Solstice flew towards the Sun Guardian, evading its beams while unleashing blasts of fire. They exchanged attacks in mid-air, devastating the landscape beneath them. Solstice could recall only one other battle of such magnitude.
It was the crusade against the Sun Dragon. Thousands of knights had marched against it, and a great many had fallen.
He surged forward, enduring the Guardian's beams as he closed the distance. His dragon body offered considerable resistance, but even his scales eventually began to burn. By then, however, he was close enough to swing his tail.
The Sun Guardian barely had time to react.
The massive tail strike sent it crashing into the ground, leaving an enormous crater. Solstice dived after it, breathing fire into the crater throughout his descent.
His flames kept the Guardian pinned down long enough for him to land and sink his claws into its body. He continued blasting fire from his maw while trying to tear through the metal with his claws.
