D'Addario adjusted her hair, tucking it behind her ears to reveal her snow-white swan-like neck. "Daoist priest, practicing dance every day for portraits is very hard."
Lin Chen lifted her chin and used a mysterious purification technique on her.
D'Addario immediately felt a sense of ease, as if all her fatigue had vanished.
"Hey, Daoist, I feel so relaxed. You're amazing!" D'Addario said with an admiring look.
In her heart she was thinking, This stinky Daoist is really strange!
He lifted my chin—I'll allow it!
Salty pig trotter!
Lin Chen couldn't hold back and smacked the back of her head.
Daddario cried out in pain. "Master, why did you hit me?"
"There are flies buzzing all the time."
Daddario's expression changed instantly, and she said softly, "Daoist, you're so kind to people."
Mela rolled her eyes. "Little green tea."
"Little? You're just jealous!"
Aquaman felt very uncomfortable. He quietly pulled Lin Chen aside.
"Daoist, you already have a lot of sisters. Let me have this one. We're four people—split into two pairs. Wouldn't that make a good story?"
Lin Chen nodded. "Go ahead and chase her. I'm not chasing her."
When they returned, Mela whispered, "What did Arthur say to you?"
"He asked me to let him pursue your sister, and I agreed."
"Hmph. You think I don't know? This little green tea has you in her heart. Her eyes are always on you."
Lin Chen smiled. "Mela, you didn't see the essence clearly. The one Anna likes isn't me."
Mela suddenly said, "It's not bad to bring her along. I also want an assistant. After Natasha Romanoff leaves, I'll learn properly."
"Then aren't you mine tonight?" Lin Chen hugged her waist and whispered.
"Get lost!" Mela hit him and looked at the navigator in her hand. "Hey, we're here. Not far now."
D'Addario looked at the dunes and yellow sand below. "There's nothing down there."
"The instrument shows it's here," Mela said as she opened the plane door. "Master, take me flying!"
Lin Chen walked over, hugged Mela's waist, and prepared to fly down.
D'Addario rushed over, hugged Lin Chen, and pressed herself tightly against him. "Master, take me flying too!"
Lin Chen was speechless. "Aren't you afraid of crushing me?"
Daddario said slyly, "You think I don't know? You're the hero who defeated Steppenwolf. I've known about you for a long time. I approached you on purpose. I'm actually your super fan."
Mela nodded. "So that's it. No wonder you insisted on repaying your kindness."
D'Addario was excited.
Haha, I'm so clever.
This way, all the inconsistencies before turn into reasonable actions.
It's really hard to keep playing his fangirl in the future.
I have to remember—just act, don't fall into it!
But his abs are really good!
Aquaman also wanted physical contact. "Master, I want to go with you too."
"Whoosh!" Lin Chen hugged the two women and flew off.
"Eh—ahhh!" Aquaman closed his eyes and jumped down himself.
The Black pilot was terrified watching the four.
"That man held two women and flew? Why did the stupid big guy jump too—committing suicide?"
Fortunately, he had already been paid.
Aquaman hit the ground, kicking up sand. After several groans, he spat out sand.
Mela had already started walking forward with the navigation device.
D'Addario began acting like a fangirl. "Daoist, you looked so handsome flying just now. That angle isn't something ordinary people can do."
But in her heart: Damn it, blocking the sand for me—is that something a person does?
If it weren't for… I'd definitely hit you!
Lin Chen ignored her and caught up with Mela, the two chatting and laughing.
Aquaman came over. "Ana, let me tell you a joke—"
Daddario ran ahead with a bottle of water. "Master, are you thirsty? Have some water."
Aquaman howled. "It's a sin! Since when did I become the spare tire!"
Mela led them for a while. "There was once a tribe of Atlantis people who lived in the Sahara. When there was no more water, they disappeared."
"The map shows it's right under our feet."
Aquaman, whose powers were blocked by magic, said, "It's all sand. Where would ruins come from? Let's go home."
He was in a bad mood. Beautiful women were scarce resources, and both Mela and D'Addario were top-tier.
"We're four people—should be two couples! Why don't I have one, but the Daoist priest gets wholesale!"
Lin Chen smiled slightly and leaned on Aquaman's shoulder. "Arthur, did you forget the princess of the Fisherman Kingdom? Once you take the throne, you can marry a rich beauty and reach the peak of life."
Aquaman secretly glanced at D'Addario. "Sigh… hard to let go."
Ana Daddario was also annoyed. Aquaman's resentful little eyes made her uncomfortable. She thought, We're all adults. If you don't like someone, you don't like them. Why be like this…
Aquaman stepped forward to speak, but suddenly slipped, screamed, and fell into the sand, disappearing.
Mela shook her head. "If he becomes king of Atlantis, it'll be chaos."
Lin Chen smiled. "Looks like the ruins are below. Let's go down too."
Mela jumped into his arms. "Daoist priest, carry me down."
Lin Chen shrugged. "Little goblin, you're so clingy," then jumped down.
Daddario had no choice but to follow.
The sand swallowed all four.
Lin Chen hugged Mela as they slid down the sand tunnel, Aquaman screaming ahead, D'Addario screaming behind.
Lin Chen rushed out of the sand path. Below was a bottomless cliff. He flew to the edge, holding Mela, and caught the still-screaming Daddario.
Daddario clung to him, her face full of fear, breathing heavily, heart pounding.
Aquaman walked over gloomily. His hero-saving-the-beauty moment had been stolen by the Daoist priest.
He went to a cave entrance and kicked away the stone blocking it.
They entered. Inside was a dry, abandoned city.
Mela looked around. "This is the armory. The legendary trident was forged here."
Aquaman walked to a stone grinder and examined the trident shape engraved on it. "Seems it's not just a legend—it's real."
Mela went to a dusty machine on a high platform, took out the small cylindrical tube Jiweike had given her, and inserted it. Nothing happened.
Aquaman said gloomily, "After so many years, it's probably rotted. There's no water here. I'm dying of thirst."
"No water? I see." Mela hugged Lin Chen's arm. "Master, give me some water."
Lin Chen shook his head. "Without Shui Xiao, figure it out yourself."
Mela looked around and called Aquaman over. "Come here."
"What do you want? Bloodletting?" Aquaman didn't move.
"What are you thinking? Since we're here, your brain is probably full of water. I'll help you draw some out."
Aquaman shook his head frantically. "Impossible!"
If he got labeled as "water in the brain," how could he face Sister Anna in the future? Too embarrassing—and she was still watching.
