----------------------------------------------------------
After the first day of the competition ended, everyone gathered together again that evening.
Emiya led the group to Kikkaro, reserving a private room where they ate, drank, and celebrated the day's matches.
This time, there was one more person than usual.
Mai Shiranui.
Originally, Emiya had planned to invite King and Kasumi Todoh as well, since they were Mai's teammates. Unfortunately, Kasumi had gone chasing after her father, Ryuhaku Todoh, and hadn't returned yet. As for King, she was still with Ryo Sakazaki, so the two of them perfectly missed the gathering.
Only Mai Shiranui, for reasons unknown, had argued with Andy and ended up coming back alone-just in time to join the banquet.
During the meal, Emiya handed Mai a phone and patiently taught her how to use it.
After registering her name and logging into the group chat, she was officially welcomed into his circle.
Mai was amazed.
Phones in '96 were clunky and inconvenient, but the one Emiya gave her was a smartphone-at least ten or twenty years ahead of its time. To her, it was practically magic.
Once she got the hang of it, under Emiya's guidance, Mai sent her first message to the group:
"From now on, please take care of me."
Emiya replied immediately.
"Don't worry."
Hephaestus followed up.
"Don't worry."
Takashi Natsume was as gentle as ever.
"I'm Takashi Natsume. It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Shiranui."
Loki, meanwhile, wasted no time trying to recruit her.
"Do you want to join my Familia, Mai Shiranui?"
Shizuka Hiratsuka was even more enthusiastic.
"From now on, we're comrades in the same trench. Come and be a 'golden bachelor' with me."
Mai blinked, confused.
"What does 'golden bachelor' mean?"
Shizuka answered bluntly.
"It means a golden bachelor who can't get married."
Mai's expression froze.
She looked up at Emiya, clearly at a loss for how to respond, silently asking for help.
Emiya thought for a moment.
"At this moment, you should show an awkward but polite smile."
Mai Shiranui: "..."
Seeing her expression, everyone burst into laughter.
The entire private room was filled with cheerful noise and warmth.
Not long after, Erina Nakiri, Hisako Arato, and Madam Pai-who had finished cooking-also joined the banquet. Emiya's disciple ShirĹŤ and his sister were there as well.
Everyone ate, drank, and chatted until around eleven or twelve at night, when the gathering finally came to an end.
Emiya then brought everyone back to Mai Shiranui's dojo, and they all went to sleep.
The next morning, Emiya woke up to his phone vibrating nonstop.
When he checked, he saw the group chat buzzing with discussion about last night's banquet.
Haruhi Suzumiya was especially active.
"Although last night was really lively, with everyone eating and drinking together, I feel like something was missing. It ended too soon. Hmm... but I can't think of what was missing. Does anyone have any ideas?"
Takashi Natsume replied.
"When I have banquets with yokai, we just eat and drink, and nothing feels missing. Everyone has a great time. Last night felt the same to me."
Hayato Fūrinji gave Natsume a thumbs-up.
"That's right. I also thought last night was enjoyable."
But at this moment, Loki sided with Haruhi.
"It was fun, but something really was missing. The banquet should've been even livelier."
Hestia immediately opposed her.
"The Loki Familia has so many members, of course your banquets are lively. Why don't you just go back and have a banquet with your own Familia?"
Shiho Miyano suddenly chimed in.
"Even though I didn't attend last night, aren't banquets supposed to have singing and dancing?"
Haruhi's eyes practically sparkled.
"That's it!"
Loki reacted instantly.
"That's right!"
Hephaestus suddenly understood.
"So that's it!"
Takashi Natsume was completely lost.
"What are you all talking about?"
Emiya figured it out and quickly explained.
"They mean last night's banquet was missing someone to sing and dance."
Akemi Miyano sent a slightly sour emoji.
"You need singing and dancing for a banquet? Is that how gods hold banquets?"
Emiya replied calmly.
"Yes. That's exactly how the gods of Orario do it. As long as a god feels like it, they hold a divine feast every few days."
Loki added smugly.
