"DXD: Transfer Student"Chapter 270: Devouring the Infinite Serpent

Draconis Yi had already rolled his eyes when Sun Wukong's name came up. Now? It was beyond absurd—Cao Cao himself had shown up in his backyard.

Staring at the man standing in his own yard, Draconis Yi was certain this wasn't the historical Cao Cao. Not even close.

"What exactly do you think you're doing, barging into my territory?"

Rias's glare could melt steel. Draconis Yi's home was her home, and these intruders hadn't bothered with so much as a knock. She was ready for a fight—their intentions were anything but friendly.

Cao Cao smiled, calm as ever for a mere human. "Ah, the Gremory princess. We're here for her."

Ophis tilted her head, face as unreadable as ever. "Cao Cao, are you after my life?"

He smiled, but his words were cryptic. "Yes, Ophis, we do need you. Just… not the way you are now."

His killing intent spilled into the air, thick and unmistakable. Draconis Yi could feel the power radiating from him—far beyond what any normal human should possess.

Was it Ophis's power at work?

Ophis, the black-haired girl, simply shook her head. "I don't understand. But I won't lose."

Cao Cao laughed quietly. "That's what I expected. You're terrifyingly strong. Honestly, I don't know what would happen if I fought you head-on—but let's find out."

He spun his spear, energy crackling. In a flash, he lunged, thrusting the weapon straight into Ophis's chest.

No one flinched. Ophis herself only glanced down, watching impassively as Cao Cao withdrew the spear, leaving a gaping hole. No blood spilled; the wound simply closed, smooth as glass.

Definitely not human.

Draconis Yi watched, expression steady, then turned to Kuroka. "Isn't this guy part of the Khaos Brigade too? Is this a mutiny?"

Kuroka grinned, her tone playful. "Technically, we were never really on the same side. Vali and Cao Cao? Oil and water. We all do our own thing~"

"So who's behind all these attacks? You or them?"

"Mostly them, but we've had our own plans—used you guys too, you know!"

"The Loki incident, right?" Draconis Yi nodded. That time, Vali had schemed for Fenrir's God-Slaying Fang.

Kuroka smiled, "That's right, nya. But for this, we ought to call Vali over."

She activated a summoning circle. Moments later, a silver-haired youth stepped through.

"Hero Faction's Cao Cao… you finally made your move."

Cao Cao sighed, half amused. "Vali, of course. Always a surprise."

"I swapped Fenrir's position with Vali-sama's, nya," Kuroka explained, grinning.

Vali ignored Draconis Yi, locking eyes with Cao Cao. "You really plan to go after Ophis? Don't tell me you think that 'Dragon Eater' is your trump card. What is it—a man-made Sacred Gear specialized for slaying dragons, or did you find a new Longinus wielder?"

Cao Cao held the True Longinus—Yellow Dusk's Holy Spear, the strongest Longinus known—wielded by a human.

He shook his head. "No, Vali. 'Dragon Eater' is just a nickname. The thing's been around for ages. The God of the Bible made it."

A man behind Cao Cao—Georg—spoke up. "Uh, Cao Cao, you sure it's okay to just tell them that?"

Cao Cao waved him off. "Doesn't matter. The time's come. Summon it. Let's open the lid on hell's cauldron."

Georg's eyes gleamed. "Got it. Time to devour the infinite!" He activated the summoning spell.

The entire castle shook. A magic circle blazed, oozing menace.

Draconis Yi's eyes narrowed. These bastards had turned his home into a battlefield.

He strode forward, voice cold as ice.

"You come to my house, stir up trouble, and act like I'm not even here? You must have a death wish."

BOOM!

He slammed his palm down, raw magic crashing into the summoning circle, making it flicker and sputter. Cao Cao and his crew recoiled in shock.

Cao Cao whistled. "Impressive power. But this time, you won't stop us." He raised the True Longinus.

Draconis Yi's eyes blazed. "Last warning. Get out of my house. Take your Khaos Brigade drama somewhere else."

This was Ophis's problem, not his—but now the fight had come to his doorstep, and he was done playing nice.

Georg shrugged, almost apologetic. "Sorry, kid. Summoning's already locked in. Little late for second thoughts…"

The magic circle surged with light. A monstrous aura flooded the air.

A massive figure began to emerge—head, torso, black wings, a crucifix…

It was a grotesque creature, nailed to a cross. Its upper half was a fallen angel, its lower half a serpent, bound in chains, eyes streaming bloody tears.

"The forbidden being that tempted Eden's dwellers to eat the fruit of wisdom. The Biblical God may be gone, but his curse still binds this one—Samael, the original sin."

Cao Cao watched the abomination with fascination. Draconis Yi and the others recognized it from legend—the serpent that tricked Adam and Eve.

Azazel dropped from the sky, eyes sharp as blades at the sight of Samael.

"…That thing's from the Underworld. What's Hades playing at, letting it loose?"

Cao Cao chuckled. "We cut a deal with Hades. After setting up enough restrictions, he let us summon it."

Azazel's face darkened. "Bastard. Is he really that pissed about Zeus joining the alliance?"

Draconis Yi pursed his lips. Zeus—the king of the Greek gods. Another new player, but Draconis Yi barely blinked.

"Devour~"

Cao Cao snapped his fingers. Black energy poured from Samael's mouth—its tongue—wrapping around Ophis.

"…It's absorbing my power?"

Ophis murmured, serene as ever, even as her infinite power was drained.

SWISH!

Draconis Yi drew the Regalia Blade, slicing through the black energy in a single, cold stroke.

He stood tall, eyes hard. Mess with the tiger, and you'll find out he's no housecat.
