Chapter 1 - Prologue: The Final Battle

The heavens thundered....

Stars dimmed, collapsing into black seas of ruin....Rivers of fire ran across the void, swallowing fragments of broken worlds. Every breath of wind carried the weight of annihilation, shredding anything foolish enough to remain.

And in the heart of this disaster, two figures clashed.

One shone with brilliance bright enough to radiate across time. The other, a shadow, engulfed in darkness so thick that it devoured even light.

Their blows tore apart law and causality. Space folded, unraveling into raw Chaos. Time faltered, universe like a candle in a storm. Worlds that had stood for eons flickered, crumbled, and were gone.

It was not a battle—it was the end of existence itself.

Yet it ended.

Light cut through the shadow. A scream split the void, and the dark figure unraveled, scattered into fragments smaller than specks of dust.

The shining figure staggered. Blood streaked his lips, dripping across his torn robes. His body cracked as though porcelain struck by a hammer, fissures running down to the bone. But his eyes—deep, unyielding—still burned.

He had won.

At least… that was what victory should have felt like.

He looked upward, past the collapsing veil of existence, and he saw it.

A step further.

A brilliance beyond brilliance - transcendence.

He reached for it.

And chains bound him.

Invisible shackles wrapped around his soul. His foundation is failing as cracks split through it. Power that had carried him to the peak of all existence is now holding him back and slowly fading away.

The shadow's last strike had carved its destructive energies into his essence. Not even victory could erase it.

The light of transcendence slipped away.

His knees bent. For the first time in eternity, he nearly fell.

A laugh escaped him, dry and bitter.

"I stood at the pinnacle… and still, I cannot take the final step."

Silence answered. The battlefield was void now—no stars, no witnesses, no rivals. Only ruin.

And him.

He wiped the blood from his lips, sat cross-legged on the trembling fragment beneath him, and closed his eyes, making a decision.

If this body could no longer ascend, then it would be discarded.

If this life was spent, then another would be forged.

Slowly, painfully, he raised his hands. Essence bled from his wounds, forming glowing threads in the air. Symbols burned to life—time, flame, thunder, fate. Laws he had conquered bent to his will.

Above him, the Chaos stirred.

The threads wove into a single construct, its presence heavy enough to bend the void around it. A colossal vessel, part weapon, part scripture, part soul—forged from every fragment of his existence.

Not a treasure for battle. Not an art for glory.

An artifact in preparation for rebirth.

"If this life cannot carry me forward," he whispered, voice low yet steady, "then another will. You will be the anchor of my will… my key to rise again."

His blood fell onto the artifact. It pulsed, drinking greedily, and the void trembled.

The Chaos Sea swelled, watching.

The artifact was no simple vessel—it was meant to carry his essence through death and into another existence. Within it lay his knowledge, his strength, his path, endless resources... everything he has, along with splattered energies, rules, and belongings of his opponent, which gathered with a wave of his hand from drifting chaos, now aiding him in his creation.

Pain spread through him. His body cracked further, splinters of bone tearing flesh apart. His soul frayed like worn cloth.

Still, his eyes never wavered.

"With this," he breathed, "I will break every chain. And reborn even if the heavens themselves reject me."

The construct shone brighter. The fragment beneath him began to collapse entirely, swallowed into the Chaos.

And for the first time since the battle began, a trace of triumph touched his face.

But then—

A chill swept through the void.

His body stiffened.

From the silence, something drifted. A shape half-there, half-lost. Broken, flickering, fueled by nothing but hatred.

The shadow.

"You…" he whispered.

The figure that should have been destroyed. Yet hatred alone had bound it together. A remnant. A curse that refused to vanish.

He unleashed what remained of his strength. A spear of light roared forth, piercing the shadow. The void shook, collapsing into fractures.

When the brilliance faded, the shadow still lingered.

Destroyed. Tattered. But smiling.

"I do not need victory," it rasped, hollow yet triumphant. "I need only to ruin yours." And so it stuck at the very soul of man.

The man fell into void and his soul shattered into countless fragments. Watching all of this, the shadow too has faded into void.

Above, the artifact shuddered. Its glow faltered. Something bled into it—Chaos, thick and ancient. A bright light, so pure and brilliant, blend into the artifact. Strange threads seeped into it, warping its form. It is evolving into something beyond imagination, unknown mysterious changes took place.

A gentle light waved out from it and unbeknownst to shadow, the drifting shattered fragments of shining man coalesced and were absorbed into 'artifact'.

The space collapsed, swallowed by Chaos, and so did the man's creation, if it can still be called so.

The void grew silent once more with only lingering destruction as proof of what had transpired. It shall be there for a very long, long time until the tides of time bury it away.
