you? Are you trespassing?"
"Apologies, we have the authority to inspect everything in your house."
He was called Reggie Simmons, a senior agent of Sector 7.
At this moment, Simmons stared at Sam, expressionless, his tone harsh. "Furthermore, we can make you rot in prison for life. Therefore, I hope you'd better answer all my questions truthfully."
Sam's mouth twitched, the fear in his heart amplified, and his legs trembled.
"Are all of your people this rough?"
Suddenly, Sam heard another voice beside the group of men in black suits. He turned his head and was stunned.
"Ba... Batman?"
His eyes widened as if he had seen his idol, and his panic and fear immediately vanished.