"If a certain someone hadn't been kicked out by Hephaestus, they wouldn't even know where their next meal was coming from. Without divine feasts every few days, they'd probably starve."
Hestia exploded instantly.
"What do you mean by 'a certain someone'? If you want to provoke me, just say it, flat-chested god!"
Loki reacted like a cat whose tail had been stepped on.
"What did you say, shorty?! Do you believe I can kill you right now?!"
Hestia wasn't scared in the slightest.
"Come on! I'm waiting for you in my room, you goddess with no curves-flat like a cliff!"
Loki was instantly furious.
"Hestia!!"
"Hestia!!"
"Hestia!!"
At the same time, Emiya felt two immense forces erupt from two different rooms in the Shiranui dojo.
The pressure was terrifying.
It was vast, profound, irresistible.
Just one collision between those forces would cause a world-shattering natural disaster.
That wasn't an exaggeration.
It was a precise assessment.
Every hair on Emiya's body stood on end.
He immediately roared in the group chat.
"What are you two doing?! Is trash talk not enough anymore?! Are you actually going to fight?! Do you want to destroy all of Tokyo?!"
These were goddesses.
Even if they weren't war gods, a real fight between them would easily erase a city.
Even Tokyo wouldn't be an exception.
Fearing that wasn't enough, Emiya sent another message.
"If you really fight, don't even think about me taking you to other worlds again. I mean it."
The oppressive auras vanished instantly.
The terrifying pressure dissipated.
Hephaestus appeared shortly after.
"Weren't we just talking about the banquet? Why were you two releasing divine power? I almost thought you were about to have a real fight."
Emiya finally let out a breath.
"If you want to fight, at least pick a place with no people."
Loki sent several laughing emojis.
"What are you thinking, Emiya? How could I actually fight Hestia here? I was just scaring the shorty."
Hestia played along.
"Yeah, yeah. I was just scaring that flat-chested god."
Takashi Natsume wiped cold sweat from his forehead.
"I really thought I was going to die just now."
Cu Chulainn, on the other hand, was completely relaxed.
"Gods and demigods really are different. Those two auras earlier surprised me. Even Morrigan is a bit weaker."
Emiya knew Morrigan well-the Celtic goddess of war and death.
She had once fallen in love with Cu Chulainn.
He had rejected her.
And when love turned to hatred, she played a role in his death.
At this point, Rin Tohsaka suddenly asked,
"I don't get it. Why didn't you accept Morrigan's love? She was a goddess, and you're not exactly a saint, right?"
Emiya rolled his eyes and replied.
"You're being too polite. Cu Chulainn isn't just not a saint-he's basically a humanoid 'power drill.'"
In Celtic mythology, Cu Chulainn's wife was Emer, but he had countless lovers and mistresses.
Aoife, Fand, Blathnaid, Niamh, Uathach... and that was only the named ones.
There were many more.
Cu Chulainn wasn't embarrassed at all.
"My Master knows me well. I do have many women, and I love them dearly. The main reason I rejected Morrigan was simple-goddesses are usually very troublesome."
Loki rolled her eyes.
"I don't like hearing that. Goddess warning."
Hestia, for once, agreed.
"I don't like hearing it either. Goddess warning."
Hephaestus chimed in as well.
"Same here. Goddess warning."
Aqua appeared out of nowhere.
"I don't like hearing it either! Goddess warning!"
Haruhi Suzumiya hesitated.
"Um... should I also say 'Goddess warning'?"
Emiya replied instantly.
"You broke the pattern."
Cu Chulainn shrugged it off.
"Anyway, Morrigan was extremely possessive. If I accepted her, I'd have to give up all my other women. That's something I can't do. So even though she was a goddess, I had to refuse."
Emiya nodded in agreement.
"That makes sense. If it were me, I'd do the same. How could I give up an entire forest for just one tree?"
Rin Tohsaka snapped back.
"You are truly the ultimate scumbag. I don't understand how Medusa puts up with you."
Medusa replied calmly.
"In my view, this is quite normal. Most heroes I know have many lovers and mistresses."
Medea sighed softly.
"Even if I don't want to admit it... that's the truth."
