After being chased away by Gale and Maiev, Haka the Soulflayer wandered in the void.
Relying on his powerful divine power, he did not die in the void, but the harsh environment of the void tormented him.
Because no living beings existed, Hakkar could only survive by absorbing energy from the void.
For Hakkar, the souls and flesh of living beings were a delicious feast, while void energy was like month-old junk food; he would only grudgingly consume it to survive when starving.
For over a thousand years, he yearned for Azeroth every day, longing for fresh souls and flesh.
Meanwhile, in Azeroth, the Hakkari Tribe was not faring well.
When Hakkar was present, they were arrogant and oppressed other tribes.
Without Hakkar's protection, other tribes naturally sought to retaliate and exact their revenge.
The Trolls in the tribe either died or fled, and they could only rely on deceiving some elderly Trolls, abandoned by other tribes, to ensure the tribe's survival.
These disillusioned old Trolls had all been glorious in their youth and constantly dreamed of regaining their former glory.
Thus, they regarded Hakkar as their last resort, tirelessly promoting Hakkar in ZulGurub.
The Gurubashi Trolls also had other loa, including Bwonsamdi the loa of Death, Gonk the loa of the Hunt (Raptor), Shirvallah (Tiger), Heshisi (Serpent), Bethekk (Panther), Shadra (Spider), Hireek (Bat), Samedi (loa of Graves), Sangoya (loa of Storms), Lukou (loa of Healing and Comfort), Dambala (Serpent), Muhamba (Crocodile), Sulkaru (Gorilla), Boggya'arn (Cougar), and more than ten other loa.
However, Bwonsamdi and Gonk were in Zandalar, and Shadra had been killed before the War of the Ancients.
Most of the other loa were worshipped by the Bloodscalp and Darkspear tribes; their weak power was not recognized by the Gurubashi Trolls.
Only Shirvallah, Heshisi, Bethekk, and Hireek were recognized as loa by the Gurubashi Empire.
Among them, Hireek was weak in power and could only be responsible for reconnaissance and assassination, unable to participate in frontal combat.
Heshisi and Bethekk were also more skilled in hunting, useful in the jungle, and remarkably effective against enemies unfamiliar with jungle warfare.
However, the Elves Rangers had thousands of years of jungle combat experience, had faced Heshisi and Bethekk's hunts multiple times, and were already familiar with their combat methods.
Hireek's assassinations were even more thoroughly understood; as soon as a bat appeared nearby, an arrow would immediately strike it down, giving Hireek no chance to approach.
The Bloodscalp and Darkspear tribes were both relatively powerful tribes; they had already left ZulGurub and had their own cities.
In the western part of Stranglethorn Vale, the Bloodscalp Tribe established ZulKunda.
ZulKunda suffered heavy damage during the explosion of the Well of Eternity and the Cataclysm, with most of the city destroyed.
Over the years, they had been continuously restoring ZulKunda's buildings and dealing with difficult elemental creatures.
The Darkspear Tribe, on the other hand, lived in the southern part of Stranglethorn Vale, guarding the Gurubashi Arena.
The Gurubashi Arena was a tradition of the Gurubashi Trolls for thousands of years; every year, many warriors would come here to compete, and only the strongest warriors could take the treasure in the center of the arena.
Like the Bloodscalp Tribe, the explosion of the Well of Eternity and the Cataclysm tore apart the land around the Gurubashi Arena, almost threatening its safety.
Relying on numerous loa, the Darkspear Tribe successfully dealt with the elemental creatures' attacks, but then had to face another enemy.
A snake-bodied species, they called themselves Naga.
The Naga occupied the bay north of the Gurubashi Arena, establishing a large base on the many islands in the bay.
The Darkspear Tribe was no match for these amphibious creatures and could only strictly defend the land, preventing them from threatening the Gurubashi Arena.
Therefore, these two large tribes had no spare forces to send troops to fight the Elves.
Under internal and external troubles, more and more Trolls in ZulGurub believed the Drakkari Tribe's claims.
Seeing the Drakkari Tribe gradually growing stronger, the Gurubashi Chief and Shirvallah could not sit still; they decided to launch a major counterattack to secure a victory and calm the people's hearts.
Thus, the Chief gathered thirty thousand Trolls and a thousand dependents of the four loa, quietly came to Sunshine Forest, and launched a surprise attack on West Wilderness.
West Wilderness had abundant mineral resources and land, highly favored by the pioneering lords.
All pioneering lords competed to develop here, so only powerful nobles could secure good locations, while the weaker ones were squeezed into Ai Er Wen Forest and Stillwater Lake.
The Trolls also knew the importance of West Wilderness, so they chose it as their primary target for the surprise attack.
To prevent the navy from providing support, the Troll Army quickly passed through the river and immediately rushed to the nearest castle.
Shirvallah directly made his move, breaking through the castle gate, allowing the Troll Army to directly invade the city.
The nobles in the city still wanted to cast spells to attack, but their leader was assassinated by Hireek, and the mage team directly collapsed.
The Elves could not resist and could only retreat from the back door of the castle.
Fortunately, all the Elves in the castle were combat personnel, each with combat capabilities, so they were not completely annihilated by the Trolls.
Shirvallah ordered Bethekk to pursue the fleeing Elves, then he and the Gurubashi Chief went to attack the next castle.
In three days, they had breached five castles and killed over a thousand Elves.
The Chief and Shirvallah both beamed with pride; since the war with the Elves began, they had never achieved such a large number of enemy kills.
However, good times did not last long.
On the fourth day, when attacking the castle, lightning suddenly flashed in the sky, and a lightning elemental descended from the sky, cutting off the Troll Army.
Since arriving in Stormwind City, Nordrassil had not personally entered the fray.
He was proud of his status and disdained to act against ordinary Trolls, but now that the Troll loa had been dispatched, he had personally rushed to provide support.
"Nordrassil!!!"
The Elves in the castle cheered loudly.
The Gurubashi Chief looked at Shirvallah, and Shirvallah looked at Hireek.
Hireek shrunk her neck, "He has never been on the battlefield, so I didn't get any intelligence on him."
"But you didn't even notice him approaching the battlefield?" Shirvallah asked with dissatisfaction.
"I wanted to say something, but he was too fast," Hireek argued.
But Shirvallah did not believe Hireek's explanation, "He is your mistake, go and kill him."
Hearing this, Hireek felt her scalp tingle, but she dared not disobey Shirvallah's words.
She quietly concealed herself and moved towards Nordrassil.
Nordrassil had long sensed Hireek's approach, yet he acted as if he didn't know.
Only after Hireek got close did he suddenly turn around and unleash a bolt of lightning, striking Hireek out of stealth.
