After their fight, we took carriage from the mansion, But brother and sister-in-law surely weren't looking that lively, as they had the same expression when a person dies or he or she gets married, and this was the only way I can think of putting it because they had such gloomy eyes, while brother already packed all sorts of stuff for adventure, like food, water, alcohol, etc.
And Ashoka also checked the carriage to make sure about the safety, and after saying farewell to them, we began to hit the road, and my wolf chose to stay behind in the mansion only. And after traveling for some time, we came to the boundary of the town.
At the border, the security was pretty insane, and compared to before, the guards were in pretty great number; even some fancy officers were also checking the carts in search of something. Well, I was clear about the reason for this strict checking because I was the sole reason for this checking.
So Ashoka, seeing such security at the outpost, came out and showed the authority emblem of the darkness guild. Seeing it, they greeted Ashoka with a somewhat terrifying tone and gestured to the other people to open the gates of the border.
Well, the gates in this world were looking a bit normal, but the energy that was radiating from them was quite astonishing, so seeing such enchanted wall-type stuff, I was feeling quite excited.
And soon the gates opened, allowing us to move forward, so we moved forward and saw that fields and greenery were everywhere, and seeing such a view, we both felt relieved, and while we were still on our way, we saw that many strange creatures were living peacefully and cheerfully.
Well, this Ashoka guy was a necromancer, so he didn't like daylight much, and we were moving in the shadows of the trees; the breeze was also feeling quite gentle, and so we were enjoying ourselves on our journey, but I still had my doubts about this Ashoka guy and his mighty tale.
So I asked him about his tales about his fight with that overpowered guy, where he won the match.
After hearing my questions regarding that event, he gave me a pretty fair expression and spoke, "Listen, kid, that fight was just as crazy as your brother described, as I barely got away with my strategy, and luck was also on my side, and besides that, the guy was not a pushover.
As he made his way to power by his own efforts, but you see, you can't blame him for his carelessness or kindness, as he gave me multiple options to flee or ask for surrender, but at that time I was pretty stubborn, and I just couldn't accept defeat, so due to it, I took benefit of his kindness and struck at perfect times, and that's how I won that match.
But I am not proud of that slyness, because that guy was way too kind towards me in that match and made sure that I could survive, but due to my previous nature, I didn't think about his side and pulled that stunt and scored a victory. But it is a basic rule of survival that you have to exploit the weakness of others and push your way forward.
But still, whenever I think about it, I can only see that I just exploited their kindness and good nature towards me, so in my guilt towards it, I later on released him from my summoning ground so that he could turn to the afterlife and get reincarnated in another form and body.
So you see, this is the whole truth about that event, as surely your brother's advice to you was definitely pretty perfect; most of my opponents fall in front of me due to their negligence or their emotions, but you see, every time I only challenged people who were stronger than me. So, mostly this is my nature."
Hearing the whole truth from his mouth gave me a new insight into him, as he wasn't that bad like how that creepy brother described.
Now after feeling the boredom, we began to drink. The carriage was way too luxurious, and it was feeling real nice to be sitting in something like this. Ashoka spoke while thinking about something: "Kiddo, where did you get that wolf? Surely he isn't a low-level one, and by judging his aura and his behavior, he should be the leader of at least 5 or 10 packs. Michael told me that you had him with you at the time of return, so where did you get it?
Or this brother is going to have a talk with your mighty elder brother, and you see, he must not have told you, but he isn't a saint, and he established such a guild, and he walked the floor of corpses and even created oceans of blood in his pursuit, and he even forced me to join his guild, so spill the beans!"
Hearing his question and description of him surely resembled my first impression of the institution that I got when I first met him: that all of my instincts were warning me to not mess with him.
But despite having the pen of fate, I was feeling pressured about thinking about Michael. But I won't have to think about this stupid shit. But while looking at him, I felt something strange and creepy about him: this bastard didn't have a shadow.
Seeing this, my heart started to beat crazily, and all horror movies started to revolve in my head, and I began to make my distance slowly with a pale face and asked him in a terrified tone, "Brother, can I ask you one thing? Why do you not have a shadow?
Hearing my curiosity and my terror-filled words, he began to laugh wholeheartedly, and after time, while wiping off his tears, he began to answer, "You truly are a spoiled brat, you know that, right?
Your brother owns such a massive dark guild, and here you are talking about my shadow. You don't know a thing, like that a necromancer's shadow is always connected to his summoning ground, and our shadows can't be reached by anyone unless the necromancer allows it or the other guy is way too overpowered.
So basically, in easy terms, you can't see a dark attribute class's shadow, because the shadows are way too vulnerable for every being, and it is the basic rule in our dark class that we never let anybody see our shadow, as it is a direct image of our souls, and if someone gets ahold of it, then surely it wouldn't end very well for him or her."
Hearing such a deep explanation, I began to think, "What will happen if I activate my demon god's attribute? Will I be able to see his shadow or something more awesome?" Heh-heh, but I shouldn't. But soon, I felt that we reached the wrong place, So I asked Ashoka in concerned tone, 'to check it.' Seeing my worried and concerned face, he quickly confronted me by saying that "Brat, don't worry about the place, as it is a mere water kingdom, and we are on the right path!"
