Chapter 225 - Mela and the Nun Fight — While the Little “Green Tea” Tries to Make a Move on the Taoist Priest

Lin Chen was speechless. Trying this hard to put on an act—what's the point?

Over there, Aquaman had already started fighting Black Manta. The two exchanged blows, hitting and being hit in turn.

Black Manta pulled out a short sword forged from Atlantean steel and stabbed at Aquaman.

"You bleed too! You'll pay for my father's life!"

Aquaman grabbed a stone bench and smashed it down, knocking Black Manta to the ground.

"Hey!" Black Manta's eyes fired laser beams, blasting the stone bench in Aquaman's hands and sending him flying.

Aquaman shot straight off the mountaintop and crashed through the roof of an old woman's house.

Black Manta flew down after him, and the two continued fighting, smashing the poor old lady's home to pieces.

Lin Chen flew down as well, carrying Mela and D'Addario. Seeing the gaping hole in the roof and the wrecked interior, he took out a stack of U.S. dollars—ten thousand in total—and handed it to the old woman.

When D'Addario saw this, she suddenly said, "Master, lend me some money."

"What for?"

"Someone broke that uncle's wall last night. I'll pay to have it repaired."

Lin Chen nodded. "Your character is really good. Much better than the person who broke the wall."

D'Addario rolled her eyes.

Lin Chen handed her another stack of cash.

Looking at the $10,000 in her hand, her thoughts became active again.

Why does he trust me so much? What if I run away with the money?

No way this sugar-coated bullet will corrupt me.

I'm good-looking. No matter how much money there is, I won't fall.

That uncle needs at most one thousand. I can keep the other nine!

Return it? I earned it with my ability—why should I give it back? Hee hee.

Lin Chen felt helpless. It's only ten thousand dollars—how hard has this girl's life been? Seems even demigods don't have it easy.

D'Addario took the money and left through the window.

Lin Chen took Mela and walked out the door.

Aquaman and Black Manta were still brawling in the seaside plaza.

Nearby vendors were so frightened they dropped their goods and ran.

The red-armored warriors Mela had knocked down earlier got up and began firing lasers at Lin Chen.

"Interesting. Not happy I let you go?"

Lin Chen waved his hand. Gravel burst up, and countless small stones smashed into their helmet visors, shattering them. Water inside the armor drained out.

Unlike royal Atlanteans like Mela, these sea warriors couldn't survive long on land.

They screamed and ran everywhere looking for water—some dove into pools, some into buckets. The most impressive one found a toilet and stuck his head in without hesitation.

Well, that sure smelled like the sea. The world returned to peace.

Mela pointed at Aquaman. "Master, should we help?"

Lin Chen shook his head. "No need. Our trouble is here."

From a cathedral near the square, over a dozen knights wielding cross swords rushed out. Leading them was a valiant Malena in chain mail.

"Lin Chen, come with me to the Holy See for judgment!" Malena pointed her sword at him.

The knights drew their swords, tense. The man before them had defeated Steppenwolf.

Mela was stunned. "That little vixen betrayed us? Isn't she your woman?"

Lin Chen shook his head, stepped forward, and blocked Mela behind him. "Malena, I was just a little mean to you, and you want to deal with me?"

Malena's gaze was icy. "You scoundrel! You tried to take advantage of me and smear the Holy See!"

"I may have many girls, but I was sincere to you," Lin Chen said with a straight face.

Malena hesitated for a moment, then stomped her foot. "No! I've dedicated my life to the Holy See!"

The crowd buzzed with gossip. Nobody was watching Aquaman fight anymore—the scandal between the Taoist priest and the Holy See was far more entertaining.

Mela's eyelids twitched. "What are these two even doing?"

Malena leaped and thrust her sword. "Die, scumbag!"

Clang!

Lin Chen met her with the Tianshi Sword. The two fought back and forth.

Malena's sword techniques were swift. Her cross sword released a two-meter blade aura that formed a sword net around Lin Chen.

He dodged every time with agility, flipping backward to avoid a sweeping strike.

The other knights exchanged looks and charged.

Lin Chen tossed out dozens of small stones.

Boom!

In a burst of smoke, dozens of Yellow Turban Warriors appeared and engaged the knights.

Lin Chen whispered, "Darling, your legs are really straight."

"Your abs aren't bad either."

He noticed bruises on Malena's knees. "Who hurt you like that?"

Malena glared. "I really want to cut you right now!"

They advanced and retreated in rhythm.

Mela fumed. "Is this a fight or a dance?!"

Her eyes glowed blue as she shouted.

Water from a fountain surged up, forming over a dozen ice arrows that shot at the knights.

"Ah!" Several knights were struck and fell screaming.

Three arrows shot at Malena. Her sword flared with dazzling light and shattered them.

"Demon woman! You dare attack me? Today I'll show you this saint's power!"

Malena turned her attack toward Mela.

Lin Chen pretended to slip, avoiding involvement.

Mela and Malena fought—one a mage, one a knight—perfectly matched.

Lin Chen found himself with nothing to do and no good way to intervene.

D'Addario sneaked in, grabbed an iron rod, and attacked the knights from behind.

Bang, bang—several knights were knocked unconscious.

"Another heretic! Surround her!"

The remaining knights targeted the "soft persimmon."

"Do you think I'm easy to bully?" D'Addario was young, not as strong as a demigod like Diana, but still far beyond ordinary knights.

She leapt up, kicked one over, punching and kicking. The knights were beaten badly.

Clap! Clap!

Lin Chen applauded.

D'Addario inwardly cursed, then turned and said sweetly, "Master, seeing them gang up on you, I don't know why, but my body filled with strength."

Lin Chen shook his head. "I think it's just the headlights being dazzling."

"You!"

Lin Chen continued, "I seem to be short of a chore worker. Want the job? Five hundred dollars a month, food and lodging included."

I finally got into his house! D'Addario was ecstatic. She rushed over, hugged Lin Chen, and kissed him. "Daoist, I'm willing!"

This seemed to kick a hornet's nest.

Aquaman roared, kicked Black Manta over, and stomped him hard.

"I told you not to mess around!"

"I told you to stop resisting!"

Black Manta wanted to cry but had no tears. Why had Aquaman's anger suddenly exploded?

Mela and Malena both stepped back, glaring at D'Addario simultaneously.

"This little green tea is too much! While we were fighting, she actually made a move on the Taoist priest!"
