Looking at Malena lying limply there, he said, "Originally, offending me would be enough to get you killed. But for the sake of doing some good deeds, I'll spare your life. Reflect on yourself."
The surrounding onlookers buzzed with discussion.
"What great mercy!"
"Not destroying a beauty with his hands—the Daoist truly has virtue."
"The Holy Maiden is also a good person. She often helps poor elders and children."
"The rumors online saying they're involved—I think they're all fake!"
Over there, Aquaman had already knocked Black Manta off the cliff. He was gravely injured and unconscious.
Lin Chen gave him another beating, then took Mela and the others toward the yacht area.
Malena clutched her chest and shouted from behind, "Lin Chen, I won't let you go!"
Mela rolled her eyes. "She deserves an award—a golden statue."
Lin Chen led them to a medium-sized yacht, tossed Aquaman onto the deck, skillfully took a spare key from a hidden compartment, and drove the yacht away.
D'Addario found it strange. "Master, is the owner of this yacht your friend?"
Lin Chen shook his head. "On the contrary. It belongs to the Bishop of Catania."
D'Addario clapped her hands. "The Daoist priest is indeed a real man!"
During the break yesterday, Malena had told Lin Chen that the fat, big-eared bishop in his forties bragged about his yacht being in great condition, fully fueled, and had wanted to invite her out to sea.
Lin Chen had made sure the man wouldn't be going out to sea anytime soon.
After steering the yacht out of the bay, Lin Chen slapped a few healing talismans onto Aquaman and threw him into a small cabin inside.
Then he began teaching D'Addario some basic yacht-handling skills.
"Master, you're so kind to me, teaching me this," she said, deeply moved.
Lin Chen nodded. "Have you learned?"
"More or less. You taught very carefully."
"Good. Then you steer according to the map."
He pulled Mela along. "Let's go rest. We just went around and beat up Zheng Xiao."
D'Addario complained inwardly.
You call that tiring?
You didn't even break a sweat after that fight, okay?
I almost want to drive the yacht into an iceberg and let us all die together.
She didn't know why she was so annoyed.
They sailed like this for many days, refueling several times along the way.
One day, Mela made delicious food for everyone, and Lin Chen grilled some fish.
D'Addario drooled. "Master, can I?"
After getting permission, she grabbed a fish and devoured it.
"Wow!" After finishing one, she was full of satisfaction. "Daoist, why is your grilled fish so delicious?"
"Talent."
Aquaman had recovered. He took a fish too. The taste was great, but his heart felt bitter as he saw D'Addario looking at Lin Chen with admiration.
"Master, can the police still live like this?"
Lin Chen shook his head. "Whether people live or not doesn't matter."
Boom!
Thunder roared ahead. Dark clouds pressed down as if the ship were heading to the end of the world.
Lin Chen stood. "Attention. We're almost there. Be careful of sea monsters."
"Monsters?" D'Addario was puzzled.
"Trench creatures," Mela explained.
The yacht entered the storm zone. The four hid in the wheelhouse as waves tossed the vessel.
A flash of lightning revealed a murloc-like monster leaping onto the boat. It looked around, let out a low roar, its claws sharp.
D'Addario trembled. "That thing is so ugly!"
Aquaman hurled a harpoon, skewering the monster and knocking it back into the sea.
"Don't worry, I'll protect you!"
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Before he finished, countless Trench monsters surged up from the sea, staring with beastlike eyes, drool splattering from their mouths.
Mela's eyes glowed. Jets of water blasted out, washing many back into the ocean.
But more climbed aboard. Lightning flashed. Their scalps went numb.
The sea below was packed with monsters as far as the eye could see.
D'Addario's face turned pale. "Waaah, I don't want to die here!"
Aquaman was about to comfort her.
Instead, she threw herself into Lin Chen's arms. "Master, I'm scared!"
Lin Chen felt her fear—no, her mental rant.
What do I do? I haven't even been with a man yet!
Dying like this is such a loss!
If I'd known, I would've gotten the Daoist drunk days ago!
What if we die together and get reincarnated as siblings?!
Lin Chen was speechless at her flood of thoughts.
He patted her back. "Don't worry. You won't die."
He looked at Mela. "Tell me—what are these monsters most afraid of?"
"They live in the deep sea. They fear light—and even more, fire!"
Lin Chen nodded. He drew the Heavenly Master Sword and threw a Fire Dragon Talisman into the sky.
Boom!
A flame dragon dozens of meters long roared out, dyeing the sky red with intense heat.
The Trench monsters screamed, eyes shut. Some caught fire!
Their bodies were coated in grease that helped them swim fast—now it made them burn faster.
They dove back into the sea, furious but unwilling to leave, waiting for the fire dragon to vanish.
D'Addario asked worriedly, "Master, what now?"
"What now? Time to boil some crayfish."
With a wave, the fire dragon plunged into the sea.
Its power didn't weaken; instead, it instantly boiled the surrounding seawater.
The Trench monsters screamed, their bodies turning red—like boiled crayfish.
Gulu gulu—the sea boiled continuously.
The water around the yacht turned crimson. Tens of thousands of Trench monsters became boiled seafood.
The remaining ones panicked and fled into the deep sea.
Lin Chen dispersed the fire dragon.
The sea temperature gradually fell.
"Alright. The trident is below. Let's dive."
D'Addario remembered the monsters and hesitated. "Why don't I stay on the boat?"
Aquaman wanted to persuade her too.
Lin Chen nodded, handed her a flare gun. "If they come back, fire this and hold on until we return."
Her face went pale. "Master… when will you come back?"
"Not sure. Maybe a few hours."
"Then I'll already be dessert! I'm going down with you!"
Mela asked, "Can your body handle seabed pressure? Can you breathe underwater?"
D'Addario had to reveal a bit. "Well… I actually know a little."
Mela rolled her eyes. "You really have too many secrets."
