Chapter 82 - Awaken, Little Blue Cutie… You’re Worth a Fortune!

Time rewinds — three thousand six hundred years before the events in the park.

Mutants were born gifted, yes — but even with their talents, they were still young and fumbling, stumbling through the darkness in search of direction.

Talent!

A blessing… and a curse.Give a man wings, and he may fly too close to the sun.Grant him the power to foresee the future, and he may live in constant terror of what's to come.Bestow upon one man all gifts — unimaginable strength — and he will seek to rule the entire world.

At this very moment, a grand ceremony was underway.

"En·Saba·Nur!""En·Saba·Nur!"

On both sides of a wide avenue, countless figures knelt and prostrated themselves, shouting the name of a man — or a god.

Upon a golden dragon-shaped palanquin sat a figure in a gilded mask — Tianqi, the mighty Apocalypse.

He was mysterious. He was powerful. He was invincible. He was divine.

He had ruled the world for centuries — the embodiment of supreme authority.

And yet, he despised the way he was forced to live.Every few decades, he had to transfer his consciousness into a new body.True, doing so granted him the powers of the new host… but he loathed the endless cycle.

How could a god — a being above all creation — live like this, clinging to life by constantly stealing new flesh?

He wanted immortality, to exist eternally between heaven and earth, to reign forever as the deathless god!

And today…He would finally become that god.

Even with centuries of calm behind him, Apocalypse's ancient heart trembled with excitement and anticipation.

They had finally found a mutant possessing the ability of immortal regeneration — the perfect host for his next rebirth.

But the closer one draws to success, the greater the danger — and the easier it is for everything to collapse at the final moment.

What Apocalypse didn't know was that the slaves he had ruled with cruelty had long since united…They were ready to overthrow him.

As he descended into the depths of the pyramid to begin the soul transfer, the guards outside exchanged knowing glances — waiting for the exact moment he began the ritual to strike.

Apocalypse's Four Horsemen truly lived up to their name. Their loyalty was absolute.

Before the ceremony began, a white-robed priest held up a gleaming dagger and sliced open the chest of the chosen host — a mutant whose terrifying self-healing powers made even the priest gasp.

The gaping wound closed instantly, smooth skin returning in the blink of an eye.

Apocalypse's withered face finally broke into a long-lost smile. He was very pleased with this body.

"Master!" said the Death Knight, voice trembling with devotion. "From this day forth, you shall rule this world forever!"

Apocalypse cast a heavy glance over his Four Horsemen, then slowly reclined onto the golden altar. It was time to begin the transfer.

The Death Knight approached the host's head, gently placing her hand on his brow."Sleep now," she whispered softly.

At once, the mutant's eyes fluttered shut.

Satisfied, she smiled faintly. "Begin the transfer."

At her command, the priests began their solemn chant, their voices murmuring strange, ancient words that none but they understood.

Outside, massive curtains were drawn aside, allowing beams of sunlight to strike the temple walls.

The blazing solar energy flowed through carved runes, channeled deep into the pyramid — runes that pulsed with mysterious divine power, assisting Apocalypse's soul transference.

Golden light began to surge.Countless worshippers roared frantically, shouting sacred incantations as golden runes enveloped both altars.

The body-swap ritual had begun!

Golden and violet energies intertwined, flickering with divine brilliance.

And at that very instant — the rebels made their move.

They exchanged brief nods, then yanked the curtains wide and hacked through the wooden supports holding up enormous boulders — releasing them to crash down the tunnels.

Dozens of massive stones thundered through the corridors, shaking the pyramid violently.

Outside, soldiers sealed the exits. They had prepared to die with their false god if needed.Tens of thousands of pounds of rock came crashing down — BOOM!

The Four Horsemen reacted instantly, lashing out to protect their master.Ordinary soldiers were no match for them, but the rebels charged forward fearlessly, screaming:

"Die, false god!"

Though they knew it meant certain death, they smiled as they rushed to their fate — because their plan had succeeded.

The pyramid began to collapse.Even as the world came crashing down, the Horsemen shielded Apocalypse with their lives.

The ground shook. Stones rained from above. Dust filled the air.

The War Knight leapt high to block a falling boulder — but even his immense strength faltered.

BOOM!

Another giant slab smashed down. The War Knight dropped to one knee, bones cracking, blood pouring from his lips — yet he still refused to yield.

The Pestilence Knight rushed to help him, but more rebels surged forward, spears in hand, eyes burning with hatred.

The two knights glared back, fury blazing.

To die at the hands of slaves — what a humiliation!

Just then, the Famine Knight struck.Ignoring the danger, she raised a hand, her psychic power exploding outward and hurling the soldiers away like ragdolls.

BOOM!

A massive boulder came down directly above her, crushing her before she could move — a single muffled scream, and she was gone.

The collapse intensified — thunderous crashes echoed as more stones fell.

The War Knight coughed up blood, collapsing beside the altar.Seeing this, the Death Knight tore Apocalypse's ancient armor from his old body and hastily placed it on the new one.

Then, using every last drop of her energy, she created a shimmering barrier of light to shield his body.

Moments later, another avalanche of stone buried them all.

The Death Knight's final moments were spent with a faint, serene smile — relief in her eyes as she looked one last time toward her master.

"Master…" she whispered.

Apocalypse's Four Horsemen — loyal to the very end.Even in death, they refused to abandon him.To them, he was not just a god, but a father — the one who had raised and empowered them.

(Though, honestly, maybe Apocalypse had slept too long. Because the "Horsemen" he'd pick in the future? Total disappointment.Storm and Psylocke were both traitors, Angel was a pure weakling, and Magneto — just another power-hungry egomaniac…)

The fall of the pyramid marked the end of Apocalypse's empire.Humanity stepped into a new age.

Thousands of years passed in the blink of an eye.

And now… the buried pyramid welcomed a new visitor.

"Awaken, little blue cutie!"

"Your slaves betrayed you — it's time to rise again and restore mutant glory!"

With Chen Xi's hands raised, golden runes hidden deep beneath the earth once again stirred under the touch of sunlight.

WOOOOOM!

The transfer ritual reignited.Feeling the surge of power flooding his body, Apocalypse's eyes slowly opened.

At the same time—
