A second later, violet flames erupted from the massive wound, spreading across the wolf's body before it disappeared into the shadows completely.
Leo could still hear it, though—the faint, stifled whimpers slipping through the darkness. And because staying still would expose its position to the creeping fire, the shadow wolf kept darting around the clearing, making its cries echo from every direction.
He had already held back by limiting the 300% boost to the dagger arm alone. Even then, the blade had chipped after a single strike. He remembered the merchant had proudly bragged that the dagger would never loose its edge before it shattered.
Well… that guarantee probably hadn't accounted for Leo's current nonsense.
