"Aren't you the one who just had a bottle of water?" Aquaman suddenly remembered.
D'Addario spread her hands. "I gave the priest a few sips, and then I saw a cactus that looked like it was dying, so I poured the rest on it."
Aquaman pressed a hand to his forehead. A cactus dying in the desert?
The old saying was right—fierce but brainless.
Lin Chen shoved Aquaman aside. Mela's eyes turned blue, and she moved her hand to about ten centimeters in front of Aquaman's forehead.
A drop of water seeped out from Aquaman's head and floated in midair.
With a wave of Mela's hand, the droplet fell onto a cylinder, and gears began to turn.
It turned out the gear device was a projector. The projection showed the first king of Atlantis, rambling on.
"This trident holds extraordinary power. Go to the dark sea at the end of the world and find the sea route within the bottle…"
As a result, the other four were each doing their own thing.
Lin Chen and Mela chatted and laughed.
Aquaman meditated on the water that had come out of his head.
D'Addario, very down-to-earth, was working hard as a "treasure captain," hoping to pick up valuable items to sell as subsidies.
Aquaman stared at Lin Chen and Mela. "Can't you pay attention to the lesson? What if you forget the clues?"
Lin Chen took out his phone. "There's something these days called video recording on a mobile phone."
Mela looked at Aquaman. "Do you remember it?"
"Of course I remember!" Aquaman turned his head and walked off.
Lin Chen took out a wine bottle from the mechanism. Inside was a map.
Destination: Sicily.
"Sicily again? Looks like I need to make a phone call." Lin Chen smiled faintly.
Mela fell silent, then suddenly raised her head. "That little vixen from the Holy See?!"
D'Addario's ears twitched. The Holy See? Could this guy be connected to them? I must find out.
She hadn't found anything useful and had been frustrated, but now she brightened at the new lead.
Lin Chen was about to leave. He glanced at D'Addario, who was wearing a stone mold shaped like a trident, and the corners of his mouth twitched. "What are you doing?"
D'Addario smiled. "This stone's material looks good. It can be sold for money."
Lin Chen shook his head. "I mean, you're a woman carrying a few hundred pounds of rock without even breathing hard. Is that normal?"
D'Addario's heart skipped. How had she forgotten that?
With a bright smile, she turned to Aquaman, looking delicate. "Arthur, my hand hurts, and my waist is sore."
Aquaman hurried over, catching the stone mold. "I've got it, I've got it."
Lin Chen shook his head. "Wait. I'm flying you all to the coast. If you want to walk by yourselves, take this stone along. Walking half a month without water or food, you shouldn't die, right?"
Aquaman immediately threw the stone down.
D'Addario's treasure-hunting career came to an abrupt end. She felt her funds were seriously insufficient.
Lin Chen looked at her. "Do you want this stone?"
D'Addario shook her head quickly. "No."
Lin Chen nodded, touched the stone, and stored it in his spatial ring. He had just discovered the material was excellent—perfect for use as an eye formation core.
D'Addario was dumbfounded.
"Master, you—?"
"You said you didn't want it. I think it's good, so of course I'm keeping it."
D'Addario stomped her foot, nearly coming to blows with Lin Chen, complaining furiously in her heart.
What a schemer!
I've never seen anyone this shameless!
For a pretty girl like me, it's easy to make some money!
You look at the stone but not at me? How blind are you?
The four arrived outside the dunes. Lin Chen grabbed one person in each hand and was about to fly off when Aquaman hurriedly clutched Lin Chen's leg.
Whoosh!
They flew north, crossing the Sahara and arriving at coastal cities along the Mediterranean in Tunisia, North Africa.
They boarded a cruise ship. In two days, they could reach Sicily.
Lin Chen booked three deluxe rooms, claiming it was all for tourism.
As for the cost, Aquaman fumbled uselessly.
D'Addario declared she was bankrupt and that the priest still owed her money for the stone mold.
Lin Chen hooked a finger, went out to the deck, and called Malena.
"Brother Aniu, you finally contacted me," Malena complained.
"Big sister, I'll be in Catania, a coastal city in Sicily, in two days."
Malena was excited. "Brother Aniu, I'm also in Catania. The Holy See is holding an event."
"Really? Then maybe I shouldn't look for you," Lin Chen laughed.
"Hmph! If you don't come see me, you're dead!" Malena was clearly jealous.
"Put on your makeup properly. There's a Holy See event here. Lots of eyes watching," Malena urged.
"Got it."
That day on the ship, Lin Chen chatted with Mela all night, leaving her exhausted.
Two days later, Mela yawned as they disembarked. Lin Chen had disguised himself; unfamiliar people wouldn't recognize him.
Catania was lively. The Holy See was holding a large-scale celebration.
The most beautiful flower of the Holy See—the Holy Maiden—was also present. She stood on a float, waving to the onlookers.
"The Holy Maiden is so beautiful!"
"The dream of all European men—truly extraordinary!"
"With that figure and charm, what a pity she's a nun."
"I'd kneel for her for ten years!"
"I heard she's involved with a Daoist priest."
"Ha, I really envy that Daoist priest!"
Lin Chen blended into the crowd, watching the procession, his eyes locked on Malena.
She wore a black robe and black headscarf, yet her seductive aura was impossible to hide.
Malena also spotted Lin Chen in the crowd at a glance. She glanced his way several times, faint affection in her eyes.
"Wow! The Holy Maiden smiled at me—I'm going to die!" A man beside Lin Chen misunderstood and nearly fainted.
Several other men's legs went weak.
Aquaman sighed. "That style, that feeling—why is she the Daoist's girl!"
Lin Chen patted his shoulder. "Brother, watch your words. She's a nun."
Aquaman almost fought him. "You've got the nerve to say that…"
D'Addario was stunned.
A beauty with this temperament likes this shameless guy?
He's just handsome!
Is she blind?
I don't believe it. Maybe he has some deal with the Holy See.
Lin Chen took Mela shopping, bought her a big bouquet of flowers and lots of fruit.
As evening fell, they planned to place the bottle the next morning and stay one night in Sicily.
Back at the hotel, Lin Chen continued chatting with Mela.
Around nine in the evening, Lin Chen looked at Mela asleep and quietly got up.
Humming a tune, he washed up, dressed neatly, and slipped out of the hotel.
D'Addario followed from a distance. Hmph, I'm going to uncover your secret tonight.
Lin Chen first went to a local restaurant, packed some food, bought a bottle of red wine, and then leisurely walked toward the residential area near the monastery.
"Is he going to worship God? So devout?" D'Addario was extremely puzzled.
