Chapter 279: Zygarde
Ryan encountered Alexa here, feeling a touch of curiosity, yet also finding it somewhat reasonable. Alexa was Viola's older sister, so it wasn't too strange for her to come to her sister's place. However, he hadn't expected that Alexa would be chasing Yellow and Silver so relentlessly, leaving them in a chaotic mess.
Seeing the two of them struggling to deal with Naganadel's venom, they were probably truly driven to desperation before turning on Alexa.
Ryan extended his hand to Alexa and said, "You must be Reporter Alexa, it's a pleasure to meet you. An interview is no problem, but could you wait a moment while I catch this little guy?"
Alexa was immediately excited to hear that Ryan was willing to be interviewed. It's worth noting that since becoming the president of the Mercenary Guild, Ryan had never given an interview, even during the Rainbow Gathering when reporters went to great lengths to find him, only to be turned down by him.
But now that Ryan has accepted Alexa's interview, the shrewd female reporter Alexa immediately felt that this was a big news story.
Despite her excitement, Alexa cautiously asked, "Okay, thank you for your cooperation, President Ryan. But President Ryan, are those two people really from your Mercenary Guild? Why didn't they follow the guild's principles and use a Poké Ball to catch this Pokémon?"
Ryan remained silent, but Lillie stepped forward and explained, "Regarding that, we weren't capturing the Pokémon. It's that Ryan wanted to catch it, so our subordinates helped him find it. They didn't mistreat it; they wanted to keep it for Ryan to capture. Our Mercenary Guild is very principled in this regard and wouldn't do what evil organizations do."
Lillie's words didn't affect Alexa's judgment. She asked Ryan, "May I ask who this is?"
"Oh, this is my fiancée, and also my secretary. We've already had an engagement ceremony, but we haven't announced it yet. That's all for now. If you, Alexa, are worried, you can stay and watch how I capture this Pokémon. I won't use any items; it's just a pure Pokémon battle," Ryan said calmly.
After speaking, Ryan took out the Zygarde Cube from his backpack and waved it in front of the Core. The Core was immediately attracted to the Zygarde Cube. Although it didn't know what it was, the Core could clearly sense that it would be of great benefit to it. The Core immediately cried out anxiously, eager to obtain the Zygarde Cube from Ryan.
"Want it? I can give it to you, but the condition is that you fight me. Win or lose, I will give it to you. However, if you lose, you will become my Pokémon. If you win, you can have it, and I will let you go. How about that? Pretty good deal, right?"
The Zygarde Cube swayed left and right in front of the Core, and the Core's head swayed along with it, just like a cat begging for food. It seemed that the Zygarde Cube was quite attractive to the Core.
The Core kept crying out, amused by Ryan, until it finally nodded and agreed to fight Ryan.
"Alright, since we're going to fight, this place is far too small. Let's battle in the open; you don't want to damage this place, do you?"
Seeing that the Core had agreed, Ryan immediately stuffed the Zygarde Cube into his backpack. The Core, realizing its desired item had disappeared, finally came to its senses. However, the Core was quite confident in its strength; as the overseer of the ecosystem, it couldn't possibly assume this role without considerable power! If it could defeat this human, it would gain both freedom and something extremely useful—a win-win situation!
"Thud." Ryan released his control over the Core, which immediately fell to the ground with a thud, clearly stunned. Ryan beckoned to the Core, then led Lillie and Alexa towards the outskirts of Santalune City.
The Core grunted on the ground, then, as if receiving a command, a dozen tiny green Cells gradually converged on it from various corners of the city. Soon, the 10% Forme of Zygarde took shape. Zygarde shook its head, adjusting to its new body, then rapidly moved its limbs, chasing after Ryan and the others.
Yellow and Silver stared in disbelief at the drastically changed Core, taking a long time to react. Silver clicked his tongue and said, "Wow, no wonder the boss wanted to catch it. These Cells are indeed widely distributed and hidden so deeply, even in this city, there are so many."
Yellow remained silent. Although he had joined the Mercenary Guild and become Ryan's subordinate, his fighting spirit to challenge Ryan would not easily dissipate!
"Let's go, follow them and see how strong the boss is now," Yellow said, watching Zygarde run out of Santalune City, and then immediately followed. Silver shook his head, wanting to say something, but in the end, it turned into a sigh, and then he caught up with Yellow.
In its 10% Forme, Zygarde resembled a Doberman Pinscher, with eyes like hexagons that shimmered with white light. The markings on its body were green hexagons. The green "collar-like object" around its neck looked like a jewel-encrusted collar or scarf, and its left front paw had half green markings.
Arriving at a clearing in the countryside of Santalune City, a gentle breeze rustled the earth, carrying the fragrance of flowers. Looking at the open space before him, Ryan said calmly, "This will do. So, are you underestimating me by only maintaining 10% of your Forme?"
Ryan turned to look at Zygarde, who had followed him in its Doberman form. Zygarde's white hexagonal eyes stared directly at Ryan. The two stared at each other, while Alexa fiddled with her camera equipment, wanting to record this rare scene.
Zygarde shook its head, then let out a long howl. Countless tiny green Cells surged from the forest, the grass, and the earth, rushing towards Zygarde. As Zygarde absorbed these Cells, its body gradually grew taller, rapidly expanding from a little over half a meter in height to a colossal five meters in size.
But this wasn't the end. The Doberman-shaped Zygarde gradually dissolved, and slowly, a serpentine Zygarde appeared before everyone, astonishing them!
