The next day...
Reese strode happily into the dinning room, already dressed for school. She wore a fitted jean palazzo paired with a black crop top and matching black snickers, her backpack slung casually over one shoulder.
"Good morning, mom," Reese chirped, wrapping Evelina in a warm hug.
Ever since Evelina returned from Vladimir's manor, Reese hadn't had much time with her. She had been staying at her school dorm and often came home left.
"Good morning, my darling," Evelina replied softly, returning the embrace before gently pulling away. "Did you sleep well?"
"I did," Reese nodded. "When I got back last night, Aurelia said you were already asleep." she pouted slightly.
Evelina moved toward the table, arranging the dishes neatly, a bright smile fixed on her face.
"I was pretty tired, so I went to bed early." she said lightly.
Her gaze briefly flickered toward the staircase just as Draven descended, dressed for work, his expression cold.
