Chapter 195 - Chapter 195 Siren Killer

Letting Elisande go did not mean Gale didn't take the Naga's existence seriously.

The natural advantages of the Naga would undoubtedly become an obstacle for the Imperial Navy. Therefore, a way had to be found to deter the Naga, preventing them from approaching the navy's fleet.

Male Naga could be dealt with by ballistas; they were only melee units, and no matter how strong they grew, they couldn't withstand ballista attacks. However, their speed in the sea was very fast, which made shooting them difficult.

Currently, the navy's ballistas were operated by Sentry Shooters, so there was no immediate concern. However, there were only so many Sentry Shooters, and it was impossible to assign all of them to the navy.

Training Sentry Shooters took a relatively long time, and it simply couldn't keep up with the expansion speed of the navy, nor could it compare to the reproduction rate of the Naga. So, a solution had to be found through weaponry, such as installing aiming scopes on ballistas or enchanting long spear arrows with guidance capabilities.

Aiming scopes were not very useful for Kaldorei, as all Kaldorei could cast small spells. All Kaldorei proficient in archery could cast small spells like Aimed Shot, making aiming scopes more of a hindrance.

Enchanting long spear arrows with guidance capabilities was a direction, but long spear arrows were consumables, and spending precious enchanting materials on them was truly a waste of resources.

It would be better to create some recyclable arrows, enchant them, and reuse them repeatedly.

With a clear idea, Gale immediately began preparations.

Currently, the strongest guidance enchantment was the Meteor Strike on the suramar javelin. Meteor Strike was a rune set that, when activated, not only made the suramar javelin as fast as a meteor but also provided target-locking capabilities.

The long spear arrows Gale intended to create were an upgraded version of the suramar javelin, with the addition of a recycling enchantment.

Recycling enchantment was not a new technology; Gale had used this technology when creating the witch's cloak. However, the Darkwalker's Blade on the witch's cloak was relatively small, while the suramar javelin was relatively large, and the power of the rune set also needed to be increased.

Increasing the power of the rune set was not difficult for Gale; he could perform a permanent enchantment, which would not only reduce the number of runes for the rune enchantment but also allow the long spear arrows to return to a designated location.

Since they were recyclable long spear arrows, the materials had to be carefully considered. The first choice for the spear shaft was branches from Shaladrassil. Since being irrigated with Arcane, Shaladrassil was transforming into an Arcane Tree, becoming a rather unconventional World Tree.

When Cenarius went to Mount Hyjal through the Titan Portal, he was very angry about this. He wanted to confront Gale, but Shaladrassil's joyful mood made him lose interest, so he simply stayed on Mount Hyjal out of sight, out of mind, and never returned.

Shaladrassil became Aeon's territory.

During the war, Aeon transformed the souls of many fallen into little sprites, spending their days playing and frolicking on Shaladrassil. When they rested, they would land on Shaladrassil's branches, appearing like stars at night.

After the Bearman moved to the Dream Forest, they often mistook the little sprites for real stars, so they called Shaladrassil the Star Tree.

Gale teleported to Shala'nil, and Shaladrassil was happy to see him return. But after hearing Gale's request, it immediately refused.

It could spare one or two branches, but Gale wanted too many.

Gale took out the eternal holy grail, "If you don't give them, there will be no more Arcane rain in the future."

Shaladrassil was extremely conflicted; it had already enjoyed the refreshing sensation of Arcane rain, and without it, how could it live?

Aeon flew down and helped persuade, "Give some branches to Master, and I will help you recover then!"

With Aeon's assurance, Shaladrassil reluctantly allowed Gale to cut off some branches. Gale happily cut enough material for about a hundred long spear arrows, then gave Shaladrassil an Arcane rain as compensation.

Then, he handed the remaining compensation to Aeon and teleported back to Nordrassil.

He called Luna and activated the Rainbow Bridge again, teleporting to Gale's Tower.

Magical metals could not only be used to forge and repair weapons but also to create magical materials, so they were consumed the most. The remaining inventory from the war was also used up during the construction of Nordrassil.

Gale came this time to clear out Gale's Tower's inventory. At the same time, he brought Luna along to save her the trouble of flying back herself.

Luna did not enter the tower but instead rode Smaug directly to begin patrolling Redridge Mountain. However, Gale knew she was probably thinking of Salador and had gone to Vashj'ir.

Gale ignored her and went directly to find Sethonis.

Sethonis was busy, and Gale, after some thought, did not disturb him, going directly to the underground warehouse.

The Mages on duty saw Gale and quickly saluted.

"The mine has recovered?" Gale looked in surprise at the continuous stream of ore being transported by Earth Elements, "Were these mining areas affected?"

The Mages on duty: "They were indeed affected somewhat, but the impact was not significant. Just some rocks rolled down from the mountain into the mining area; after we moved the rocks, we found the mining area had expanded."

Gale was pleasantly surprised, "This is good news."

Entering the underground warehouse, Gale checked the inventory of metal ingots, which was less than expected. He didn't pay too much attention to it; after all, the mine had been shut down for a period, so a shortage was understandable.

He found some thorium ingot and orichalcum ingot. It seemed the Mages of Gale's Tower had not been lazy; the arcane crystal extracted had been refined into orichalcum ingot.

Returning to the first underground floor, Gale requisitioned a magic furnace, melted the thorium ingot and orichalcum ingot together, and then used the hammer of khaz'goroth to forge them into a spearhead shape.

Then, he engraved the Meteor Strike rune set onto it and enchanted it using an arcane gem.

Finally, he pressed the spearhead and spear shaft together, then used the hammer of khaz'goroth to change the properties of the connection point, fusing the spear shaft and spearhead into one, making them inseparable.

After completion, Gale permanently enchanted it with the recycling magic.

He made a long box to hold the long spear arrows and bound the recycling magic within the box.

Gale ascended to the top of the tower, loaded a long spear arrow onto the ballista on the tower's peak, and aimed it at the sea to the north. He sent out an Arcane Eye to scout, and relaying through the Arcane Eye, Gale aimed at a large fish and pulled the trigger.

The long spear arrow transformed into a meteor, striking directly into the large fish. A few seconds later, the recycling magic activated, and the long spear arrow disappeared into the seawater.

When it reappeared, it had returned to the box, still dripping water.

Gale picked up the long spear arrow, "With such a sharp weapon, even if Elisande were hit, she would at least lose a layer of skin if not die. Using it against the Naga is indeed overkill, but who told you that its purpose was to deal with them!"

"Since Elisande calls herself the Queen of Sirens, then you shall be called Sea Monster Killer!"

"I hope Elisande's face looks better when she meets you!"
