Chapter 87 - Swaggering Boldly

Inside the Kun-style fighter, a team of special forces soldiers was fully geared up and ready. Among them, Han Yu recognized two familiar faces — Captain America, and Natasha.

"When we go in, just follow our lead. Don't alarm the enemy, or they might kill the hostages," Natasha reminded Han Yu carefully.

"I think none of you actually need to come. Rogers and I are enough."

Han Yu spoke with a faint smile. If it weren't for the need to prove that Hydra had already infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D., and that Jasper was their embedded agent — something Captain America needed to witness personally — Han Yu could have handled everyone on that ship himself. But if he went alone, it would have aroused suspicion.

Naturally, Stark wouldn't be the one to come, and having Nick Fury show up personally would be far too high-profile.Bringing along the honest, incorruptible Captain America was the perfect choice.

"You're kidding, right? Look at those skinny arms and legs of yours — if you go alone, you'll get yourself killed."

Among the special forces soldiers, a man sneered disdainfully. His name was Rumlow, and he was the squad's leader.

Han Yu's eyes glimmered with amusement as he looked at Rumlow. This man, too, was a Hydra agent — though his identity hadn't been exposed yet.Once the Hydra situation was resolved, Han Yu had no intention of letting him live.

He still clearly remembered the original timeline: it was this man who went after a certain serum, and during his final fight with Captain America, he detonated the explosives on his own body.Wanda was forced to throw him into the sky — and that explosion killed several Wakandans. The split of the Avengers began from that single blast.

"Well then, want to spar a bit?" Han Yu said lightly, his tone dripping with mockery.

Rumlow glared, provoked. If they weren't in the middle of a mission, he would've already lunged at Han Yu.

It was a good thing he didn't — otherwise, there'd be one more corpse on the ground.Han Yu revealing his Hydra identity early wouldn't have mattered much anyway; with or without these soldiers, the mission would end the same.

Natasha gave Captain America a puzzled look. She found it strange that he didn't step in to ease the tension — surely he wouldn't allow this kind of conflict within his team?

Captain America remained silent. His heart sank.Han Yu wasn't someone who picked fights for no reason. If he was doing this, then there had to be something wrong with Rumlow.

Recalling what Han Yu had told them earlier, the truth clicked in Captain America's mind like ice water down his spine.

Rumlow… he's Hydra too?If even someone of his rank was a Hydra agent, then S.H.I.E.L.D. truly was on the brink of collapse.

His heart grew heavier. Rumlow's strike team was one of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s elite squads, with a long list of successful operations. But now, those missions might very well have been in service to Hydra.

"Steve, what's wrong? You look pale."

Natasha noticed something off and asked, though she assumed it was about his health or gear — she didn't lower her voice.

Everyone turned toward them. Captain America couldn't exactly say "Hydra's infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D." in front of the team.He took a deep breath and replied, "Nothing. Let's just carry out the mission."

He stepped forward and opened the hatch. Standing there alone, his back seemed somehow lonely.

"Let's go together."

A slender hand rested on his shoulder.Captain America turned to see Han Yu smiling warmly.

"You jump, I jump," Han Yu said with a grin.

The two exchanged a knowing smile — then leapt out together.

For some reason, Natasha suddenly felt… strangely shown up by the pair of them.

Only then did someone in the cabin react."Wait— did they even take parachutes?"

"I don't think so! That guy didn't have one either!"

Midair, Han Yu and Captain America plummeted toward the ocean.Under the control of his Green Lantern energy, Han Yu landed lightly on the ship's deck, while Captain America splashed into the water below.

"Let's wrap this up quickly."

Han Yu clenched his right hand. The blade Hyōrinmaru slowly manifested in his grip.He ran a finger along its edge and muttered to himself, "Old friend… it's been a while. Let's have some fun today."

The moment his words fell, Han Yu's figure vanished.A trail of white mist swept across the deck.Wherever it passed, a thin, pale mark appeared across an enemy's throat — followed by the dull thud of another body hitting the floor.

By the time Captain America climbed back onto the ship, corpses littered the deck.Han Yu sat off to the side, wiping the spotless blade with a torn piece of cloth — though there wasn't a single drop of blood on it to clean.

"That fast?" Captain America muttered. "I didn't even get to test out my new shield."

He sounded genuinely disappointed. He'd wanted a good chance to try his upgraded weapon, but by the time he'd pulled himself out of the water, the fight on deck was already over.

"Then let me handle the ones inside — don't steal my kills!"

Captain America dashed into the ship's interior like a student racing for lunch when the bell rings.

Han Yu chuckled, sheathing Hyōrinmaru, and followed behind.

Inside, Captain America fought faster than usual. When someone attacked, he raised his shield to block — instantly reflecting forty percent of the incoming damage. The reflected pain from their own strikes made the enemies hesitate for just a heartbeat.

That brief hesitation was all it took for death to claim them.

Han Yu and Captain America strode boldly down the corridor.

Han Yu glanced sideways at the grinning Captain and asked, "So? Feels good, right?"

"Good? It's amazing!" Captain America said enthusiastically. That "Thor-style" combat — throwing his shield and calling it back — was too satisfying. Now he finally understood why Thor loved his hammer so much.

That feeling of hurling your weapon and having it return — it was simply glorious.

They carved through the opposition until they reached the kitchen, where the hostages were held.Captain America stopped and whispered, "We can't move yet. Need to wait for… Rumlow's team."

Even knowing Rumlow was Hydra, there were still many innocent hostages inside.Aside from Jasper, the others didn't deserve to die, and Captain America would never risk their lives.

"What's the problem? Just go in."

Han Yu kicked the door open and strolled in casually, greeting everyone with a smile."Good evening, everyone."

The terrorists inside instantly panicked, turning their rifles toward him —but no matter how they tried, their fingers refused to pull the triggers.

Looking down, they realized in horror that their fingers — along with the triggers — were completely frozen solid.

"What the hell—?! I can't fire!"

"My fingers are frozen!"

"Mine too!"
